Barrytown coastal route 6 is phenomenal!! Awesome views, comfy cabin. We had Netflix one night. Close to Pancake Rocks, Conservation Visitor Center, both where awesome. Pancake Cafe had great food!! We loved our stay.

Unfortunately Rata Cottage, it rained hard the second night. I love the rain, but it knocked out Netflix (cable service). Bummer, but we tried talking to the property manager. She didn't come out to fix it. Poor Chris volunteered to assist, he was renting in RataView where the router/modem is kept. Anyway, we tried.

Very different. Absolutely enormous as it used to be a cafe or restaurant. Incredible views and very fun having the table tennis table as well. Very different to normal baches but in a fun way.

Lack of washer and dryer - given the remote location and likelihood of needing to wash soaked and dirty clothes (and how expensive it was) I think this should have been easily accessible. Also over coffee. Most motels provide little sachets of filter coffee and again, given the price, I think this shouldn’t be hard to do.

Very nice location for a trip up the Northwest coast of South Island. Close to beaches and Pancake Rocks. A good base to head further up the coast to Cape Foulwind where we saw the seals. It actually could take 4 people but we only had 2.

Our cottage was right behind another, so we didn't have a view from inside the place.

Amazing views, great space, and convenient, quiet location!

We had several people try to enter our place (the big lodge) while we were there, expecting it to be a community center, not another guest house. While we had only friendly encounters, it was a bit unnerving.

Spacious, 180 degree ocean views, incredible deck. Modern and clean, just an incredible stay.

For a self contained, isolated stay, a laundry would have been good. There is no laundromat for about 30 minutes drive. Also there are currently some buildings works right in front of the deck and at rear of property but these were not disturbing us, there was no noise, and barely interrupted the view.

Very peaceful location with a short drive to Punakaiki Rocks. Tidy cottage with good supply in kitchen and great shower water pressure.

Limited view being behind the Rata building as described, able to use outside lawn space and seating at building for sunset though.

I had the best sleep I have had in a long time. It was very quiet, warm and very accessible. Away from the hustle and bustle! The facilities were perfect for our needs. We enjoyed hanging out in the lounge area as there was plenty of room!

Very pleasant stay, cottage is welcoming, all nice and clean.

The Rataview has a big deck overlooking the sea and offers great sunsets but the 2 bedrooms Rata cottage is located behind the Rataview and has no front seaview. No shops around, make sure you bring all you need with you. The only dinner option is at the Pancakes site.

Simple cottage with plenty of facilities. Beautiful location. Comfortable beds.

Basic and a bit dated here and there. No decent views from the cottage. No extractor hood in the kitchen.

The view is amazing. Thank you for allowing us to stay at your property ‘rataview from 20-21st February, 2023. The condition of the property was amazing, however, I would like to inform you that there was a small damage( cracked glass) on the main door on arrival to the property. The keys to the property have been left in the key-lock safe. Anna & friends.
