For something we chose as a one-night stay on our way to Franz Josef, the Apostles View Motel was a real delight. The Family rooms were massive with 2 rooms, a lounge, and a separate fully functional kitchen. Although this is an older-style motel, it has been impeccably maintained and is spotlessly clean. I like that the reception is across the other side of the stream, as it adds to the sense of privacy for the rooms. The Motel is a little out of town (a short drive) but this isn't an issue if you have a car/van.

Comfortable little unit with all we needed for an overnight stop. Close enough to town to easily access services. The rooms were very neatly presented and the kitchen was well equipped for basic meal preparation.

The motel is close to the highway. It quieted down before we headed to bed but the traffic was loud again from about 5am. Fortunately they provide earplugs so sleep was still possible.

Great little spot with more space than was expected. Nice to have a drying rack on a rainy day like this & the electric blankets were a perfect addition.

The TV was a little problematic and didn’t work consistently & the WiFi connection was a little slow. Also given the way the app provides directions was quite problematic in the rain at night as it takes us to a closed bridge. Would be nice to get a message to explain how to drive to the reception in advance.

An older style of motel, but spotlessly clean and nice furnishings in the room. Good to have a separate toilet and there was air fresheners. Right by the road, but not too much traffic, so the noise was not a problem.

The TV was a bit tricky to work out. There was 2 concrete steps up to the room that were quite deep and narrow, I don't remember that being mentioned when I booked the room.

It was a comfortable motel and we slept well. I liked the green surroundings. It was peaceful, apart from the whoosh woosh of passing cars (not heard late at night).

I couldn't figure out how to work the microwave oven or the TV. Some elementary instructions would have helped. Fortunately my brother has very good technical skills so he managed. (Yes, your instructions said to contact the office if necessary)

The place was incredibly clean, comfortable and had some great little details. Great location, but ideally need to have a car to get there as it's a little way out of town. We were only there for 1 night but would've happily stayed for longer. The bed was so comfy, great WiFi, heater provided, little communal garden and lots more. We were greeted upon arrival by a lovely women.

Attention to detail in the rooms, from the little FOGO scraps bin in the kitchen, to the heated towel rail in the bathroom, air freshener in the toilet and earplugs provided in the bedroom drawers. Daily room servicing - just top notch service and room facilities, and with a focus on reducing our environmental footprints. On top of this the friendly and bubbly owner at reception made us feel welcome from the outset. Perfect hospitality, thank you so much.

The traffic noise was a little higher than ideal, but certainly not a deal breaker.

Facilitiy was amazing. The Host was wonderful! She was bubbly and helpful. Enjoyed the decor and the two rooms off the lounge and kitchen. It was very clean and had such a freshness about it.

The outside noise from the highway kept one of us awake. He tried to use ear plugs but could not get past the sound...this is not the fault of the staff at the Motel....but wonder if traffic controllers can put a reduced speed out along this part of the highway. The noise took away the peace that he needed.

Motel proprietor was absolutely lovely. The double studio rooms were spotless, and really nice. The decor is slightly dated, but really nice, and certainly not a negative...very cool infact. The kitchen, bathroom and toilet facilities were spotless and all worked as they should. A lovely location, and a nice break from the being in town. The drive to town is short and easy.

The only potential negative was the roadside noise in the front bedroom from around 7am to 9am, due to roadside traffic heading to Greymouth. I'm a light sleeper, so it may not impact others. Wasn't an issue, as we were up and about around that time.

The woman at reception was very friendly and kind and I really liked the retro feel of the unit. It was spacious and there was plenty of kitchen ware, cutlery and towels. The bed was a little soft for my liking and I couldn’t work one of the heaters. Fortunately I could work the other one as it was a cold night. I’d stay again.
