Zeus' small boutique hotel was the highlight of our stay in Corfu. What a special place!! Afionas is a very charming small town, perched high up over the ocean on a little jutting cliff, so you feel like you're almost in the clouds and surrounded by the gorgeous sea. Spectacular. The hospitality and charm of the town and especially of Zeus' Throne set it apart from the other places we stayed on Corfu. Each morning and afternoon, we looked forward to chatting with Kostas, our wonderful, friendly server at the restaurant, while enjoying our delicious ocean view breakfasts and lunch. Try their mouth-watering crispy sesame honey feta! We were sad to say goodbye. We felt as welcome there as friends would be, thanks to Kostas :) We stayed in one of the brand new jacuzzi suites, which was absolutely perfect. The price could have been double what we paid and we'd still have been impressed. The suite was very large and beautifully remodeled with every amenity, a living room, full kitchen (stocked with several bottles of delicious wine for us) and a bedroom looking out to the sea, which opened out onto our private balcony with loungers, chair & table, and a hot tub (which doesn't get hot at all, it usually lingered around 21-24 celsius and couldn't be adjusted. It was nice to enjoy on a warm day since it isn't as cold as a pool would be, but not warm enough for cooler spring nights and mornings). The balcony was very private, since these rooms are on the top floor, looking down over the huge, gorgeous patios of the pool suites below, which look even better. The property is peaceful and serene, surrounded by gardens, with many charming sitting/dining areas on a few levels, all with those stunning ocean views.

Coming into the town the first time was daunting, as the roads are narrow, windy and steep (really that's true all over Corfu), and our rental car was not built for these roads! We knew from reviews that the road leading into the property would be small, but I've never seen a road this narrow! Barely wide enough for one car, so you must drive very slow to not scrape the sides of the car. But it's short, and we did see a small van driving it, so it is manageable. After the first time we weren't so nervous about it.

An absolutely amazing stay at Zeus Throne Suites! From the moment we walked in, all of the staff took such good care of us and made sure we always felt comfortable during our stay. Our suite was everything we were expecting and more - beds were comfortable, living area was spacious and the private terrace and pool were such a treat (made even better by the incredible view)! Breakfast was freshly prepared, delicious and delivered to our suite every morning and with a large variety to choose from, we always felt catered to. The on-site restaurant at Zeus Throne also deserves a mention - the food is so fresh and we ate some our favourite meals of our trip here. Highly recommend the moussaka, it is a must!! Afionas itself is a gorgeous little village with some great restaurant options and the perfect sunset watching spots. Thank you to all of the staff for making our stay so enjoyable. We cannot recommend Zeus Throne enough...we will be back!!

Absolutely nothing!

Loved our stay at Zeus! The staff was incredible - helped us rent a car, arranged transport to the airport, always available when we had a question. The room was very comfortable and we really enjoyed the private jacuzzi on our balcony. Being on top of the cliff allowed for amazing views and a constant, cooling breeze (early July). The restaurant was great and perfect after a long day of touring. Zeus.sits right at the trail head to a fantastic beach that is a fairly challenging hike. Both were excellent fun.

We had no issues with the hotel at all, but wanted to note that Afionas is not centrally located to the whole island, so driving into different cities took a bit on VERY windy, narrow roads. Definitely an adventure!

The view from our terrace was spectacular, overlooking the bay of Agios Georgios. The breakfasts were all cooked to order, delicious, fresh and served on the hotel terrace. Staff were all lovely and very helpful when we had to organise taxis etc. Zeus was in an excellent location a few minutes walk from the high quality restaurants in the village.

Whilst many people do decide to walk to the nearest beach - Tomoni - we found it a very challenging walk over a rocky terrain especially in the very hot weather, so only did it once! You really needed a car to get to the other beaches nearby. Please also note while booking.com lists a swimming pool as a facility - there is no shared pool - the pools are only in the private suites.

Thank you so much for your hospitality, we had a wonderful time with you. The Hotel is gorgeous through and through. We were expected and arrived to some welcome drinks on the beautiful terrace overlooking the bay and a fruit platter in the room. That covered breezy terrace was a great place to hang out in the mornings and early afternoons when the sun was too hot and bright on our own private balcony. The room was nicely furnished, clean and modern, and the view is breathtaking from the moment you step in. We slept well, the bed was very comfortable, the room dark and cool thanks to the air conditioning. The room terrace was a great place to hang out in later afternoons and the hot tub was more comfortable in the afternoon when it was heated by the sun than at night after it cooled down. The fridge was stocked up of complimentary drinks, which we certainly enjoyed from our chaise longues admiring the fabulous view. There's lots of choices for restaurants nearby, all decently priced and excellent food, including Zeus' own restaurant of course. The sunset can be caught from a number of restaurants facing the other direction. Breakfast was a treat as well with a large selection of freshly cooked foods, savoury or sweet, fresh juices and hot drinks. Located next to the cove was a great experience, although the rough terrain is not for everyone, and when we wanted to do something different, the hotel gave us a lift to St Georges' beach below.

The room terrace could use more shade in the morning due to the sunrise.

Our stay here was exceptional! The room was exactly as described and depicted on the website. The staff really strive to ensure you have an enjoyable vacation. Mario and Constantinos were the two staff we primarily interacted with and they were so courteous, friendly, and helpful. Mario even went out of his way to get me super glue to help repair one of my slippers. The breakfast was amazing - freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh fruit, cappuccino, eggs, feta cheese, and so on. There are also many drinks in the fridge (such as wine, pop, water) available to you for no extra charge. We also had a great experience dining at the restaurant; the prices were reasonable, the proportions were big, and the food was very tasty. The resort is on the cliff with a beautiful view!! There are three beaches close by: Agios Georges beach (10 minute drive), Porto Timoni beach (20 minute walk), and Arillas beach (15 minute drive). Arillas beach was our favorite. It's a 15 minute drive with beautiful clear water and sand.

Breakfast was delicious, including freshly cooked omelettes and high quality coffee, fruit and yoghurt. The room was incredibly spacious, clean and comfortable. Air-conditioning worked very well and the beds and pillows were comfortable. The patio area, including plunge pool and loungers was a luxury touch and included a spectacular view. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would return without hesitation.

It's only a very minor thing, but more shelf space in the bathrooms (for use when applying makeup etc) would have been helpful.

It was excellent. The views of Agios Georgios were fantastic and the private pool area was also impeccable. The breakfast was of sublime quality, especially when considering the fact it was included in the price. The staff also went above and beyond in all respects. Highly recommend this property and host; would certainly stay again.

Accessing via a car can be slightly tricky for nervous or less competent drivers. Part of the road is very narrow, but this is not a criticism of the property itself

Peace and tranquility. The stunning view. The blue skies. The mild breeze every day up from the sea. The opportunity to escape the heat by using the plunge pool. The flowers in Afionas were beautiful. There were many restaurants to dine out in the evening. Marios was an excellent manager/waiter. Angelina was a great taxi driver providing seamless airport transfers. Vasillius should be justly proud of Zeus Thrones.

Zeus arranged our airport transfer which went perfectly. We were met with a welcome drink then shown to our apartment which was spotlessly clean. It was well appointed and very well laid out. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The food in the restaurant on site was excellent as was the service. Our mini break was very relaxing and the room had a fantastic view. The pool was cleaned daily and was very private. We would certainly go back again!

Nothing to dislike. The apartment was self catering but there wasn't really a supermarket within walking distance but this didn't bother us as we ate in the restaurant. There were a few tavernas close by.
