Traditional style of hotel, sited on the road to Aurich, but within walking distance of town centre, museums and main attractions. Compact, but very comfortable and quiet room will relatively small, but fully functional and well-provisioned, bathroom. Staff very friendly and helpful with advice and directions. There is a Greek restaurant on the premises, but this was closed for annual leave for much of August.

Distant from the railway station and requiring a taxi ride or one's own vehicle. There is a bus to the station from across the road, but this may require arranging for it to stop in advance, which requires further investigation. The driver stopped when I flagged him down, but I was admonished sternly for not having made a reservation for him to stop. Staff will call for a taxi, if needed. No lift or laundry service.

Very good location. Price adequate to the standard.

Comfortable, clean and quiet room. Met all expectations.

Free parking. Reasonable location for walking to town centre.

Reception. Having to phone to be told which is your room is not the most welcoming experience. The Wifi was very unstable, dropping out continually and not reconnecting. Room was made up for one (though booked for two), had to ask for additional pillow and duvet.

Off-street parking for my vehicle. Proximity to a fine Greek restaurant. Cheap.

Lack of a lift. Slightly unsalubrious area of the town, about 15' walk from the centre. Not terribly modern facilities, no lift.

Room itself is nice - but outside of room (entrance and back of hotel) really need a clean up - lots of cigarette butts and empty drink bottles at back etc- bicycle storage did not feel super secure

The bedsheet is not totally clean.

I arrived later than expected to check in and wasn't able to check in. The hotel made no attempt to contact me.
