The food was delicious. There were a few changes of the breakfast buffet everyday with lots of Malawian local delicacies. The hotel is centrally located in the city with beautiful views from our room on level 7. Robert made us great lattes, and Trinity, a server was very warm and friendly. Always knew our daily coffee orders.

The public could access even the room levels. We had people coming to the room levels just to take photos and videos even when they were not guests at the hotel. Friday and weekends were the most noisy days. We could hear music from the bar even at midnight, such an inconvenience.

Located in the centre of Blantyre. Rooms are comfortable and the double room beds are HUGE and very comfortable. Staff are supper friendly and happy to help. Food is very good although the price is higher given this is probably one of the poshest hotels in the city.

Whilst the staff are friendly the check in process seems slow. Be warned, if you are booking a deluxe room with two double beds through booking.com the beds are actually large singles, NOT doubles. We thought the room would be big enough for 3 people but it wasn’t. The hotel added a single camp style bed into the room for free.

Breakfast was really good, with multiple options of hot and cold options. Food at the indoor restaurant was really good as well. Location was also great. Staff were very friendly and tried to be helpful and accommodate various requests.

Hotel shuttle did not pick me up from the airport ... I had to get a cab. Served coffee was not as good as ordered coffee, so I opted to order coffee (no extra cost) with my breakfast everyday. Cleaners could be a little noisy in the morning, talking to each other in the corridors.

Beautiful well appointed rooms in a very safe location right in the heart of downtown.

The service at the restaurant Zaffron is excruciatingly slow. It took an hour and half for our food to arrive. Food was not very good. They seem to have no butter. At dinner they served bread rolls but when asked for butter said there is none. Same story for breakfast. There was also a very noisy karaoke party that went on till late at night. The previous night they had hammering/construction going on.

Amaryllis Hotel is simply Blantyre City's Best Hotel in Malawi🇲🇼🇲🇼🇲🇼! The description is exactly what I had encountered during my recent stay at the hotel. Despite waiting for one hour for my room to be ready, the reservation department simply upgraded me to a Beautiful room on level 4 that was already made. The views were just out of this world. The service was phenomenal. Food was mouth watering. What stood out was their customer service and attention to detail. A Big shout out to a waitress called Jesse whose ever smiling face and service was very exceptional. Susan, a house keeping lady again impressed me with making sure the water was warm. Despite being upgraded, due to long wait to check in, the reservation staff went above and beyond and brought me special treats of Macadamia nuts, dark chocolate and an apple to my room as a token of an apology. It was a rare experience that I have encountered as a solo traveller, seeing a hotel going above and beyond to satisfy their customers. You want to visit Blantyre City in Malawi? This hotel is good, the food is nice and there is a good selection for breakfast. Rooms are big with a stunnig view over Blantyre

It's been constantly decreasing over the years, and no maintenance was done. We booked five rooms, and in each of them there were issues with the shower and bathtubs. This must be fixed for this price. I came back to Amaryllis for an extra night the same week and in the sixth room the bathtub leaked badly flooding the floor...

Wonderful hotel. The staff is great—so friendly and always making sure your stay is perfect. They are very flexible. I needed to wait for my taxi after checkout, and they extended my room for free so I could wait there comfortably. When I extended my stay by one night, they ensured I received the same rate for the room. The rooms are perfect—clean and nicely furnished. The beds are big and very comfortable. There is a nice swimming pool, great bars, and excellent food.

If you don’t drink alcohol, this hotel would be a good fit. Modern facilities, striking high-rise with grand views from most units. Typically African Muslim breakfast. No pork! Lots of stuff westerners wouldn’t even dream of eating for breakfast, but good coffee and cakes, fresh fruit, as well. Fried eggs cooked pretty hard to avoid bacterial hazards. There is a alcohol bar with some food in the ground-floor tiny shopping mall, very popular with Blantyre’s college set on weekends. Super-efficient room safes. Delightful staff.

No really convenient pedestrian entrance or exit. Hotel is built for vehicle access. Pedestrian escalators are broken down, so one has to traipse through the garage to the elevators or ascend the broken escalators.

Hotel, staff and breakfast were amazing! Only one problem ... The music from the casino was so loud. We couldn't get to sleep. Very unfortunate!

The loud music from the casino on the grounds was very annoying and made it difficult to sleep. This was after we were told that the hotel was quiet. The hotel is excellent in every way except for the late night noise which was heard in our room. For this reason, we would not consider returning.

Nice, spacious and comfortable room. Big comfortable bed with sparkling white lien. Personal terrace with city view. Convenient location. Decent food in the restaurants.

My room was first to the entrance and there was some noise coming from the hall and restaurant up to midnight. Restaurants don't serve alcohol drinks and you have to order it from the bar downstairs to your room or go there by yourself. Food prices are high, but this is because of the hotel's starts. Hotel's reception is at the 3rd floor and if you arriving/leaving with the car you have to take an elevator from the parking lot, which is sometimes very busy.
