The hotel is set on its own surrounded by sand dunes in a beautiful location about 400 metres up a gentle hill from the beach itself. The room decor suits the environment because guests may bring back sand in their clothing and shoes. The hotel has a real beach feel. The room is very comfortable with an excellent bathroom and shower. The outdoor space on the ground floor or a balcony upstairs is an added bonus to sit outside and experience the light, wind and sounds of the wild environment . The staff are excellent and helpful. Bikes and electric bikes can be rented through the hotel. This is a real bonus. Hotel reception provides fully charged batteries for the e-bikes rented. When the battery is depleted, just return the battery to reception for a fully charged one.

The breakfast provides a lot of options including fresh fruit like water melon and bananas and mango smoothie but some of the ingredients could be of higher quality for a superb experience. When compared to breakfasts of other first class hotels, this hotel falls slightly short. Fresh orange juice and real eggs would be a large Improvement.

We loved everything about our room - it's spaciousness, the view over the dunes, the large comfortable bed, the sound proofing; the bathtub. Everything was just great! The staff was very friendly and helpful . We loved the location of the hotel near the beach. We rented e bikes right at the hotel which was very convenient! I took advantage of the spa facilities - everything was clean and well kept. The breakfast is plentiful and a good variety of foods available. We appreciated the coffee maker in the room as well as the robe which was handy for going back and forth to the spa. One night we had dinner in the excellent restaurant . The food was delicious and service was great. Overall, we loved our stay at Paal 8 and wish we could have stayed longer!!

Clean, well maintained, beautiful room! We had a suite on the ground floor, from the room you can reach the beach by walk, perfect if you travel with a dog, they can go out for a walk as soon as you wake up. The products in the bathroom smell so good (Marie-Stella-Maris). They prepared a cute spot for the dog in the room where they can eat and drink. Recommended.

It’s pet friendly, but dogs can’t be in the room alone, would be nice then to have a space for dogs where you can leave for 30 min or an hour, to have a drink at the bar or to go swim in the pool, or during breakfast :) A bit far from the port, but with an electric bike it’s easy and fast to reach, so not a problem if you travel light!

Spacious suite, excellent bed, close to the beach. It’s an upscale beach hotel where you feel comfortable to bring in a bit of sand on your shoes. Exceptional reception staff who went out of their way to be helpful. The hotel organized electric bikes which were excellent.

The restaurant dinner food was basic. The breakfast offering could be greatly improved especially for such an expensive hotel. One would expect better quality food. For example, the orange juice was not fresh but pasteurized and not pleasant. The scrambled eggs were out of a packet and should have been freshly made with real eggs.

It’s location

The whistling sound in the hallways. We first thought they were sound effects mimicking the wind and giving off a very coastal vibe, but they were the real thing. This was not really a big deal and the hotel had even provided a special roll to block the door with.

This was a dream stay. The room was so spacious and since I had taken the love package, we received Bubbles & the bed was decorated. Although we both would have liked the bed to be decorated with real flowers instead of artificial but I also understand the decision behind it. We loved the balcony and the beach view it had provided. Wish we could have stayed longer. We also appreciated the options for renting bike directly from the Hotel.

The options at breakfast could have been more with a little more variety but it was still good for the options that were served.

Beautiful location right on the dunes, dog friendly was a huge bonus. We got the family suite. Very comfortable for a family of 5. The staff was very friendly too. Public transit takes you right from the ferry port to the hotel for free. Everything went smoothly.

Staff was very welcoming and check-in was a breeze. The hotel is located right at the beach and easy to reach by bicycle, car or bus from the harbour. The room, communal areas (including the pool / spa) were all very clean and the room included coffee+tea. The hotel restaurant provides some great dinner options in a very nice, comfortable and cozy atmosphere.
