Nice room, with its own fridge and microwave. There is a bar downstairs that serves food and drinks. Most pleasant surprise for me was the free to use laundry with washer and dryer :)

It is right next to the main street, so bring your earplugs, if you are a light sleeper. I had an ensuite room and there was no bathroom door and no way to dim out the light from the bathroom windows. For it being winter, I could have used a second blanket, but there was a heat blanket on the bed and I probably could have asked for it at reception, but forgot - so partly my fault ;)

Staff were warm and friendly. We had a comfortable, quiet twin room with good beds. It was useful to also have chairs and large desk. There were good facilities for preparing simple meals, both in our room and in an additional kitchenette. Many different kinds of tea were provided, plus milk and coffee. Our room had a sparkling new en-suite shower room with plenty of towels, as well as soap and shampoo. All this for a great price, so a fantastic budget option.

Excellent accommodation, staff helpful and friendly. Room clean, comfortable bed and pillows. Even though it was at a hotel it was very quiet. Room had everything we needed even free washing, drying machine and laundry detergent within the complex. Close to town, near to supermarket and cafes. Meals at the hotel were excellent. I recommend this accommodation for anyone staying in Smithton.

I really liked the Bridge Hotel. It was a short walk from the very centre of Smithton. The beds were comfy and the staff friendly. Even when my room didn't need servicing, they still gave me fresh towels and serviced the room. I took the cheaper hotel room option, rather than the motel rooms, and that meant I had a view over the town, a glimpse at the Duck River and could see the Anzac tree lit up at night. One of the staff carried my suitcase up the stairs since it was getting rather heavy with souvenirs by then. The meals in the bistro were good. I particularly liked having a toaster and microwave oven in addition to the usual jug and fridge. They even had Arnott bickies in addition to the teabags - haven't had bickies in a hotel room for years.

The room was a little shabby, for example, a couple of knocks in the paint-work and a small rent in the lace curtain, but the block-out curtain was fine.

The room was clean and comfortable and appointed with everything we needed. Plenty of lighting options from bright over the mirror to low on the wall and bedside lights too. We highly rated the Australian fine China mugs, much better than the usual duraceram found in hotels.

Forgot to mention to reception that the basin drain is running very slow and probably needs cleaning out.

Zero my favourite base

Easy to find the hotel. Good location. Supermarket a short walk. Bottle-shop on site (if that is important to you). It is a lively local hotel, so is busy with regulars. Restaurant on-site (not sampled). Well-equipped room.

I was located above the bar, so it was relatively noisy until 22:00, but if you don't want this - specify a motel room across the car park (of which there are plenty)

Staff were very helpful, value for money. Comfortable and clean. Amenities well attended to and clean.For the price couldn't ask for more. Seniors meal deal was good value as well. Overall good inexpensive place to stay for Smithton.

Good ensuite room. Free onsite car parking. Good dinners in the bistro. Short walk into town centre for shops, cafes etc. Handy location for Tarkine Drive.

Interior a bit jaded, rooms could do with redecorating. My bathroom had no mirror or door, a bit odd, but overall nothing to complain about.

Odd question - was the hotel romantic? Romance is how you make your holiday yourself. Bridge Hotel was an economical stay with friendly, helpful staff and the presentation was clean. Great value meals with excellent value for seniors.

There was nothing to dislike. We are realistic. The hotel was cheap and the stay gave us very good value. We were in the area as tourists and bushwalkers and did not spend a lot of time in the room.
