We were welcomed by the family that own Makarma with such warmth! Our children played with theirs and we felt very comfortable. A lovely space to come and relax or use as a base! We also utilised the Jeep tour which was amazing (thanks Wayan)! All of the staff were so helpful and couldn’t do enough to help us or answer questions! The bikes were well priced to rent to which was good! Nice clean pool and good size too! Restaurant served very nice food and we even had friends over to join us one evening because the food was so yummy! Thanks everyone for having us!

Rooms were quite basic with no kettle but perfect for a base to stay in and excellent value for money!

We had a wonderful stay at Marakma Resort, a lovely family-run hotel in a peaceful area – perfect if you’re looking to truly relax. The surroundings are beautiful, with plenty of space and a nice atmosphere. The restaurant is excellent, with affordable prices, and we enjoyed dinner there every night. It’s also very convenient that the beach is just a 10-minute walk away. The hotel offers a great swimming pool, as well as a special place for yoga, which adds to the relaxing vibe. A highlight for us was that they let our kids try playing the traditional Sasak instruments – such a unique experience. You can also take a walk nearby and spot monkeys, which was a fun surprise. Overall Marakma Resort is a charming and welcoming place with lots of character, and we’d definitely recommend it.

The only downsides were that the water tap in our bathroom didn’t work properly, splashing water everywhere when we washed our hands or brushed our teeth, and one of the light bulbs was broken, so the room felt a bit too dark.

We absolutely loved Makarma! It’s a family-run business and feels so homely. The family came up to us and introduced themselves and recommended some places around Senggigi. That itself made a huge difference to our stay. The pool area is really nice and well looked after. They provide free towels for the pool too as well as a really good food and drink menu. The rooms are nice and modern and even have Netflix. The bathrooms are lovely. You can easily rent motorbikes.

Absolutely nothing! This is the first place we have been where there’s been nothing that we didn’t like.

I think it used to be a resort before but it felt more like a homestay. They just have construction going on and building nice, new little villas. They also got hammocks in front of every little villa for relaxing, reading a book, having a beer or cocktail ☺️ The owner are super nice and call you by name - what feels familiar & welcoming.

Unfortunately the owners live close by and there’s always movement & chattering. Unfortunately, the wifi didn’t work properly - if you don’t have a Indonesian SIM card, you’re fu***d. Also the TV didn’t work proper (traveling alone needs sometimes some TV). But: I WOULD STAY AGAIN😀

We had an amazing week staying at Makarma. We were made to feel like part of the family and felt right at home. The location was perfect for us as we were in a nice quiet area but still only a 5min bike ride away from some restaurants. The room was clean, aircon was great and the bed was super comfy. I can’t recommend Makarma enough for your visit to Senggigi!

We loved our stay at Makarma. After travelling for a few months, this is one of the few places that actually exceeds the photos and expectations. The staff is extremely friendly and always helpful. A very nice property and definitely worth the affordable price! Only this is that it’s a couple mins from Senggigi area but there are scooters for rent and the family dropped us off in the town free of charge!

Really loved this place, great friendly staff that are so helpful with bike hire, things to do, etc. Even had our laundry done here and it turned out good. Great pool space for all the guests, chill vibes, yoga in the morning, free coffee/tea, the restaurant on site is so cheap and so good as well. Would come back.

We stayed in the Brown House and the bathroom was very open to the elements and due to this we had a few insects come in, but nothing too major and I really wouldn’t let this put you off.

I liked everything! The location is ideal for those demanding elbow room and a peaceful setting which is hard to come by in the built up areas where most accommodation is located. It is also well away from that dreadfully noisy main road. It is still just 5 minutes walk down to a black sand beach down a narrow alleyway. They offer a hitch on a bike to Sengiggi for free. It's about 3km away. The property covers thousands of square meters with grass and trees. Chickens wander the park and there are 4 small sleepy dogs. The pool is delightful as is the dining area overlooking it. I had a cheap room but it was still spacious and bright with an open bathroom and air-conditioning. I booked 3 nights and stayed a week.

A small table or bench inside would have been the cherry on the cake for me.

Very friendly staff and exceptional food. Food available from 7:30 am to 10:00 pm at a very cheap prize. They offer motorbike rental. Room and bathroom okay for what you pay, correct water pressure and temperature.

Lots of bugs around and inside the room, i don’t recommend having any food inside the room because it will get full of ants!

We arrived and got directly greeted as family ❤️. Everyone is super friendly and we absolutly enjoyed to stay with them. Eka helped us with some tours, we laughed and sit with everyone together, every evening. The rooms are very beautiful, the food is good, everyone is very friendly and it was a super experience! Highly recommended
