Very kind owners, flexible to the max and they helped us out when we weren’t able to check-in on the original day. They didn’t have to do that, but did it, which is incredibly kind! The house itself is beautiful with an exciting approach through very narrow roads. The view of Lyon is incredible. The cooking skills of the owners are great, we hade a very good 3-course meal at a fair price. We sat with the other guests at a large table which lead to funny conversations although we lack good French. Breakfast was served in the garden and was a good start of our day.

The only thing we missed during our very warm stay, was AC. I thought the location was equipped with AC, but I was mistaking. The fan which was provided helped, but with 33 degrees during the day it wasn’t enough. Maybe this can be changed in the future, which would make the location even better. But I can imagine it being a chateau there are all kinds of measures and rules to comply with.

After a long travel from the Netherlands we were earlier as expected. We highly appreciated the personal, family reception with a cool beer and some snacks. Romantic location in a pittoresk little town, close to the church with traditional clocks, the dinner was excellent. Yes if you look good some things can be improved or more luxury but for us the personal, characteristic, lovely setting and view were compensating all of these. Unexpected great stay!

The proprietors are very friendly and helpful. We had the dinner which was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. The breakfast was perfect with everything we needed to start our day. The location is perfect with a view. It is so quiet for sleeping and very relaxing. We look forward to our next visit!

Morena and Stephane are extremely nice and friendly hosts. The rooms are comfortable. Location on top of the hill with the nice gardens are unbeatable. Dinner cooked by Stephane is a must.

Rooms are comfortable and up to the standard that you can expect in a 400 year old chateau.

We LOVED our stay! The rooms are beautiful, the views are amazing and the food is excellent! Beautifully set in a medieval little village on the top of a mountain.

just a tip for those traveling by car... Waze will direct you the wrong way up, leading to closed off passages. Use Google Maps to navigate your way to the Chateau.

We really enjoyed our stay at Chateau de Riverie. The hosts are very helpful and friendly and the husband is a professional and excellent cook. We highly recommend this place for a stay of a couple of days. You need to make sure to follow the road instructions from the hosts. Google map will send you down narrow streets along a crazy route.

My wife and I had a marvelous stay with Stéphane and Morena. We had no idea that we would be treated to a star-quality dinner on top of staying in a wonderful property. An amazing find on our way back to Paris. We will be back!

There is nothing we did not like. Even the flight of stairs was fine with Stéphane's great help with our suitcase. There is no complaint what so ever and we'll definitely be back in this wonderful lace.

The castle is a wonderful magical place where you can enjoy a spectacular and unique view of Lyon and a great panorama. The place is simply amazing, the rooms are cozy and designed to offer the best experience. The hosts, Morena and Stephane, are great people, ready to help you anytime and always greeting you with smiles and positive vibes! Very nice hosts who really made an effort to look after their guests. Nice outdoor terrace for individually served breakfast, The room and bathroom were modern and comfortable

It’s important not to arrive before 5.30 as the carpark is shared with the school and was locked by the teachers and we had to wait outside fortunately only for 10 minutes. It’s always difficult after a long drive but it’s clearly stated in the booking instructions

Stunning location (if the weather is good). Very friendly hosts. Top notch cuisine. 'Common room' ambiance with other guests. Dogs everywhere! Garden for al fresco dining.

Signposting - difficult to find. Off the beaten track if you're in a hurry to cover the kilometres.
