This is a unique hotel for its building structure; it is an excellent example of brutalist architecture repurposed. The views from the dining room are just like you see in tourist brochures except these views don't need to be enhanced or filtered. What your eyes see is just unfiltered and beautiful landscapes that will live long in the memory. The hosts and waiting staff are attentive but not intrusive. The food is excellent too. If you do eat at the restaurant then be aware there is one sitting time and the menu is fixed each day so all guests eat together. You can choose how many courses you want to eat. This is all published on the hotel website. The food and its presentation will not disappoint. If you want to you can order a flight of wines to accompany each meal. If you want an experience to live in your memories then this hotel will tick those boxes very well.

This is a unique building in a unique and very beautiful location. The 3-course dinner which is optional is of very high quality and delicious! The view is to die for! Free parking and cheap electrical charging.

Bathroom was too small without room to put your toiletried. There was no cupboard for clothes nor any other place to put clothes apart from a hanging rack which was too high to reach (even for tall people). Breakfast is served at your table on a plate. Everyone gets the same. It is very nicely presented but gives you no choice to pick what you like. E.g. I prefer apple juice and everyone gets orange. I prefer a hartier breakfast (no fruit, sweet stuff) whereas my husband likes pastries, waffles, etc. You get asked about allergies but not about preferences.

The passion of the hotel staff was striking. They are truly proud of this hotel. The dinner was also superb with locally sourced ingredients. The room and common areas have a magnificent view over the valley. And of course for the design entusiasts there is a lot to see too. You can even make use of the community pool in summer, and the area lends itself nicely for hikes/walks.

Some small things could use a little renovation, for example the entrance door was broken when I stayed here, and the outer wall had some cracks as well.

This hotel is in a quiet village and sits in its own grounds above village. There’s an interesting story behind the hotel involving hydro power. Check in was easy once a receptionist was found. My room was lovely and comfortable with great views over the local fjord. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel has a brilliant restaurant with excellent food, definitely worth trying. It’s not a huge hotel and very minimalist. Also a nice quiet village to go for a walk.

Some really nice design details such as the fireplace in the restaurant and some of the chairs. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was very good. Recommend that if you stay here, do take the dinner. It is a set menu and starts at 19:30.

Rooms are small and the bathroom could be better. For breakfast there is no buffet and no choice. Everyone gets a plate with a little bit of egg, cheese, ham and fruit. That’s is☹️

The location and the view from both the restaurant and the room was breathtaking. The bathroom was small, but clean and had all nessessary amenities, the bed was comfortable.

The room could have had some wall hooks, since there was only a small rack, but if you hang anything there the clothes are in the way when you are walking in the room. There was so much of wall space and I think hooks would have been a better/extra option.

The welcome, the room, the staff, the food, all exceptional. The view from all the rooms is spectacular. We have never stayed anywhere with such a view of lakes and mountains. It is like Lake Como in Italy. Sit in the restaurant with fantastic food and wine and just soak up the scenery.

Amazing views in this 1960's historic building. The owners were super helpful and explained us more about the building and history. Breakfast was great, and we also had a good dinner here!

Due to the history, the rooms are a little small for modern standards (lacking a closet). There are some small signs that maintenance is needed here and there. However, it's easily one of the best views I've woken up to.

This hotel is all about location, character and quality. You feel like you're back in the 80ies, on a stylish James Bond set. The view from our room and the dining area was breath-taking and the food (both dinner and breakfast) were a feast for all senses. It's not cheap, but worth it!

There was nothing to dislike at the Hotel, but Nesflaten itself does not have much to offer, unless you are up for some serious hiking.

- Awesome view to the Fjord - Excellent customer service. Everyone is super friendly and helpful - Good dinner and breakfast - They let us get early check-in without extra charge - The sauna is private/you rent it for you a certain hour (only for you and the nice view)

- The rooms are a little small if you are traveling with your dog. - At late night we were cold and since they didn’t have extra blankets in the room, we went to reception to ask for one but it was closed. But, there was a sign saying that you can call to xxx phone number if you need anything, which we did, but they said it was closed… so we didn’t understood then why you offer a phone number if you are not going to help with that…. Finally we slept with clothes 😅
