I love this property — it feels almost like a homey guesthouse in all the nice, intimate ways. The staff is great, and remembers me when I return. The rooms aren’t large but they are very comfortable and well appointed. The rooms aren’t large impeccable clean, the bed very comfortable, the shower good, and towels are nice — and nice bath products. It’s right in the center of Westwood so it’s convenient and I feel very safe coming and going there as a solo traveler.
Breakfast is very simple — self serve coffee machine (available 24 hrs), yogurt and a pastry (croissant or bagel), same each day.

The reception staff were extremely kind and courteous. The breakfast coffee machine was a great amenity, and they had a good workspace near the reception area, which was very convenient.
I found that not having an elevator can be a bit inconvenient at times, especially since my room was on the third floor. However, the staff were always willing to carry my luggage or bags to my room, which was appreciated. Another issue I encountered was that, on two occasions during my stay (which was split into two periods), the housekeeping staff changed the sign I had placed on my door from "Clean the Room" to "Do Not Disturb." The first time, I thought I might have made a mistake, but the second time I took a photo and confirmed that they had altered it. I didn’t find this to be very courteous.

So, I've been to my fair share of hotels around the world. Was looking for a place in LA that didn't break the bank but was still decent and in a good spot. This hotel seemed like it hit the mark, but then I saw some mixed stuff in the reviews, especially on Google, which made me second guess (I'm from Europe so take this with the grain of salt) We ended up staying here for over 10 days, and now that I've seen a lot of what LA has to offer, here's my two cents: Area: It's safe, at least for LA. It's pretty much on a university campus, plus you've got Target, Trader Joe's, and Whole Foods just a short walk away. Location: Pretty spot-on. 2 mins off the freeway, a quick drive to Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, and Santa Monica. Parking: Managed to find street parking almost every night Hotel: Clean and cozy, no complaints here, boutique-like (but American :)) Staff: Mostly friendly folks. The manager had her grumpy moments, but that's just how it goes sometimes. Wasn't expecting the red carpet or anything. Price: For when we stayed, it was a steal. Would've cost us 3x more anywhere else.
Now, downsides Noise: Yeah, the walls are kinda thin. Could hear the neighbors, but luckily they were chill. Breakfast: Don't expect a feast. It's just coffee, bananas, and a croissant. Still, not too bad. Room size: We booked the regular one, I think I'd upgrade next time as it was too small comparing to regular European standard That's about it. I'd give it a solid 9 mark if you're searching for a decent European-looking "value for the money" hotel in Los Angeles.

This was our fourth stay at a Paligroup hotel, having stayed in San Francisco, Carmel-by-the-Sea, Santa Barbara, and finally Los Angeles. As expected, the experience at Palihotel Westwood Village was consistently wonderful. The hotel embodies a mix of mid-century modern with Parisian eclecticism, all set in a delightful historic building that was once home to Westwood Village’s first-ever hotel from 1939. It’s undoubtedly the most stylish, design-forward hotel in Westwood Village. It’s evident that Avi Brosh, the owner, oversees nearly every detail from development to operations and design. The attention to creating spaces that are both stylish and comfortable really enhances the guest experience.
On a friendly note for improvement, it would be a nice touch if Paligroup could recognize when a guest is staying at multiple properties during their trip. Something as simple as a small treat or even a personalized welcome card in the room would elevate the experience even more.

The employees were extremely helpful and accommodating. The lobby was darling, the coffee machine and cold water were wonderful. The bagels/croissants in the morning were good. The front patio was nice to sit on while waiting for Ubers etc The room and the facilities were very very clean, spotless in fact. The location was amazing for visiting UCLA.
I reserved a King size bedroom, there was no mention of it being a small room or a large room. The room was European tiny. There was literally no place to put your luggage for even one person, much less two people. No luggage rack or even stand. We had a hard time walking around each other to dry our hair etc. The walls of the rooms were paper thin, and you could hear every step of the people above you. It was impossible to open your window so you had to use the AC which was just freezing air blowing on your head all night, the TV should be on the AC wall side and the head of the bed on the other.

I love Pali Society in general. (the one in Santa Barbara is my fave). This one was a little lackluster. Cute enough. Not an obvious theme. just a sweet Art Deco building, and neat architectural features like rounded bay windows. It was made preppy with plaid carpeting like a Graduate Hotel in a college town. TBH - I'd prefer more Classic Hollywood to match the 1930s Westwood theaters. Good lighting. As always, some fun design touches and objects. But some choices overlook function, e.g. we squinted to see room numbers which nearly invisible embossed #s on little squares of leather. Overall I'd call it very clean and overall comfortable for a quick weekend. Cuter than average. Perfect location for UCLA etc. LOVELY staff and vibe.
But nothing all that special. Basic room size in #216 (and I paid for a larger room so standards are prolly even smaller). Mattress was just a disappointment with a topper. Choices on temp were: Cold air blowing on your head while sleeping (confusing heat pump) or turn it off and be sweaty by 3am. I heard neighbors above and below. I was sad that the cute lobby with quaint dishes served truly the weakest breakfast options like a cafeteria might -- pre-packed single serve croissants, basic grocery-store yogurts, Keurig-like coffee machine with a line of people. Not even a hard boiled egg. I didn't expect a spread but this was not on brand at all. I walked a block to Ministry of Coffee (YUM).

I had a wonderful sleep in this small, quiet, boutique like hotel on the outskirts of the busy Westwood/UCLA area of Los Angeles. it's located just two blocks away from both the downtown Westwood area with tons of restaurants, a farmers market, the free Hammer Art Museum and other people watching places. In the other direction lays the UCLA campus that is accessed on the Geffen School of Medicine and urban Arboretum side. All very walkable. Easy access to the freeway to get you to the rest of LA. I checked in a bit early with no problem and had to cancel my last reserved day with a quick credit applied. Rooms were spotless. The grab and go breakfast suited my needs - strong coffee, yogurt and a pastry. Fruit, bagels and jam were also available.
There is no elevator so I was given a choice of first or second floor. Staff would be able to help with luggage if needed. Valet parking was a bit expensive so I chose instead to use street parking on the block which is paid every two hours during the daytime. I downloaded the Los Angeles parking app to feed the meter. Didn't see any remnants of broken glass so at least when I stayed, the neighborhood was safe.

I really liked the "vibe" of the hotel. The guy at the front desk shared with us that it was built in 1939 and was the first hotel in Westwood. They offered a very nice continental breakfast (coffee, juice, bagels, croissants, fruit, and yogurt), and the whole atmosphere of the lobby is really chill. It's got lots of windows, nice comfy chairs and couches. The people are nice, and we all just said, "hi" to each other, some engaged in chit-chat, and the employees are very personable as well.
The room we had was small. The king-size bed took up the majority of the room. There was no ironing board (but honestly, there was nowhere to put it).

The rooms are well-appointed and comfortable. The room design is well done. It's giving modern vintage apothecary vibes. It's a very cute boutique hotel, which I enjoy over chain hotels. The lobby has complimentary coffee, tea, and water, which is a nice touch. The location was great for us.
You could not stream apps on the TV which could be an easy fix. I thought they offered pastries in the mornings, but I did not see them available. The valet was very slow because there was one guy running back and forth, and it seemed like the cars were parked kinda far. Keeps these guys in shape!

It's always so nice that they have breakfast croissants out! They also had yogurt this time which was lovely. It's also great they have water and candy out in the afternoon. We enjoyed the private side patio as well as the front porch.
Sometimes the coffee machine doesn't work and since it's a single serve machine that means no one gets coffee. Also the rooms are so small it's not comfortable for two people. There is no where to put a second suitcase.
