A gem of the Mount Rainier area, rich in history and charm, with quirky touches such as a mysterious lighted trail you can follow through the forest, a pond stocked with fish you can feed, and even a friendly cat who hangs around the property looking for attention. Bonus points for the old-time parlor where you can while away a night playing board games, doodling on the piano, or just relaxing by a roaring fire. If you're tired of cookie-cutter motels and relish the chance to step back in time, this is the place for you.

Beautiful area and house. The lodge itself is an older building, but it is well maintained and its rooms are updated. We were pleasantly surprised to find that our bed was a memory foam mattress, which we sunk right into and had a great night's sleep. Another pleasant surprise was the parlor in the lodge! It was very cute with lots of boardgames and more. We enjoyed going down there and picking out DVDs to watch in our room on the DVD player. Made us feel like kids at grandma's house again. The back of the lodge was pretty and quaint too, with the lake and birds that we watched come out for the nice weather. It was a great spot for a convenient stay right outside of Mt Rainier NP. We definitely recommend and will come again.

This was a really good option for my visit to Mt. Rainier National Park - it's only a few miles away from the entrance gate. It's located near a few restaurants and the property is nestled in the woods. It's an older historic motel, but it's comfortable with appropriate updates. The staff was very kind and helpful. The bed and room was very cozy - and each morning included a free breakfast. They have a library of DVDs, books, and games to use during your stay.

Staying near Mt. Rainier isn't cheap - most options are fairly expensive. But this motel was one of the cheaper options.

Bed was very comfortable! Room was clean. Location of place was perfect for our hiking Mt. Rainier needs. We only stayed to sleep and shower but it was nice. Nice fridge, microwave and coffee maker.

Room had a weird odor, which was discovered it was a pet friendly room which was not disclosed. No allergies, no harm. It was the only thing we didn't like about the room. Otherwise, it was great! Still gave 5 stars because the comfortable bed and location was worth it!

Staff was very friendly. Location is close to Mt. Rainier entrance and the few restaurants there are in Ashford. Breakfast was provided for our entire stay in our fridge. The grounds are awesome with a pond with fish, a tiny path, chairs to sit outside, flowers, and forest.

There is no elevator to the upper floor.

Great location by the Mt Rainier Nisqually entrance gate. Only took us two minutes driving to get there from the lodge. Nice rustic interior with a beautiful natural looking pond. Water pressure was good, and the heat promptly turned on when we increased the temperature. Having WiFi was also a plus, where we could do some research before entering the park, though a little slow.

Was a little pricey - $500+ for two nights for one room with two queen beds. Bed mattresses in room #4 also were uncomfortable and desperately need to be replaced as they sink in the middle. Some of the rooms require going up/down a set of stairs which may be a little difficult for the elderly.

I loved the free breakfast that they deliver right to your door. There are a couple different options that you choose the night before. That was something I had never experienced before and I thought it was lovely! The staff was amazing, friendly and super helpful.

The room we stayed in was quite small. It was the most budget friendly option with a detached bathroom. So we had to walk just outside our room door to get to our bathroom,..which was really quite big and nice!

They called me to clarify what yurt is in terms of no water, 40 feet walk for bath room. They did not clarify where is breakfast. Therefore we wait until 7AM while it is already in refridgerater a night ago.

The location is awesome. Just next to Mount Rainier The facility was comfortable for our family of 4. Bathroom was clean and shower had good warm water The place has a beautiful pond and a lovely tree

Some insects in the bathroom esp. on ground floor The air-conditioning / heating can be noisy

Proximity to the park. The breakfast basket was a lovely touch. The hotel is cozy, charming, welcoming, eccentric, clearly an older historic building but in a charming way. The games and the gigantic lounge were a really nice touch. Grounds are absolutely lovely.

Rooms are a touch small but not much to be done about that.
