We were surprised that this hotel is actually in the building of the airport. Therefore we didn't have to move our rented car from the airport's rental car parking to the hotel's parking. Since we arrived at night it was easier not to look for the way to the hotel's car park. If you arrive at night like we did, you could start your rented car's booking the next day to save money. The walk to the hotel within the building (I think it was located on the 3rd floor) took about 10 minutes or less, from the arrival hall / rental cars hall. Please note once you leave the airport building it is not so easy to get back. It took us some time to find the entrance to the hotel from the outside. This is the only place we were allowed to enter the building again. We were happy to be able to use the hotel's WiFi as we haven't purchased a SIM card and mobile data on our arrival at the airport. In hindsight, we regret this decision because one of our mobile phones was left unnoticed on mobile internet and this occurred in extra costs. The fees at the airport seem to be high because one pays not only for the data but also for the SIM card. As for the hotel room, it was surprisingly quiet. We thought we would hear the planes taking off and landing but we didn't. We stayed one night and the facilities were very comprehensive. We have found the twin beds very comfortable. The design of the room and bathroom was modern and stylish. We did not add breakfast to our booking so I can't give feedback about that. I want to mention that the rental car company (GreenMotion) was happy with our UK Driving Licence and did not require an Internation Driving Licence, contrary to the gov.uk website's information. There was one unpleasant surprise though at our first attempt to fly to Turkey. When we dropped off our suitcases at the airport in the UK, I was denied boarding because my passport was only valid for 3 months from the date of arrival.

**Convenient Stay at SAW Airport Hotel** We stayed at this hotel inside Istanbul’s Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW) for one night, as we had an early morning flight. The biggest advantage was its location—being right inside the airport made our travel incredibly easy and stress-free. The hotel was clean and comfortable, providing a good rest before our flight. Despite these aspects, the hotel serves its purpose perfectly for travelers needing convenience within the airport. If you prioritize location and efficiency, it’s an ideal choice!

However, we found the nightly rate to be on the higher side, which might not suit all budgets. Another unexpected factor was that the staff's English proficiency was somewhat limited, which made communication a bit challenging.

The room is comfortable, wifi is working, staff was kind, for staying 1 night between flights is perfect.

There was an issue between Booking.com and TAV regarding a reservation that was cancelled by Booking.com due to an error. However, TAV did not receive the cancellation notice and proceeded to charge me twice. Unfortunately, I was unable to resolve the issue with Booking.com, as their customer support contact information was not easily accessible. This unresolved situation has negatively impacted my experience and trust in future bookings.

I recently stayed at the TAV Airport Hotel Izmir during a layover, and it turned out to be a great choice for anyone needing a convenient and comfortable place to stay near the airport. The hotel’s location is unbeatable if you need easy access to the airport, as it’s just a short walk away from the terminal. This made my transit extremely convenient, especially for an early morning flight. Despite being close to the airport, I was pleasantly surprised by how quiet the hotel was – the noise insulation was excellent. The room was clean, modern, and well-equipped for a short stay. The bed was comfortable, and the room design was simple but functional, perfect for transit travelers. We were offered breakfast boxes because of our early flight. Big plus. The staff were very professional and welcoming. Check-in and check-out were quick and hassle-free, and the front desk staff were happy to assist with any questions or requests. They also offered a wake-up call service, which was helpful for my early departure.

Windows are facing some airport road so do not expect great view. Another small annoyance was a cigarette smell though not strong but noticeable enough.

TAV Airport Hotel Izmir, unlike most of other airport hotels, which are usually located in front or by a terminal, is located inside the terminal. One may leave the hotel and go directly to check in. At Turkish airports, including Izmir, apart from the security check after check in there’s an additional security check while entering the airport, so staying in TAV hotel on the departure day one skips this check. And upon arrival to the hotel there’s a separate entrance for the hotel guests with own security check, so no need to wait in a queue. We selected Deluxe room, which is bigger than Superior, and has a window. Unfortunately, there’s a flyover few meters just in front of the window, so there’s no view at all and people passing there may see what’s going on in the room if curtains are open, but at least some sun light makes it to the room. The room is of sufficient size, same as the bathroom, in the room one can find a fridge (unfortunately it was broken), an electric kettle, a safe box and a TV. The room is not completely soundproof, some outside and inside noises can be heard, but since the hotel is facing the approach to the airport, while planes are on the other side of the building, then fortunately landing or starting planes can’t be heard and don’t disturb in sleeping. The breakfast is served in one of bars in the terminal, which is close to the hotel’s entrance and lobby, and which is closed to the public at the time of breakfast for hotel guests. It’s rather basic, but if one needs just to grab something before the flight it’s sufficient. We have no reasons to complain about the staff, in fact we had to shorten our stay by one day due to an accident that we had and although it was already after the period of permitted changes the staff positively reacted to our request. If one needs to go to the centre of Izmir then there’s a modern, quick suburban train (similar to German S-bahn) connecting frequently the airport to the city.

Some maintenance would be required in the hotel. For example the fridge in the room was broken, which we discovered only upon departure when we wanted to remove our items requiring cold and discovered that can be only thrown to the dust bin (it was turned on, the light worked, but it was not cooling). Another issue was with one lamp in the room which was constantly going on and off. It was a bit annoying and the cleaning stuff certainly must have noticed it, so not sure why it wasn’t reported and fixed. The shower’s window has a blind so one can open or not the view to the room, but it was also broken. As I also mentioned breakfasts are inferior to those we had in other hotels in Turkey.

We had a comfortable nights stay before our 6am flight. Convenience to the airport was obviously outstanding and the front desk staff was nice enough to leave us a box breakfast even though we left so early and did not have breakfast included in our room rate. That was a really nice touch and helped us have a good start to the day. The room was comfortable and a cot was provided for the third person. With some rearranging of the chairs the cot fit surprisingly well! Very happy with our hotel choice to make the early morning flight more comfortable.

The hotel is in the airport so it was very convenient for our early morning flight. It is very clean and the staff is very helpful and attentive. They even brought us a nice snack of dried apricots and figs and nuts a short while after we checked in.

There is nothing to do except watch TV. Food choices are very limited. The hotel has breakfast but doesn’t start serving until 7:00 a.m. and our flight left at 7:15. They do have cocktails and other beverages available for purchase but that’s it. There is a Burger King and a small cafe with sandwiches and pastries but that is all for food.

We loved this hotel. The ease when flying into or out of Izmir. The staff were amazing and helpful. The breakfast was fantastic and the rooms were great. We enjoyed the rain shower. We took an easy taxi ride to the nice mall nearby. Highly recommend.

The only complaint was the temperature in the room. The thermostat was set and non adjustable due to the winter months. There was also no window to open to let in fresh air. It was hard to sleep with such a high temperature.

I booked this room as I had a morning flight the next day and didn't want the hassle of having to wake up earlier and worry about getting to the airport on time. It is just 1 floor below the departure level. Breakfast was provided so I didn't have to rush to go buy anything. Check in and check out process is very smooth. Staff was friendly and helpful with my luggage. I was allowed to park temporarily at the entrance as I wanted to settle the check in process before returning my rental car at the carpark. The room was clean and I was even provided an extra bed well before check in as I had requested it because we were travelling in a group of 3. Overall I give it a 10/10. I highly recommend especially if you have an early morning flight and don't want to wake up earlier and worry about transportation to the airport.

Clean, comfortable room, friendly, professional staff, delicious breakfast, very convenient location for an early morning flight, and reasonable rates. Although the room was a bit too cold for my taste, it became toasty because I had total control of the thermostat. Electric outlets were well-placed and the hair drier was powerful. Good choice of toiletries and nice towels in the bathroom.

Toilet paper fixture had come loose, but probably got missed. I would have loved to have a few drink options in the empty minibar in the room and proper coffee instead of cheap instant coffee by the kettle.
