What did I like? Everything. The property itself is stunning, clean, and just a few steps away from the ocean where you can enjoy a delicious meal, or a few beers or cocktails at a variety of places depending on your mood. Every morning, reception offers free coffee or water for guests. The rooms are beautiful with big comfortable beds, incredible pillows, and my room had a giant, comfortable bathtub. A nice treat after traveling Oaxaca for a couple weeks. Every staff member from check-in, to a massage, to general questions make you feel as if you're at home and "family" has been waiting for you. Will absolutely return.

This isn't a negative for the hotel, and just an FYI for future guests. The beach is an optional nude beach, so don't be surprised like I was, lol. Enjoy yourself and let loose if you choose!

Very friendly and helpful staff kept in touch daily by WhatsApp with restaurant recommendations, etc. The room was spacious and comfortable and perfectly located next to the beach. The adjacent restaurant has a great breakfast. I was convenient to be able to put the breakfast and beach bar tab on the room's account. Beach beds and chairs were plentiful and always available. The water is rough but swimmable as long as you are careful. We loved the drag show at the bar nextdoor, yes there is some music at night but it did not bother us. Extremely relaxing and I would definitely stay here again

This was a great find! The property is absolutely beautiful and all of the bungalows are amazing. The ground floor units have A/C, but the upper units have amazing airflow and patios, and you can request an extra fan. Very unique and superb attention to detail. The amenities with the beach bar and restaurant on site were 10 out of 10. Very short walk to the main street and a lovely beach. The pool was generally deserted and absolutely gorgeous. A nice respite from the heat on the beach. Many thanks to Pedro and all of the staff. We celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary in Zipolite and we were treated to a nice surprise of complementary wine and impeccable service. There is some noise at night from neighboring clubs, but the fans and the earplugs tend to drown it out! This is a lively fun place to be in Mexico, even if you are not a nudist. Rent a scooter from the reception and drive up to Mazunte and San Augustinillo. Lots of cute areas neighboring Zipolite that are worth checking out.

There are only 12 rooms spread across six huts. We were facing the ocean on the ground floor and therefore we had an air-conditioned unit which for us was a necessity. The rooms are styled as “spa“ rugged comfort. Nothing is missing and everything is to perfection. There are two beach restaurants, seconds away and of course the spectacular Zipoleti beach. Outside of the “beach club” you are minutes away from the town, where there are a number of eateries and restaurants. Also, right along the beach.

Best location in Zipolite. Secluded yet within feet of the beach. Staff was more than accommodating. Some late night noise from bar across the street but not awful. You could hear the waves from the ocean. Pool was refreshing and relaxing. Coffee provided was delicious and strong. Hammock and swing on the patio made for tranquil lounging during the day. Would not stay anywhere else!

A mini fridge would be welcomed to store drinks. Rooms are more than big enough to accommodate one.

Everyone on the staff was friendly and attentive both in person and by text. The cabins was roomy and quaint - just what you want from a Mexican beach town. The ceiling fan provided a cool enough breeze to sleep by, so there was no need for air conditioning. The location is perfect - right on a nice part of the beach with an excellent cafe and cocktail bar next door Organic soap and mosquito repellant. Overall, it's a very good value for the money if you are looking for an affordable alternative to places like El Alchemista.

There are some night clubs right next door that play loud music until 3 am. But I wore earplugs and had no problem sleeping. Also there are a lot of mosquitos that are hard to avoid.

I spent a week at Hotel Descalzo and I had the best experience. The hotel is beautiful, walking distance to anywhere and right on the beach. The staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful. Breakfast at Gula Gula was delicious and their little beach club is great as well, food, cocktails... You don't have to go anywhere else if you don't want to! It was a dream and I will be back same time next year!

What a great place right on the beach. Hotel has all you need and Manuel was so helpful with sharing tips in Zipolite. The room is big and has a good shower with hot water. The breakfast restaurant is great and the beachclub with double beds from the hotel is perfect to lounge all day.

Be aware there are some night time clubs in the area, the hotel provides earplugs. Slept right through it or joined the fun.

Great staff, great communication with front desk, excellent view of the beach, parking lot very primitive but secure, flight was delay so I arrive later than planned but still great experience after all.

I wasn’t able to get a safe box in my room, been an international traveler is always worrisome not to have an extra security box to place important documents and extra cash in hand. Will definitely like to have it next time.

Descalzo is a great hotel right on the beach. The room is good-sized and comfortable. The room is beach modern with the right balance of amenities and simplicity. This was my second time staying at Descalzo and it met our expectations. We had a second floor room both times - I like the balcony. The first floor rooms have a larger porch area. I like that the hotel is just set back a little from the beach- by just a few feet. There is a nice restaurant in front on the beach that has good breakfast and lunch. In the evening there is a bar there that has good drinks. The pool is good, nice sized and just off the main area.

There is a restaurant/ bar that is near the hotel that plays loud music that can be heard- until about 12 or 1 most nights.
