Room was reasonably comfortable and enough space for the 2 of us. It has enough facility to enable us to make our own breakfast. The only nearby place to eat was their main Hotel. The food was excellent quality and good value.

Just a heads up.. Through no fault of the accommodation provider, the Booking.com details don't give the correct check in address. It makes the check in process confusing. You need to check in at the main Hotel venue (a couple of blocks back on the main road), not at the address provided. They have tried to have it changed on their listing to no avail. Booking.com are the ones who need to get their act together to help this business and their patrons.

We got unit 2, right at the shore. The bungallow was clean and had a nice vibe with wooden floors and open space. Bathroom was big, kithen well equipped, full size frigde with milk inside. The location is perfect, walking distance to the pancake rocks and Prororari river track. The best part was its proximity to the sea, you could hear the sound of the vawes, and just a few steps through the back garden and you could watch the sunset from the shore. There were picnic tables too. Good meal options in the proximity. The stars at night are spectacular, almost zero lightpollution. It was one of the highlights of our travels in New Zealand!

The only con that there isn't any general or grocery store in Punakaiki, if you don't want to eat out, you need to buy food and ingredients before your arrival.

The location was perfect! The accomodations exceeded anything that I had hoped for. There was so much room in our cottage, and the kitchen had everything we would need. There was a super comfy couch, lots of room for bags, and umbrella to use if needed, and a spacious bathroom. The restaurant at the hotel check-in area was a homerun; we ate there for dinner, and then the following day for breakfast, and it was all very delicious. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I only wish our stay was longer; I would come back here in a heartbeat.

To see the sea you need to climb up steps to the top of a bank where there are picnic tables to use. Pancake rocks are visible from there. Great to be able to hear the sea from the accommodation. The beds were extremely soft and cosy. Air con was on as we arrived after a sunny afternoon and the heater automatically came on in the evening to keep the night chill off.

The WiFi connection was poor. We couldn't have a Wattsapp conversation. The floor boards were a bit creaky and the door hinges need a spot of oil. We could have used a pair of scissors.

It was fun exploring the Punakaiki area after the crowds left. It is an easy walk to the pancake rocks and blow holes park. So after diner you can walk there for the sunset. Then on the way back explore Punakaiki cave, with its glow worms. The cave seems larger and more mysterious at night. The location is in a little village between the highway and ocean. There property is managed by a hotel and restaurant just down the road. You check in a the restaurant. There are clear instructions posted at the property entrance so no problem. The room was large, clean and comfortable. It was well equipped. It had a small kitchen. There were a lot of windows a seating area, a small but nice bathroom and a small front porch. The ocean is perhaps 30 meters from the room. There is a sea wall of large rocks between the hotel and the beach. At high tide the ocean reaches the wall. It is a short walk of another 100 meters along the sea wall to a wide and beautiful beach. The restaurant where you check in is the only real evening dining option in the area. But, the food and experience were wonderful. Plus, it is a pleasant walk along the beach to get there.

We 100% enjoyed it.

Location was great and the unit warm and comfortable. The number of units meant the motel could easily accommodate us and friends.

We stayed in Room 11 and could not use the TV as the pohutukawa trees interferes with the satellite dish on the roof. Not a biggy, but if it's a service that is provided than it should be usable. We also found it quite expensive for what you got. Our room bedroom was quite tight, we kept knocking ourselves on doors and corners. A bug screen on the ranchslider would be recommended.

Nice set of properties just set back from the seafront (although with sea defences this is over a raised walkway and access to the beach us further along). Kitchen includes stovetop and there is a bbq in the communal garden area. Checkin is about 300m away at the hotel and signs at the lodges tell you this. Close to pancake rocks NP and walkway where you can see great sunsets. You are warned but no grocery stores for miles

WiFi can be a little temperamental to all the units.

These are really cute little units that feel nice and secluded, and it’s a very short walk to the beach for sunset/to the associated bar/restaurant for hearty meals. We appreciated the fan supplied in the bedroom since the area can get quite humid.

Not a complaint but more a note to potential new customers that there is no obvious signage in the bar/restaurant where you check in that the “beachfront motels” are associated - we found that a little confusing at first glance.

Place was clean, location was good (oceanfront, however, it is not a sandy beach but large rocks but still nice spot to watch the sunset and ocean).

You have to go to the restaurant to check-in, but it is very nearby. Parking is a bit tight, but glad there was parking. The floorboards in one room were a bit worn (thought I might get a splinter so I just wore socks). It was a bit warm in there when we arrived with sunsetting/blazing and there was only one fan, however it cooled down at night.

Great location, almost a bit scary being sandwiched between that glorious towering cliff and the crashing Tasman kept out by the boulder bank. Very spacious, comfortable layout in unit, lovely comfortable furniture, kitchen pretty well equipped.

No tea towel provided, and the room got cold overnight as the space heater cord was getting very warm and I worried about a fire breaking out as I slept if I left it on even on low setting. Yes I found the spare blankets thank goodness. No staff on site to tell.
