Pure luxury. We were collected from the ferry into a large bus with water, a cookie, air con and WiFi for the 75 minute ride to The Residence. Very smooth. Room was large with a sea view via a large window with cushioned seating - perfect reading nook. Fridge with water replenished daily. Bed was large and comfy. Housekeeping always came while we were at breakfast - wonderful service. Our room had a private pool which was a must for us - the main pool got very busy with children on the weekends and would not have been enjoyable. Pool depth was 1.2m throughout and a perfect temperature. Breakfast was incredible! Everything from local cuisine to dim sum to freshly assembled soup, eggs, waffles and pancakes as well as croissant etc. lots of juices. Fresh fruit stand where they cut it for you at the time of ordering. Really exceptional. Service was mostly great! I did attend for a farm tour that never happened. Concierge available by WhatsApp which was great for booking the free yoga as well as spa treatments. Restaurants were good, we stayed for 4 nights and didn't have a bad meal. Room service was great, with a full menu for in room dining.

This place is very child friendly, especially on weekends. The weekend breakfast was hard to navigate for all the children running around. If you have come for pure relaxation, book a private pool and avoid the weekends.

The service was absolutely amazing. We felt like we were treated like royalty during our stay. The rooms are really nice and new. There were surprisingly very few mosquitoes, I think I didn’t even get bitten once at the resort, apparently they fog the resort everyday.

It’s a lil far from the ferry terminal. It took us 45 mins to 1 hour to get to the resort from Tanjung Pinang ferry terminal. We went on a long weekend with the horde of tourists from Singapore, and immigration was kinda rough.

There were enough activities to keep my 5yo occupied for 4 days! Great resort for kids. Pool, little farm with rabbits to play and feed, kids club (quite empty when we were there hence activities not run according to schedule but can just walk in to request to do any of the activities), kids spa (my daughter love it)! Food at Rica Rica was superb for us. Had total of 3 meals there! Every restaurant has kids menu and you can modify them according to what your kids want. Staff are super accommodating when it comes to this aspect. Really appreciate! We went to the small village once for seafood at 89 seafood as that was probably the only restaurant nearby (20min car ride). Food was not bad but nothing fancy. Great staff in the resort overall. Great stay and do see ourselves going back again. Only regret is the new bicycles with a seat at the back only arrived on our last day and we didn't get to use them. The ones available during our stay were double bikes for adults hence we didn't get the change to cycle. Buggy service was prompt and no complaints.

Just a little far from everything. 80min bus ride from BBT ferry terminal. No nearby restaurants hence no grab or gojek options.

The layout of the park is excellent, the deluxe villa with a private pool is amazing, and the staff are incredibly friendly. Breakfast was fresh and varied, with plenty of options. The whole place has a luxurious feel, making it a perfect and convenient spot for a few days of relaxation in Singapore.

While the remote location offers peace and seclusion, it also means you’re quite isolated — which is fine for a few days of unwinding. However, this remoteness clearly impacts the pricing. Both the restaurant and the additional services (such as spa treatments and excursions) are significantly overpriced. It’s something to keep in mind when budgeting your stay, as there are no nearby alternatives.

I travelled with 16 months old baby to this place. What I like about it, they literally made my stay the best peaceful stay. They arranged everything I asked for. They arranged a crib with a mosquito net, high chair, potty seat, and bath tub for the baby. They made my life very easy throughout my stay. Coming to baby food, they made everything I asked for. The chef cooked as I asked, and they never said no to anything I requested. They said and did everything with a smiley face—the best baby-friendly I would say. This is my stress free travel I every did with baby. They even shared with me the food menu for baby in advance. We booked this place to celebrate our anniversary - they arranged for a complimentary cake and bed deco in the room. I loved the personal touch they put in making it special for us. Got baby pool, kids play area, farm house with bunnies and peacocks. We loved our stay here and yes definitely will go back again. Only part is got soo many mosquitos but it is fine if you protected yourself and baby with mosquito repellent spray or patches

It is a little far away from the port area. If you are having a kid with motion sickness, it will bea challenge to handle the baby for a 60-minute road trip. But, they even tired to make it as easy as possible with in-vehicle wifi, water, and some food.

Staff fantastic, well appointed, comfortable. Everything you need for a few days relaxation. Choice of food from three restaurants excellent. Local, western and Indian cuisine. Fairly priced. Breakfast as good as it gets. Try the Indonesian coffee. Spa excellent, gum good, fab yoga salon, and kitchen garden great to walk around. Tours well designed and a welcome break from the daily hotel rhythm.

Not bright blue sea white sandy beach. Not swimmable - shallow murky and very warm sea. No beach as such to walk or sunbathe. Not the hotels fault. It is where it is in the South China Sea just south of Singapore

My stay at The Residence Bintan was exceptional. Every staff member we encountered was professional, friendly, and attentive to our needs. Our hotel room was spacious and comfortable, providing a perfect sanctuary for relaxation. The complimentary activities offered were impressive, including kayaking, stand-up paddling, morning yoga, coffee tasting, and even towel art class. We also booked the fireflies tour, which was amazing as we saw lots of fireflies. The large swimming pool, approximately 30 meters in length, was a highlight, and the cocktails served were simply outstanding. This trip truly felt like a retreat, and I would love to return in the future. I wholeheartedly recommend The Residence Bintan to anyone seeking a memorable getaway!

It would be even better if the manicure services included options for gel polish and nail extensions.

We LOVED our stay at The Residence Bintan! We stayed 4D3N and would definitely recommend staying a minimum of 4 nights if you can. We arrived after a 30 hr journey from the UK and could not have had a warmer welcome. Everything about The Residence is amazing. The attention to detail makes it very special. I won’t mention these here so that it’s a surprise for other guests :) If you’re coming from Singapore for the weekend, no need to bring toiletries except suncream as they supply everything. We stayed with our 11 and 14 year old and they loved it too. Plenty to do or also just chill. Fantastic choice at breakfast and fabulous treatments at the spa. Highly recommend! Thanks to all the Team at The Residence for such a wonderful stay.

Just be aware that the journey from the ferry terminal to the hotel is 1.5 hrs & you need to check in for the ferry 1.5 hrs before departure. Food in the restaurants is great but quite pricey, as are the tours, such as snorkelling trip (around £50 per adult inc children 12+).

- Amazing location, apart from all the rest/noise of the island, which creates a very calm relaxing and beautiful vibe - Infinity pool was super nice, very clean, overlooking the ocean and sunsets. Never very crowded for us but we went during weekdays. - Rooms are very spacious and nice touches with their terraces or pools. - Each room have complimentary bikes to move around the resort which is great and gives a cool vibe to it. - Staff were very kind and helpful every time we approached them. - Breakfast buffet was incredible (with both asian and european options). The variety was very big, definitely one of the best (if not the best) breakfast buffer we've seen in an hotel.

Not a negative but 2 things worth remembering: - the hotel is about 80mins shuttle bus from the ferry port (but to be fair, most of the nice hotels in the island are at least 30-40mins away from the ferry port anyways). - location is in the middle of nowhere (which also contributes to its beauty and calm) so you will do everything inside the resort and food/drinks prices are on the expensive side (I'd say European prices which considering you are in Indonesia, it is quite high). Quality is pretty good though. There are 2 or 3 restaurants in the resort. Overall, if your plan is to relax in a resort (and not leave the hotel) and don't mind european prices, then I would definitely recommend this resort yes!

The place was stunning and scenic, offering a truly relaxing atmosphere. The staff were exceptional—attentive and focused on the finer details, which made a big difference. I did notice that the shower area was a bit slippery and slimy, so I reported it to the reception. They responded promptly and sent someone to clean it. While it improved, the area remained slightly slippery when wet, which could pose a hazard, especially for families with children. Each room was thoughtfully equipped with two bicycles, making it easy to explore the resort, and you can even request a buggy if needed. Swim towels were also provided, which was a convenient touch. The pool area was well-maintained, with plenty of seating available for lounging and unwinding. The breakfast buffet was incredible, offering a wide and satisfying selection. One thing to note is that the resort is located a bit further out, so if you’re planning to head out for meals, it can be a bit tricky. Overall, it was a wonderful vacation at the Residence. We already miss it and hope to return again someday!
