Its a very nice authentic cosy hotel. I think in total 8 rooms. Rooms are looking towards the pool. The pool is a goid size to swim.Its not on the beach, but you can walk to the beach, its inly a km away. The rooms are clean, sometimes we did not have hot water, but once we told the staff the water was ok. There is a safe in the room, airconditioning, moswuito nets. Mombasa was a grsat host and tried everything in his power to make us feel welcome and comfortable. I even got gluten free pancakes for breakfast. All in all it was a wonderful experience.

This was our second visit and we thoroughly enjoyed the quietness and beauty of the place. African House is a very special place thanks to the utmost care being taken to curate the surroundings and make it like a museal place. For anyone enjoying a retreat away from the hassle of urban life, that's it.

We informed the staff that there should be serious work on the water pipes and water pressure as the issue has been preventing water in the shower to run properly. If the owner's dog has a bad night, sleep can suffer.

Our stay at African House was the best stay during our six weeks of travelling in Kenya. The beauty of this place has been praised by others and needs no further additions. There is no other place which we have found so conducive to rest and read. We also enjoyed the perfect atmosphere and surroundings at the resort for reflection and conversations. While we dislike most of the resort typical ambiente of beach hotels, African House has a character of its own, away from beach tourism, and we were barely tempted to leave it during the week of our stay there.

wonderful staff, especially the security gentleman, the housekeeping and Mr. Mombasa and Steven. Thank you all so much for having me. This place is very quiet and chill, and once the wifi started working well was great. Wonderful room as well and very comfortable and nice place.

It was a bit expensive for my budget given that it is quite far from the beach and the wifi had troubles working at the start but overall it was well worth it and a great stay.

A dream destination. A small boutique hotel with exceptional interior design and decor. Great breakfast and very personal service.

Internet was scetchy at times but I learned that this was due to the provider.

The hotel is pretty about 900m from the beach. You just need to cross the main street. The pool and outfoor is exceptional. The staff, esoecially Mombasa is wonderful.

The rooms need a luttle renovation

The ambience and environment just kills you. Lovely is an understatement. If you have an eye that loves a cool, sweet and beautiful place, African home is the place. It is right in the middle of the leafy suburbs of Malindi, stress free, just the wheezing sound of the trees. The swimming pool is fairly warm even when it was getting cold. The staff are very friendly and the owner is right there to ensure your comfort and peace of mind. If I get another opportunity, I would go back there anytime without blinking.

The beach is about 15minutes away walking. That walking can be good for exercise.

Loved the peace and quiet. The aircon was great on really hot days. The staff were so friendly and accomodating special mention to Mombasa a lovely guy!

Not so much a not like. Lunch menu was limited if you chose to stay in for lunch. But on whole food was great!

It’s an oasis of beautiful gardens with very spacious and comfortable rooms and a great pool. But what struck us the most is the level of service and kindness we received from everyone. It’s beyond anything we have experienced on the coast.

Water pressure in the bathroom can use a bit of an upgrade. Because it’s away from the beach, lunch and breakfast at the restaurant can be too hot. But this is not a déterrant

The breakfast was wonderful. There was a variety to pick from and at the end of it, we were satisfied. And the personnel serving was friendly and helpful.

I would suggest that the management needs to consider asking the guests where they would like to have their breakfast. I would have liked the possibility of having the breakfast at the comfort of my room, and not having to go to the restaurant.
