We stayed here for 3 nights in November in a super deluxe room with private balcony and Ganga view, and would have liked to stay longer. The room was large, comfortable and clean. There were great views from our balcony and the rooftop restaurant. The restaurant is great- delicious food with good price although a long wait at times. There is a music school in the building and my husband had a couple of sitar lessons. The hotel offers yoga, massage and various tours. We did an evening boat tour which was quite an experience. I recommend arranging the hotel to collect you on arrival because cars, rickshaws and tuk tuks can’t enter the nearby narrow lane ways nearby so they send porters to help with your luggage and guide you.

I had a wonderful experience at Ganpati Guest House in Varanasi, located right on the banks of the holy Ganga River. The hotel arranged a taxi and porter for a small fee, which made it easy and convenient to reach the property and also ensured a smooth return trip to the airport. The hotel is very well maintained, and the on-site restaurant serves delicious and flavorful food. I also took part in their guided walking tour, which was excellent. Within 4 to 5 hours, we were able to visit several important temples, witness the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti, and enjoy a serene boat ride all the way to Assi Ghat. Please note, this is a classic heritage-style hotel, and the building is older—as one should expect in a historic city like Varanasi. Overall, I highly recommend Ganpati Guest House for a comfortable and culturally rich stay.

ganpati guest house is the best choice:for our stay in Varanasi we chose ganpati and it was an excellent choice, the location is perfect in the center of Varanasi very close to the ghat and the main attractions, the structure is really nice and clean with a terrace where you can dine (excellent cuisine) overlooking on the ganges,the staff were very kind and helpful for each tour, we chose the heritage walking tour with Sanjet, really recommended if you want to get to know the real Varanasi, they also provided us with a taxi from the airport to the outward and return journey and a person who comes to meet you take edhere's the short piece where the car can't reach, everything is really fantastic, definitely the best choice for quality, price, location, food and services available in Varanasi, thanks Ganpati, Sara and Ben

Staff was excellent. We had the best help getting to the Ganpati and back to the airport. We had a lovely walking tour. And when we needed early breakfast on the day of departure and the cook wasn’t able to get there because of the rain, the restaurant business person made us toast. The onsite restaurant was good, and so nice that it has a rooftop overlooking the river.

The location is a challenge - Ganpati is located on the bank of the river, thru a maze of narrow pedestrian alleys. When the river is high as it was during our stay, it’s not possible to walk along the riverbank to get there. And if you arrive on a Monday morning, or a holiday, all paths are so crowded with pilgrims visiting the Golden Temple that it’s almost impossible to get thru without a guide.

When we booked Ganpati we knew it was not cheap for the kind of accommodation they offered, but the comments about the location convinced us. The reviews were right, there's no better place to stay in Varanasi than right in front of the Ganges, the heart of the city. There are other places with similar views but those are even more expensive, so this was a perfect choice for us. We could walk (or take a boat) to almost every place of interest and walking always turned out to be an adventure in this fascinating city. The staff was very helpful when we needed information and transport. The room and bed were comfortable, and the restaurant had tasty food and a great waiter, very friendly and funny.

The shower was messy, the kind we were trying to avoid all over India, with a small curtain that doesn't prevent the bathroom from getting wet. Spending time on the balcony is lovely, but it would be much better if they had more comfortable chairs.

Great property, with beautiful view over the Ganga. Also beautiful internal courtyard with plants, ideal for a break from the sun and relax. Room are simple but good, but mine didn't have any window (as it was facing the internal courtyard)

Service can be improved. Overall okay but they are not super helpful with recommendations and activities. Also denied a late check out (saying they needed to clean it for next guests) although the whole property was clearly empty, which I didn't really appreciate

We loved this guest house, located directly on the ghats and in the center of this incredibly vibrant sacred area. The rooms are simple and a bit dark but have everything you need, including working aircon. The restaurant was good - I highly recommend the banana fritters!!! The staff was most helpful, particularly the general manager, Pandey, who made us feel truly welcome and supported!

It’s just beautiful, colorful with cool door handles. Get a balcony on the Ganges if you can. They have really comfy seating out there. If not, they have cool spots to sit all around. The staff was also great. They helped you to and from the city through the mazes of old town. I missed my train and they let me hang out there until a taxi could come hours later.

Being an American, I found the narrow alleys pretty gross. I might have learned how to get to and from the hotel by the end of my stay. Although I didn’t feel free to roam on my own, the staff were super helpful. They carried my luggage both ways multiple times. I would say this is a great location if you want easy access to everything, but I found the location a little hard to deal with.

Literally everything. From the pick up service, to the location, the hotel restaurant, the amazing customer service from the reception desk, Vipinji, the hotel Team, the layout of the hotel, the designs of the hotel and the rooms. Incredible roof top view, access to the Ganga, main attractions and the famous alleyways. Incredible pickup team at the airport with Naresh, and my amazing personal guide or Bali/Rajendraji. I saw all of Varanasi by foot and with the right level of personalization and must see items. Food quality very high and clean At no point did I feel like I wasn’t being taken care of or that my Varanasi experience was being short changed. Literally the best decision I made was to stay at this location.
