I had an absolutely amazing stay! The staff were incredibly hospitable, kind, helpful, and accommodating — they truly went above and beyond to make our visit special. From arranging transport to even taking us to watch the beautiful sunset, their warmth and generosity made us feel completely at home. The hotel facilities were excellent — everything was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with an amazing view of the fort right from our room. It was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Our desert safari experience was equally unforgettable. It was peaceful, well-organized, and filled with thoughtful touches. The team made sure we were comfortable at every step, serving delicious food and drinks, and being incredibly attentive during the camel ride. Special thanks to Baju and Tiger, who were outstanding hosts — kind, welcoming, and full of energy. Overall, our experience was beyond expectations — full of warmth, care, and genuine hospitality. I woulf highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area!

I loved my stay at Shahi Palace, so much so that I ended up extended it twice. I was made feel welcome by all Shahi's staff and very looked after... they even picked me up from the bus station at no extra charge. Special mention to owner Devi who was always up for a good chat. The guesthouse was also great value for money: my room was clean and comfortable whilst the view of the fort from the rooftop was phenomenal. Position-wise, Shahi Palace is not inside the fort but for me that was a conscious choice as it helps keep the latter (I think the only living fort in India) as a non-tourist overrun space for its rightful inhabitants. The entrance to the fort is just a short and pleasant walk away. I didn't have time to do a desert safari, but speaking to someone who had gone, Shahi Palace seems to be one of the best places to book it from. Also, they sell very reasonably priced beer in the upstairs restaurant :-) Definitely looking forward to being back in Jaisalmer and staying at Shahi Palace again.

I stayed 11 nights at Shahi Palace and I just loved it. The owner Devilal is a genial host who is rightly proud of his hotel's reputation. Rather than resting on his laurels, he is always putting the work in to improve things. He really makes guests feel well looked after - for example, on finding out I'm gluten intolerant, he went out of his way to find me local snacks made with gluten free flours to try (they were delicious!) and even made some for me himself as well. He takes takes time to chat to guests, which creates a friendly atmosphere. It's the kind of place where guests talk to each other and you meet interesting people. Akshay, Sunil, Ketharam and the rest of the team do a great job, and their friendly, helpful attitude makes the hotel really stand out. The decor is lovely and there's a fantastic roof terrace restaurant with spectacular fort views. I was definitely glad to be staying outside the fort. For a start, water usage by hotels in the fort is causing serious conservation issues, but also, I just found there was too much tourist hustle in the fort. Visiting the sights there is fine but I wouldn't want to stay in that area. Shahi Palace is in a more peaceful part of town but is only about 10 minutes' walk from the fort gate. The desert trip organised by the hotel was magical. We visited a deserted village, oasis and fort before going for camel ride to the dunes where a tasty dinner was cooked for us in a peaceful spot away from other tourists. We headed back to the hotel for the night, but there was also the option to sleep in the desert under the stars. All in all, a fantastic stay and I would love to come back!

I liked everything!

Amazing hotel, clean and cosy room with very nice bathroom and decoration. Staff is super friendly and accommodating, they give helpful suggestions for you stay in Jaisalmer. We booked a Thar desert safari with the hotel and were guided by lovely and funny Bhoja and Tiger. Intimate route to the sanddunes with camels Darling and Al Pacino, fresh chapati from the camp fire for dinner, singing in the evening and incredible night stay in the open air beneath the stars. Our stay at Shahi Palace was everything we hoped for and more! On arrival, we were given a free room upgrade and were shown the options to choose from. The rooms were all gorgeous so it was hard to choose! The staff at Shahi Palace were so welcoming and helpful, making us feel valued and at home. We were welcomed with a cup of chai in the rooftop restaurant, which is an utterly stunning location. The view to the fort from the restaurant is breathtaking, and we spent many hours there, enjoying the fantastic menu. In fact, the restaurant view, atmosphere and food was so good that we felt reluctant to eat anywhere else! We had the same feeling with our room too, the decoration was beautiful and the bed so large and comfy that it was hard to leave. But when we did leave the restaurant, we were happy to find that the fort and its surroundings were within easy walking distance. If we return to Jaisalmer, we will be sure to stay at Shahi Palace again. Fantastic value, location, staff, food and experience!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at hotel shahi place, and I can't recommend it enough! From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel incredibly welcome with their warm hospitality. The check-in process was smooth and efficient. The room was spacious, immaculately clean, and thoughtfully designed, offering everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was incredibly cozy, and I had some of the best sleep I've had in a while. Overall, I had a fantastic experience, and I will definitely be returning. If you're looking for a place that combines comfort, luxury, and great service, hotel shahi place is the place to stay in Jaisalmer

All was good

We got an upgrade for our room. The room and location is beautiful. It was my birthday during our stay here. It was the most memorable moment. At night, we had candle light dinner on the roof top restaurant. The staff is very polite. The rooms are comfortable. Hot water is available 24hrs. Electric Kettle is provided. Car parking is not available. Will need to park at Fort car parking. The food is so good. I think the best food we ate during our trip was here in this restaurant. Their chicken was soft and full of flavours. Roti was soft. Plus the fort view added to its charm. Breakfast was very tasty. We had sandwiches and poha. It was the best. Loved our stay here.

Hotel is outside the fort and hence very limited options to see or explore at night. But the hotel is worth it.

The owners and staff of the Shahi Palace go above and beyond to help you out during your stay and make you feel welcome - I felt completely at home here! It was lovely to be met at the railway station, even though my train arrived at midnight. The room was large and comfortable, it's quiet at night, and the view from the rooftop is gorgeous. I'm glad I stayed here rather than somewhere inside the fort, as it's a more relaxed neighbourhood and still within easy walking distance of everything.

Staff and managment, made us feel like family and did everything they could to help us prepare for Rickshaw Run adventures during our stay with them. They arranged for pickup at the airport for us. We had the pleasure of joining a overnight stay in Thar Desert with Shahi Camel/Desert safari. It included visiting Kuldhara, a oasis, local village, camelriding to a private dune, food made on bonefire and a night under the stars. We were able to see the Milky way and shooting stars. A night for the memory books.

Nothing

A very well presented small hotel, it was very well kept with great attention to detail in the entrance way and the bedrooms. Beautiful flooring and colourful soft furnishings. Our room was a good size, with a small bathroom. The shower was fine, there was only one afternoon when we didn't have water, but that seemed par for the course on our travels in Rajasthan. Lovely restaurant over looking the fort with delicious food. The host, Akshay was really friendly. He organised the desert tour for us and was able to answer any of our questions. We were there for Holi and he personally took us and some other guests around to his family celebrations and so we really got an authentic experience of that special day. All the other staff were very attentive and kept the place really clean. We had a lovely time here.

The roof terrace only has a couple of seats with a canopy for shade, so not really a place to hang out when it's 37 degrees, but it didn't bother us too much.
