The surprises! Smokin J's right there in the parking lot, the amazing artwork being done on the SteamPunk Casino being readied for opening next year, and the sweet Burros that followed us to our hotel room door for a chat and a visit.
The casino wasn't open yet ;-)

Very clean and new rooms. Coffee to do mashine available. We was nice suprised.
Only one little minus. We got room nr.100 which is close to gasoline station and through aircondition we heard every truck, car a voice. But even this we slept well.

The Exchange Club Motel in Beatty, Nevada was more than just you sleepy little establishment back off the street in the downtown. It's affiliated with the corner property of the Exchange Club and right next to one of the best barbecue establishments ( Smokin BBQ ) in NEVADA. The hotel had gone through an extensive renovation and upgrade of all of it's rooms and it was very apparent that they put a lot of time and effort into it. They even indicated that the rooms were soundproof and, for the most part, I could honestly say they had very well insulated and made for a very quiet evening, even with all the heavy traffic that comes through between Las Vegas and Reno. I would say this is truly a hidden gem in the Nevada desert.
Nothing.

First we need to understand the location. This town is way off the beaten path but has everything you need to stay comfortable adjacent the National Park called Death Valley. The restaurant next door has some of the best BBQ I've every had. Mornings are perfect at Denny's with a Grand Slam Breakfast. The days are spent running into the park for the many points of interest. We used 3 days and two nights to do this but now I'd recommend an additional day or even two to see the many points of interest of this amazing area.
Everything we needed was here, and at an affordable rate.

Only stayed 1 night while visiting Death Valley NP but would happily have stayed longer. This is a basic motel however our room was very clean and comfortable and it had been renovated in recent years. The water pressure in the shower was very good and we found the bed to be comfortable too so we had a good nights sleep. Loved that they offer pet friendly rooms too for only a minimal extra fee. That worked out really well for us as our puppy is too young to be boarded or left with a sitter.
The heating system was a bit noisy, however it heated the room effectively on a cold night.

Great staff and very accommodating. Excellent room for the price. The bed was comfortable, the towels were great and overall it was clean. The carpet is stained which makes it look dirty - probably just time to replace it. But for the price I paid and for the cleanliness of the rest of the room I would say it was "not a big deal"!
Replace the carpet; maybe just take it out altogether. Directions for how to use the television remote control would be helpful, especially for "non techies" like me!

- Laundry is available onsite, bring your own detergent. Detergent was sold out for the entire period we were there, it was not refilled, or you could drive to the other side of the town and check if the sister hotel has some left. - On the edge of Beatty (Nevada), one of the closest accomodation to the National Park entrance with moderate pricing compared to other states. - Beatty is a lot cooler than Death Valley, especially at night. - Service stations and restaurants are nearby.
- Like many of the accommodations out there, there is only one chair in a 2 people room, had to take turns to eat takeaway.

The second night we were there we had a handicap room on the end. The bed in the room was the most comfortable bed I've slept in at a motel. The room was clean, course it was a larger room because it is a handicap room. Very nice. We will stay here again the next time we travel to Carson City. Hopefully we can get that room again. This stay was our second stay. We stayed here going to Carson City.
The only thing, the outlet in the bathroom I could not get the plug to go into the outlet. I moved the coffee pot to another outlet and we had our coffee.

Beatty is a cute little town with lots to see. Everything is walkable. The town hosts a little herd of wild desert burros, and they are quite the show. Truly something see! The casino is in the process of being re-furbished, but the metal work is something to behold. We had a nice and quiet room and everything was tidy and clean.
Beatty is on a route frequented by 18-wheelers so there is traffic noise. Our room was shielded from noise, so we were lucky. FYI!

Been here several times now and it’s always a convenient place to stay, close enough to DVNP. Easy check-in/out, friendly staff. Appreciate the mini fridge and microwave in the room. Restaurants are within walking distance.
Not enough parking. There seems to be some type of ongoing construction on the building out front, with parking spaces blocked off. There are also groups of motorcycles, each taking their own parking space. Seems they could combine their bikes two to a space, or the property offer specific bike parking. It’s much better to be on the second floor, so you don’t awake early morning to the sound of a motorcycle revving right outside your window.
