This hotel fully reflects the unique atmosphere in this mountain hamlet in arguably one of the most remote parts of Northern Greece, a mere stonesthrow away from the border with Albania. What stands out the most is the heartwarming hospitality of its owners - with the lady of the house being Italian from Como and her husband Voios, fluent in Italian, who grew up in this very compound. Voios also built the wing housing the guest rooms from scratch by himself, emulating the way of construction of his ancestors' former living quarters in exactly the same location.

As the location is at over 1000 meters above sea level, the temperatures tend to be a bit chilly. We weren't fully prepared for a rather cold night, considering that it was already mid-June.

The Al Monte Hotel is a beautiful and peaceful hotel located in the heart of the Prespa region of Greece. The hotel is family-run and the owners are incredibly friendly and welcoming. They go out of their way to make sure that their guests have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The rooms at the Al Monte Hotel are spacious and well-appointed. They are decorated in a traditional Greek style and have all the amenities that you need for a comfortable stay. The beds are very comfortable and the linens are always fresh and clean. The Al Monte Hotel is located in a quiet and peaceful area of the Prespa region. The hotel is surrounded by stunning mountain scenery and there are plenty of opportunities for hiking and exploring the local area.

The super friendly host. The authentic breakfast. The quietness in the remote small traditional village with chickens walking freely around and singing birds on the roof. Nature all around. The walk on the island in the lake (12km). Watching the majestic pelicans.

There are only a few walking tracks in the neighbourhood. There are only a few options for diner (at hotel or 20 km drive). Diner at the hotel is basic but fine. Nice place for lovers of nature for a short stay of 2-3 nights.

Al Monte is a well hidden gem, that will make your stay in Prespes unforgettable. Clean, cosy and most importantly personal, it can become your dream little hotel, for a day or a week. Vaios will be a perfect host, a trusted guide, and a smiling friend. Go to Al Monte, you will always thank me for that.

Beautiful traditional building, carefully restored to its former glory by the owner. Spacious, warm rooms, huge beds and delicious home made breakfast. The owner was very welcoming and made us feel very comfortable. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting this beautiful part of Greece.

Room very comfortable, bathroom more than adequate, neat and tidy premises, breakfast and dinner very good food, service perfect and host Vajo is an absolute legend. So helpful and I have made a good friend with him. I cannot state enough that for a village this hotel is exceptional, beyond my expectations, you will not be disappointed. It’s a lovely place, peaceful and glorious to see village life in todays world. I wish Vajo every success and I will be back one day.

Only shower curtain a little annoying but nothing else.

The reconstructed house is absolutely magical in its appearance. Its owner was born here and, according to his own words, spent ten years renovating it. The hotel is run by a married couple who obviously devote all their time to this establishment. It's a great place to start your excursions in the surrounding countryside, which hides something of its history at every turn.

This is a gem of a hotel in one of the most quiet villages of Greece. The Prespes area is beautiful beyond belief and very peaceful. The hotel has been beautifully renovated by Vaios, a great person who will sit with you and give you a lot of information about things to do. Great breakfast with homemade pie, jam and honey. Vaios is also a beekeeper, an opportunity to buy some organic top quality honey! Finally the air is extremely fresh and temperature significantly lower than in areas at sea level because it's 1100 meters above sea level. We slept with a duvet in the middle of a heatwave in Greece. This is the best place for a relaxing and very authentic summer holiday in Greece away from the busy, expensive and overrated islands!

We had a very nice stay during the 2024 Easter celebrations at this beautiful bed & breakfast. The owner Mr. Vaios and his family welcomed us warmly and provided a great service beyond our expectations. We will definitely visit again.

Traditional Greek architecture, a great homemade breakfast, and a quiet place for relaxation at the very end of northwestern Greece. It is close to the scenic Prespa lakes and other places worth visiting.
