The hotel is right in the heart of the old town of Coburg. Our window did not exactly faced the Market Square, rather the wall of the old Town Hall, but the overall feeling of staying in a historical building was wonderful. The room was huge and very comfortable. The kitchen was in a separate room and we shared it with another hotel room.

The only problem was the smell in the kitchen. It definitely needs better ventilation. The tourists and the trading activity in the market square and the bakery on the ground floor are rather noisy - the rattling at the cobbled street began quite early in the morning.

Location was amazing! Right on the Altstadt. Room was very large. Water pressure was great. There was an available stove, microwave, refrigerator and pots / pans / dishes.

With the windows open, it is very loud. When they are shut, it's good. When it's 90 out...you want your windows open at night and there were literally hundreds of people walking by all hours of the night.

The hotel was very easy to find right in the heart of the market square. I loved this historical building. I had a very quiet room at the back of the hotel. The kitchen was a bonus and allowed me to prepare basic food. Bed was very comfy. Extras of water and an apple were appreciated and the toiletries. I would definitely stay here again.

The light decor. Windows easy to open. The view of the garden. The breakfast was excellent. Quick responding WiFi. Location. The feeling of space in the room. Good quality bed linen.

Some of the paintwork was a little tired. My room was close to the reception and voices could sometimes be heard quite loudly.

Stayed in Coburg for one night, and The Square Hotel was a good choice for us. It's directly in the city center, you can walk to just about any major location in town, including the Veste Coburg with a thirty min walk. Our room was on the third floor, very tidy, and spacious with a small kitchen inside. Our view looked out over the courtyard. Breakfast is not served, but you can make your own or enjoy one in a nearby Cafe. The instruction to collect the keys were clear and detailed. No problem to get in. Recommended, just consider that there is no elevator in the building.

It is located in the perfect area! Everything is within reach of the hotel! The set up of the room is beautiful and it felt very clean, comfortable, and cozy inside. I love the self check in! The room was prepared nicely for my family and baby. For the location of the property, it was surprisingly very quiet!

There’s nothing much to complain about, honestly! It was just slightly difficult getting up the stairs to the third floor without an elevator. However, I don’t mind! I’d book a room again pretty quickly! I appreciate the staff warning me of this beforehand!

Great location, nice view on main city square. Comfy bed with good bed linen. Room was clean. Wifi worked well. Reasonable price.

Online check-in and a call from a hotel made us panic a bit and read all negative reviews. Yes everything in this hotel saw a better days. But it is clean, bed is perfect, you have yor morning coffee from modern coffeemaker, top location and a view. If you know beforehand that it is a very small hotel in an old building, with no elevator, noisy stairs and floor, old curtains with stains, and a busy square under your window, than everything is just fine.

Space, light, comfortable and well furnished, excellent bathroom and access to a kitchen, spotlessly clean. beautiful view of the market square from our windows and only one flight of stairs, so easy even for us elderly visitors. we didn't hear noise from other rooms, even though some friends in another room were celebrating the opening of their exhibition late into the night. Being a solid old building makes it really quiet. The door key system was really easy and all instructions clear.

We were woken by the slamming of doors and clatter from bakery van delivering to the next door shops at about 5.30am one morning, so if you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs.

Decor is very spartan cheap and cold and not at all in keeping with the historical building.

The hotel is on the city center square and is a VERY old and historic building. The view was fantastic from the room. The room was very spacious and clean.
