We stayed here this weekend to attend a wedding locally. The hosts were so accommodating I had booked a triple room for myself, husband and daughter but accidentally only booked for two adults! We also arrived at nearly midnight and Corrine was still there to welcome us and sort the room so it was fine for the three of us. The location is lovely. Really remote and quiet. The pool was lovely! We didn’t use the hot tub as it was such a hot weekend! Our room was perfect! Breakfast was lovely! And we especially loved the friendly cats!! Would HIGHLY recommend this place! Thank you to Corrine & Laurent for looking after us so wonderfully!

I have nothing bad to say - it was all wonderful!

The setting of La Marmoire is beautiful, with very friendly hosts, quaint and characterful rooms, so picturesque, a magnificent house and gardens. We booked an evening meal and are so glad we did, it was all so delicious, home cooked and served with a lovely view out to the garden. Breakfast was also lovely and set us up for our day of motorcycle touring. There is hard standing for bike parking. Spend some time here to use the pool and appreciate the peaceful setting, we didn't stay for long enough and hope to return in the near future.

We didn't like leaving this special place

Tranquil setting that would be lovely in the summer. Comfortable bed and good continental breakfast each morning. The welcoming hosts provided a delicious and healthy 3 course evening meal at a cost of 25 euros each, which we thoroughly recommend. In the description it does state that wifi is only available in some rooms, it wasn’t in ours. In the lounge area where wifi is available the signal was not very strong which made downloading Netflix etc onto an iPad to watch in bed impossible (there was no tv in the rooms).

Having toured France on motorbike for many years, the hosts here were the best by far. Although the hosts spoke broken English, their daughters stepped in if required to translate. We were even invited to join the family for a meal during a cross over of guests. Nothing was too much trouble, we only had to ask. Evening meals were fantastic, well worth the cost, would highly reccomend. The house was lovely in remote location ( which was fine). Large garden to explore, good size swimming pool and hot tub.

Really do not like saying anything bad about our stay, but have to be honest. We were in the large garden room which opens direct onto the garden. There were a few cobwebs in the room and some dust. The bathroom needs updating, the shower overflowed into the bathroom ( didn't drain propely) and rusty radiator could do with replacing. However, this by no means spoilt our stay. The hosts have only been operating since January, we are very confident this room will be updated in the near future.

Corinne and Laurent were lovely hosts. It's a real home from home. Comfy beds and good facilities. Lots of outside space to sit and enjoy the summer evenings with a glass or two of wine. The pool was great. Quiet peaceful and beautiful surroundings. Having the option of a tasty evening meal after a day of travelling was wonderful. Our adult sons thoroughly enjoyed the generous breakfast too! We stayed at the beginning and end of our holiday and will definitely return to La Marmoire if we drive down through France again, or maybe just to go back for a few days holiday there! Our hosts were very welcoming and helpful. It was wonderful to arrive and be able to relax in the pool and jacuzzi, in their lovely garden. Breakfast was good, and we we had the 'table d'hôtes' one evening, which was very good, and it also meant we could relax with a glass of wine, without driving into Châteaubriant.

The room was under the eves, so a little hot, but a fan was provided. The bathroom was also under the eves, so going to the toilet was a little tricky for my husband, and the shower was good but you had to be careful not to bang your head getting in and out. These were minor discomforts, and overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to other travellers.

A very warm welcome from the extremely friendly hosts Laurent and Corrine and despite the language barrier we were able to enjoy sharing our interests on our three night visit. The communal lounge and dining area is tastefully decorated, providing comfort to relax and eat a enjoyable French style breakfast. A very well prepared and tasty 3 course evening meal is on offer each evening. An honesty bar is provided. In the spacious garden there is a jacuzzi and heated swimming pool which was a bonus after our days out visiting the area . There is ample on site parking.

Really lovely experience all round. Fabulous spot, pretty house and grounds. Lovely hosts, so welcoming and helpful. Traditional French breakfast each day of our stay and we enjoyed a home cooked 3 course evening meal on one evening of our stay. We recommend staying here .

A warm welcome and relaxing swimming pool after a days driving. Very peaceful location in which to unwind. Corrine and Laurent made a great effort to understand our very poor French! Laurent provided a very good, three course evening meal which was served on a wonderfully laid out table.

Just a little off the beaten track. But with modern Sat nav etc not a major issue

The hosts were very welcoming and friendly. Our attic room was particularly peaceful, we opened the windows to enjoy the view and enjoyed the gentle breeze and the occasional bird twittering. We couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing stay. The pool is beautiful and the hosts really take pride in the property. I would not hesitate to stay here again if we are in the area!
