Great location and the room is decorated with great taste. Bed is extremely comfortable like those in 5 star hotel. Shared kitchen is well stocked and table in both the kitchen and in the back garden can accommodate six or more. We met other occupants and had a great time chatting in the garden, it was the highlight of our stay. Self checkin was easy just follow the checkin instructions. The b&b is between the 4 Sqaure supermarket and the coffee shop, Reefton is a small town with rich history of mining, the cottage is in the centre so everything is within 5 minutes radius . We enjoyed our stay very much.

This delightful conversion of a rustic old building into a small hotel is wonderful. The location is in the middle of town, with other local facilities readily available. eg shops, supermarkets, take-aways, chemist... We enjoyed the pizza and huge tiramisu at Bassano. The room size is good for a couple, with a modern tiled bathroom. The shared kitchen/ lounge worked well for a chat with other guests.

Our room, and window, was on the road-front. Which meant we clearly heard people and traffic. The room was very hot (27℃), so we needed to keep the window open. After stripping the bed down to sheets, we were still too hot. Another way to cool the room down would be good.

Beautiful, charming building keeping to its original character. Nice big shower with good water pressure. The room had a luxurious plush feeling about it. We stayed in the Vault room, the original vault door to the en-suite was a fun feature!

We found the room too hot, so providing a fan for the summer would be good. Not the properties fault, but because it’s located on the main road the traffic was very noisy. There front entrance door slammed every time someone used it, so installing a mechanism to make it close gently will make a big difference.

Ideally located, very friendly owner, no fuss just given freedom to enjoy your stay. Nice continental breakfast which you're able to enjoy at your leisure. Very clean and comfy bedding and the heater in my bedroom worked very well. It's an interesting heritage building and has some nice quirky details in some of the rooms.

My bathroom was lovely but extra care is needed when the floor is wet as it goes like a skating rink!. Mats are provided but the water splashes everywhere from the shower. I had to use towels to sop it up. Could probably do with a full width shower door maybe?

Cute bnb which is done really well such excellent set up. The hosts were so friendly and little touchs like scones on arrival were great too. We were really happy with our stay in Reefton. I would definitely return. Also, I treated myself to treatments with Rachel at West Coast Wellness which were great offerings if you want to treat yourself to some pampering while in town. Another bonus is coffee at the Cafe Thanks a wonderful stay indeed 😀

Nothing to fault all good.

Loved the period detail and how they stuck to the theme that formed part of the gold mining era. It was all very clean and detailed. Loved the experience. Highly recommended.

Only complaint would be that the mattress was too soft. A firmer mattress could be said to be a personal preference. However, for people with back problems, it can become a problem if there isn't enough support. Other than that, it was a superb stay over. A pity we didn't book 2 nights.

Well located on main road. Comfortable bed. Very friendly helpful owners. Clean facilities. Great shower. Breakfast was help yourself to cereals, toast, etc, along with fresh yoghurt, milk, juice and spreads. Communal kitchen/ dining area and lounge was good for meeting other visitors.

Our room had no outside windows, apart from a very high one for ventilation. This due to the style of the building, and is not able to be changed. Couldn't get TV to work in shared living area. Could have been operator error. Better instructions would be good.

The location was perfect for exploring the town and the surrounding area. The house has been renovated keeping with the character of the place. The communal area at the back with the kitchen, lounge and outdoor seating meant you could interact with the other guests. In the room was a brochure advertising massages just up the road, so I enjoyed a relaxing massage which was perfect after all of the walking I had been doing.

I stayed in the queen suite and I would highly recommend this to anyone it was exactly what I needed for passing through for a night but would of happily stayed there longer if I had the time. Highly recommend Wilsons Hotel for a steak and Broadway tearooms and bakery for breakfast/lunch.

Ticked all the boxes

The room was lovely and had a very cool feel to it. Bed was comfy and everything was clean. Check-in and check-out was easily possible. Bathroom within an old safe is funny and added to the experience. The common area provided everything needed to cook or hang out.

Two points are in my opinion missing for a 10 rating. First the safe door for the bathroom could not be closed fully which was not a problem for us but should be fixed while keeping the cool door. Second the included breakfast was subpar. Maybe this was due to the holidays. A better option might be to cooperate with the next door cafe in terms of vouchers.
