It was clean. . Beds are comfortable pots and pans are new.

I booked 2 units and were given room 4 and 5. These units are at the end of the block and had its parking slanted so that other cars can exit the premises. As my car is very long and there was another car parked in the middle carpark lot near to the sitting area, we realised that if we park slanted, other cars will not be able to exit. As we had 2 units and only 1 car, we parked parallel parking between our 2 units so that other cars can drive out n exit easily. However we were told off by the staff to park slanted and just walked off without giving us the opportunity to explain why we parked that way.

The owners were very nice and very helpful. The room was great except the bathroom was an ensuite so quite inconvenient for anyone sharing (as we were). The beds were also a little too soft for both of us. But the room was spotlessly clean and we had a little outdoor seating area at the back looking out on a small garden which we really enjoyed.

Exceptionally clean and well-presented rooms. The layout worked well for us, with a queen and a single bed in the main room (and two chairs). We also appreciated the two luggage racks and small side table. The shower had excellent water pressure! We found the kitchenette well-appointed—with a bench and two stools along with everything else you need to manage for a few days away.

- no space to put away clothes. There were a couple of hangers but that is it. For longer stays (over 3 days) this could be impractical - proximity to the road for people sensitive to noise could be a problem

Great little find. As we had a rental car, the short distance from the main township was not an issue. Staff at check in were friendly and very helpful. Room was well appointed, double glazed, warm and comfortable. The motel cat was also very happy to have pats. New World supermarket was within walking distance and The Rec Bar was busy for dinner when we walked past.

The willingness of staff to go beyond our expectations to help out with transport. We were delighted because it enabled us to enjoy your town and activities on offer. Thank you Sharing of local information and recommendations for eating out was fab'.

Having to access the bathroom through the main bedroom gave us some laughs. The door was very heavy and was catching on the carpet so opening and closing it built up our arm muscles. LOL

It was spacious and very clean. The shower was great, the bed comfortable. We arrived late in the evening due to a road blockage near Maas (fallen tree), then having to drive back to Wanaka (where we'd stayed) and then forced to take the alternate route via Arthur's Pass. It was an 11 hour trip. How wonderful to be welcomed by Michelle, who couldn't do enough for us. Thank You.

Everything was great. The room was spacious and light, and the kitchen was well-equipped and had heaps of bench space. It was so clean it was gleaming. The location was very convenient, parking was easy and the owners were extremely helpful.

The only issue was the wifi. It’s the first place we have stayed for years that still uses paper vouchers. Each voucher had a reasonable amount of data on it (12GB), but we were staying for 4 nights and although we asked for (and received) more vouchers halfway through, we were still quite limited in what we could do. We also had to enter the code several times a day to find out our balance, which was annoying. They unnecessarily gave us new towels every day.

The motel is a little dated in appearance but our room was clean and well enough equipped with a couple of chairs, a table, TV and comfy bed and plenty of room. It also had a small but functional kitchen and similar sized bathroom/toilet which included plenty of towels and the usual supplies. A bonus is that it is only a couple of hundred metres from the Rec Hotel where they have a very nice restaurant that does not have outrageous prices.

A common complaint that we have had in NZ is that almost all of the beds we have slept in have had a sheet and light weight quilt on them, but for us this was way too warm for a comfortable night's sleep, but a sheet alone was not warm enough. We were there in March and everywhere we went we slept with windows open where we could but the cooler outside air just never seemed to penetrate into the room. As I say, this is a complaint we had at every venue we stayed in from lodges to 4 star hotels.

Recently referbished standard NZ motel on main road out of Greymouth. Perfect for all our needs and very clean. I found mattress lumpy but hubby thought ok! We had the $15 continental breakfast which was plentiful and value for the price. It was delivered to out room night before so we could have when we wanted in morning. Good shower and everything you might need in the kitchen. Would recomend for a nights stop
