The location is fantastic, directly opposite the train station, making it incredibly convenient for travelers. The breakfast selection is varied and delicious, catering to a range of tastes. Close to the JR Yamagata station. A Max Valu supermarket is also just right around the corner. Room is what you expect from standard Japanese business hotel. The TVs show you how busy the public bath is and if the washer and dryers are occupied. WiFi was also pretty good. Free breakfast was great. I read another review that said there wasn’t a lot of variety, but there was very good variety in my opinion for a free breakfast. Good mix of Japanese and Western items. It gets pretty busy, though.

Public spa was fine, but quite small. I didn’t use it but took a look at it when doing laundry.

Nice hotel close to Yamagata Station. Rooms were nice and staff all very friend. Shout out to the parking attendant.. cool guy! :D Good location for travelling to Zao Onsen if you have a hire car. Rooftop onsen was very nice too!!!

Breakfast area can get really busy with a long queue. Wait wasn't too long and the food was great to make up for it. Minor problem really.

Good breakfast and great location while having anything necessary for short stay Hotel is quite big, probably because there is not a lot of hotels, but it is great for this value so can be quite crowdy during breakfast In the end it is great value for your money

Hotel is a bit old and it shows as there is a lot of tear which might be fixed eventually and not really big deal Cleaning stuff doesn't seem to clean around door well so it was a bit surprising to see dirt which is unusual

3-minutes easy walk from the station; very friendly & helpful staff, using Google Translate for me often; enjoyed my breakfasts and evening meals in the restaurant; appreciated the public bath.

A minor issue - would have liked more hanging space for clothes, eg hooks on all doors, a retractable line across the bath tub

Convenient location as an overnight stay, to allow us to visit Risshakuji Temple at Yamadera early next morning. We wanted to be close to the station for easy access to the trains, which this provided. Typical of most hotels in Japan, it was compact, with some novel solutions to provide more space, such as the pull out kettle shelf.

Wide variety of options for breakfast, though best if you like a Japanese breakfast. Certainly did not go hungry, plus there is a big supermarket right behind the hotel. Very comfortable beds. Loved being able to leave luggage after checkout before going to Ginzan Onsen for the day. The location is very convenient to the JR station for trains plus also for catching the bus in the morning to Zao Onsen.

amenities were excellent !The route inn is my hotel of choice when staying in Japan. I loved the public bath and the Japanese breakfast was exceptional. The staff in the restaurant breakfast area were so welcoming and polite, I have not experienced this level of service in 5 star hotels so 10/10 for them. There was one particular English speaking women who may of been the duty manager who was exceptional in both customer service and attention to detail. she is an asset to this property and her English skills were exceptional.

Maybe the male front desk staff could learn some English skills but other than that I can not fault the hotel.

Location is superb about 200 meters from Yamagata train station. The staff is so friendly and very helpful as they helped to contact our rental car and informed that we were going to be late. They also help to keep our luggage. Not to forget free coins for can drinks. Recommended.

They didn’t change the sheets at all despite my strong five nights, which was unusual. Not overly comfortable pillows.
