The food was exceptional. Jan waxed lyrical about the lamb and we thought it was a bit over the top, but it was the best we had ever had. The room was large and airy. Very quiet and we had a great nights sleep. We admired the garden and the gardener helped us with our cases. Excellently run B&B with a true feel of the Karoo.

Theresa and Jan are the friendliest most accommodating owners/hosts. The room we stayed in was spotlessly clean,the beds were super comfy and the shower had great water pressure,the air-conditioner provided welcome relief from a sweltering day.All the rooms are set in beautifully maintained gardens,and there is a lovely swimming pool to cool down in.Safe off street parking is provided.All in all,House Martin is worthy of a 4 star rating.

An easy drive from Colesberg via Meiringspoort Pass which a must to view. Received a warm welcome from Theresa and Jan and recommended the The Grumpy Goat Pub and Grill for drinks and supper which was just what we wanted. Breakfast in the main house with various pictures of the past and also the photo of England v. South Africa Cricket Marylebone Cricket Club July 1994 score card and signed photo. South Africa won by 356 runs. Breakfast was excellent.

Jan and Theresa were so welcoming. We arrived late, 8pm. They nonetheless gave us a delicious dinner and a free beer as ours were warm. Thank you so much for your kindness and hospitality. The staff are also friendly and helpful and added to our enjoyment

The bedding could be a bit more upmarket

Beautiful place, the host's are very friendly and helpful. Overall the place is well mentioned, neat and comfortable, free secure parking inside the property, free WiFi! Have everything you need in the room, will definitely stay there again!!

Excellent value for money. Will definitely be returning to them in the near future. Two wonderful hosts that make you feel at home the moment you enter the premises. In short, the total package exceeded all our expectations.

Very spacious grounds with swimming pool. Great location and a short walk to “The Grumpy Goat” pub where we received a warm welcome. The accommodation had everything we needed from fridge, tea/coffee making and very welcome air conditioning unit. The hosts were amazing and couldn’t do enough for you. We had breakfast and dinner there which was beautiful cooked and presented.

Beautiful setting. Comfortable, clean accomodation. Very friendly, welcoming hosts, assistants and fellow guests! Very friendly, congenial and relaxed atmosphere. Deliciously prepared traditional food.

Two sheets with the duvet – some guesthouses provide only a bottom sheet. Garden, tranquility. Dessert wine on the house.

Another big carpet would have been nice.

The gardens and bird life is spectacular.. and the hosts Jan and Theresa felt like old friends! The room was really really GREAT!!!!! You must visit them?
