My wife and I are repeat guest at Izu Kansya, the host is gracious and accomodating, the views, rooms, beds and location are excellent. With a friendly and easy mood, we have been able to borrow his kitchen to prepare meals when not feeling like going out, and the local grocery (Aeon Value) is but a short walk along the coastal road. We had planned one visit of three nights at the start of a month long vacation, and when other locations and plans changed, we added a second visit for two nights during the last week of our stay simply because of these reasons and his hospitality.

Honestly, the only downside for me was feeling a bit under the weather for some of the days there, jetlag and travel fatigue, for which this property and host were the perfect respite.

The sunrise sea view from our room was gorgeous. The mofu (comforter) was like a fluffy weighted blanket and the bed was perfect. The owner offered to pick us up from the nearby train station (we did not need), but he did take us with our luggage to the train station on the early morning of our departure. Tap water is drinkable and delicious. Location is very convenient for the bus, with several excellent dining options and beachfront access within easy walking distance.

Only that he books up quickly so we didn't have a chance to return at the end of our month-long vacation.

It’s 5 mins walk from the beach. I stayed on Saturday night. I made to reach there around 3 pm so that I can enjoy the sunset from my balcony. And I’m glad I did. It was nice. I enjoyed eating snacks and drinks in the balcony by overlooking at the ocean and beautiful pink clouds and mountains. And there was a market on the next day, Sunday, it was like a high end flea market. I found great products for very low price! It was a good Sunday with a live performance.

No, onsen available for only one person. But in return the owner dropped me to a near by onsen. And the view from putdoorbath ( Rotenburo) was incredible! I was the only one at that time so I felt like it’s private property. Watching the ocean from the outdoor bath was awesome! And the owner was kind enough to call that onsen to find out what time the Onsen is opened for outside guests.

Our host was very friendly and offered to collect us from the station when we arrived. The stay was very cosy, and a short walk to the beach front road. We enjoyed the large bedroom and living area.

The general area did not offer a large range of eating options, although the ones we found were good and moderately priced

Location is great, my second time here. Beds are comfortable. It's a bit dusty but ok in general. The host is amazing, he met me on my arrival day and took me to the station on the last day.

So sad that the free breakfast isn't available anymore like last year. Air-conditioning is working but some options (like changing the direction) aren't available. Fridge didn't work.

I liked this hotel a lot! It is located in front of a beach, it's close to the station, the host is a nice person. He served basic breakfast and took me to the station on my way back. I saw some people complaining about breakfast and I don't understand why. It is stated it will be basic. Two toasts, an egg or a sausage and a drink. I eat less for breakfast when I cook it myself. And it's free. The rooms are exactly like on the photos, it's very clean. From amenities you have shampoo, conditioner, body soap, and a tooth brush.

The place is clean and comfortable. staff is really nice. I travel by myself so it was really nice to have the room close to sea. Really recommended.

Everything perfect, but 3rd floor got a little weak internet connection so it’s a little difficult for business trip.

- very flexible host. We had to shorten our stay last minute and could do so without any hassle. - great view of the sea - spacious room - balcony

- balcony wasn’t very clean, especially the chairs and table - no AC in the hallway - practically no way to keep daylight from entering the room. We were awake at 5:30 am

Great location, a few steps off the beach promenade. We came here for the option of using the kitchen and the big rooms. Being able to prepare our own meals was really convenient when on a budget. Rooms on the third floor have a great view. Spa was simple but roomy and very clean.

Internet was so-so. Rooms on the second floor don't have a view. Breakfast (included) was very basic.

The private bath is really lovely. It’s not an onsen one but it’s so nice at the end of the day. The room was big and our room had a lovely view. The bathroom was very clean and we had a lovely stay!

The balcony was a little dirty so we didn’t sit outside but apart from that the stay was great.
