Almijara Residence is small and personal. I was astounded by the level of attention to detail. The proprietor, Maurice, couldn’t have been kinder or more helpful. It is clearly not just a business. The room was delightful with everything needed including a very comfortable bed and pillows and soft white bath sheets. The breakfasts were outstanding, set on a beautiful sun-terrace. Different each morning, they were delicious and freshly prepared with care and included fresh juices, excellent coffee and tempting dishes. Recommendations of where to visit in town included sites, restaurants and a lovely cocktail bar, and further afield with advice on travel arrangements. Cómpeta is a beautiful town, friendly, well-serviced, and a wonderful base to explore in itself and to explore from.

It’s atmospheric, authentic, and utterly charming. The rooftop is a standout—both for the panoramic views and the amazing breakfasts. Rooms are stylish and spotless. While some are compact and small, they’re still comfortable. But what really makes this place shine is the warm, friendly and personal welcome from Maurice. His energy add a personal touch. I absolutely loved my stay in this beautiful and lovingly curated place. The location is perfect - right in the heart of a magical village with a charming plaza, wonderful restaurants, unique little shops, and a peaceful, welcoming atmosphere. I slept incredibly well, and everything about the space felt serene and special. The owner is warm and thoughtful, and the breakfast was both delicious and beautifully presented. You can really feel the love in every detail - from the fresh flowers and lovely nuts to the traditional wine waiting in the room. Everything was spotless and well organized. It was a truly unforgettable experience, and I can’t wait to come back.

Just a fabulous place right in the square overlooking the restaurants and sore streets off it . The rooms are compact and we expected this as it is a traditional town house but they have made exceptional use of the space . Fantastic communication from Maurice who is the perfect host . Breakfast is freshly prepared and delicious , we eat anything and everything so the " I have prepared this today offering" worked perfectly for us . Great little honesty bar very reasonably priced indeed . Use of a communal kitchen so you can make hot drinks and get filtered water .You obviously get the noise of the hustle and bustle of the square and the church bells which chime from 8am to 8pm but that's what you would expect in a such a central location . Parking is free and plentiful ( if a walk up heart attack hill ) but you can drop your bags off in the square and then park. Lovely village and lovely accommodation

Almijara Residence is in a beautiful square opposite the church, our room faced onto the square where there is also bars and restaurants, our room was not huge but was perfectly formed with everything you needed and more. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. On the Roof is a bar and which is run on an honestly basis and added to your bill on checkout. It was a great place to meet other guests. The breakfast is also served on roof and is delicious and you can see Maurice is very passionate about food and his and Paul’s business. Sadly we didn’t meet Paul. Good information and instructions are sent to you before arrival making everything very easy. We really liked Cómpeta it’s a beautiful place.

This place is a little gem with wonderful owners Maurice and Paul. It is situated in the heart of Competa opposite the church. People with walking difficulties could find it a struggle because it's on a hill up some steps and there are several steps inside the accommodation. The honesty bar with pleasant background music playing and the breakfast are on the roof. The views are absolutely breathtaking from the roof and our balcony. Our room had a little tiny balcony facing the square and the church. Everything is very clean. The TV has Netflix and plenty of choice. There is a little complimentary drink and nuts in the room. Breakfast is served on the roof by the owner. Juice, coffee, oat porridge with peanut and then a compilation of ham/cheese wrap, avocado/salmon mouse and cake. Beautifully served and just enough to start the day. Free parking is in the municipal car park at the bottom of the hill, 5 mins walk uphill towards the church. Communication from the owners was superb prior to our stay. Free wifi. Complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits throughout the day in a little kitchen area. There is a lovely welcoming feel about the place. We felt totally relaxed and at home.

Lots of steps but competa is very hilly. Maybe some yoghurt and fruit at breakfast would be nice.

The breakfast supplied was absolutely fantastic, we thoroughly enjoyed it on both mornings. The location is great, close to the main square and easy to find. The room was lovely, very comfy. I enjoyed the local wine which was left in the room and the very tasty almonds. There are tea/coffee making facilities upstairs which was very welcome. Our host was a real gentleman and was very informative regarding places to visit and local eating establishments. We will definitely return.

Our stay at Almijara was simply fantastic! We were right in the center of Cómpeta, had a great view to the square from the rooftop where we also had the breakfast every morning and it was really amazing, we were always looking forward to it and enjoy the views as well as the food. You can notice that the owners focus more on the quality over quantity. Definitely recommend!

Excellent location, excellent room, really lovely and helpful and generous hosts. We couldn’t have had a nicer stay. Maurice was a fountain of knowledge that made our stay super easy! Couldn’t ask for more!
