The hotel is in a beautiful location on a lake. The building is old fashioned and romantic but the bedrooms are very well equipped and comfortable. The food is really wonderful - gourmande French cooking.

Everything was lovely but the breakfasts were nothing particularly special.

The breakfast was very good. The staff were very attentive.

I was a bit disappointed that the room was on the first floor as I have mobility problems. I did email and ask for few steps or stairs which was agreed in their return email.

Tea making at breakfast a little difficult Hot water for the tea was not bowling. Tea pots too small and were bad pourers. Tea cups difficult to hold if the cup was hot

My suite Had no mini bar so there was no drinking water in the room

The location on the lakeside is spectacular, we sat and had a beer from the hotel bar next to the waters edge, lovely. The evening meal was nice but a bit fussy for us with numerous starter courses. The breakfast was great with plenty of choice.

Care of swimming pool surrounds & access passages. It was admittedly said to be closed due to heating problems, but even so it looked neglected.

Service in the restaurant was very poor. we were ignored for nearly 45 mins until the manager ( not the head waiter )took over and served us.. We could not understand it . We were the third table to be seated, about ten other tables were then seated and served before us. There was an ant in one of our glasses of wine when it eventually came. The wine list was very expensive and may be the fact that we ordered the least expensive was a factor in the service.

The garden was beautiful and being next to the lake is stunning.

The pool needs a lot of renovation. There were dangerous metal clips on the decking. The rooms are also carpeted and need updating - especially the bathrooms.
