A great little hotel for us on a trip around Spain. It is quiet and overlooks the town from a height, the views are spectacular. We could sit and look over the town, have a read, go for a walk, basically just relax, it’s the ideal place. Parking is easy with plenty of space at the front of the hotel to park for free. Joachim is very welcoming and provides drinks and coffee etc when requested. He is a nice person to talk to and loves talking about the area. Plenty of space in the bedroom and good beds. There are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby so no need to use the car. We found a group of bars near to a hotel on the main road that were much better value than the beach bars. Breakfast prepared by the host was lovely

The hotel was very clean, good location, easy to park. Room was nice and bed comfortable. A/C and hot water was functioning quick. Owner was very kind and polite. He made a little present for my husband, who had birthday.

Brekfast was a little poor for us. All food was very fresh, but i woud like to have something to make at least sandwich. We got 1 freah fruit, cofe, bread, cake, jam and salad with little salmon. My husband was able to do sandwich with this salmon from salad, but i wished to have a slice pf ham or cheese.

Staying at this hotel was like stepping into a living, breathing art gallery from a bygone era. The walls are adorned with old documents, exquisite art pieces, and fascinating maps that tell stories of the past, giving the entire place a unique and enchanting vibe. Tucked away in the hills, it's secluded enough that you feel far removed from the hustle and bustle of Calabardina, almost like you've discovered a hidden gem in a remote town. It's a truly unique experience—a place where you can easily lose yourself for hours, admiring the beautiful art and soaking in the magnificent views. If you’re looking for a quiet retreat with a touch of history and elegance, this is the perfect spot.

Fabulous small hotel. Very peaceful and with great views over Calabardina, but still only a 5 minute stroll down to the beach. Joaquin is a fantastic, friendly and very helpful host, and the whole place has an air of calm elegance about it. The breakfasts are excellent and extremely filling too! I stayed here twice, for a total of 11 days in all, and would thoroughly recommend.

I booked on the strength of the reviews I had read and I was not disappointed. The owners are very relaxed and make sure that you feel welcome. The views from the room we booked were excellent. Sea view from one window and a mountain view from the other. I liked the proximity of the hotel to the beach, an easy stroll to the coastline and the restaurants but far enough not to hear the noise from them. We booked during the Spanish holiday, and the beachfront was mobbed till late at night, but it did not affect our sleep. The rooms are fairly basic, but they are comfortable and spotless. The en suite bathroom was really nice, too.The breakfast on the terrace looking across the bay was my highlight, and I will be booking again in September. It was also excellent value for money. The owners have some interesting historical maps and artwork on display around the house and it enhances the experience of staying there. We only spent one night there but I would have liked more.

Minor detail, I would have liked a matt for the shower as I found the tray a little slippy underfoot.Other than that, nothing, it lived up to reviews.

The welcome from Joaquin was so warm and friendly. Every request was never any problem, such as extra pillows. He was very informative about the local restaurants and bars. We needed a relaxing weekend, and this hotel certainly ensured that we did! We were not disappointed with anything - especially the breakfast - pata negra as the Spanish say!!!!

This is an amazing place - calling it just a hotel doesn't do it justice! Joaquin has clearly put all his heart and soul into this. We only stayed overnight, but he was realy accommodating with the late check-in and made sure we were greeted with a nice breakfast (quite) early in the morning. This is also by far one of the cleanest rooms I've ever stayed in. Great parking area right in front of the house as well. If you are looking for a place in the area, look no further - Joaquin will make sure you have a perfect stay. This was our last stop on the way back home after two weeks of travels through Spain, south of France, and Andorra. Having stayed in 8 different hotels throughout the journey, this one was definitely the highlight / one of the best ones - made us not want to go home:) (The only reason it's not 5 stars on Google is because of a review that was clearly written in error)

Not a negative, just an FYI - as this is a house, there's no lift. It is also in a residential area so slightly off the "main road", but roads are in a good state and not too narrow either. Also, rooms are not as spacious as some of the roadside hotels might offer, but even with a cot/pram we didn't feel too cramped.

Everything was superb, not least the hosts who allowed me to check-in later when my flight was delayed. Nothing was a problem and they were very accommodating. The room was comfortable and well-presented and the breakfast was substantial, tasty and varied.

Joaquim was a wonderful host. The breakfast (and espresso coffee) was the best I had my whole stay in the Almeria area.

I was on the ground floor just off the reception area, and a couple decided to stay up talking in the foyer/reception area until after midnight.

We absolutely loved our stay the host was exceptional and the breakfast was delishious, resturants were a quick walk to the beach, several great resturants. We had this delishious pastry from the host which made our drive so much better. Thank you again!
