Great location. Quiet. Very clean. Staff very accommodating. I couldn't avoid checking out half hour late, explained to staff, and he was fine with it. Very roomy fridge in the room and with a grocery store nearby, you can pick up refreshments and keep them cold. Property is well lit at night. If a person wants a simple clean and affordable place to stay while in Sturbridge, look no further!

Nothing to complain about! It was a great 2 evening stay. I have stayed here several times and will continue to do so as long aslong as the price is kept reasonable and cleanliness is upheld.

Location was good; managing staff (the only staff we met) were efficient and very nice. The sheets and pillowcases were soft and comfortable. There was a listing of what TV networks appeared on which channels. Breakfast was good. The shower was good; no mold.

The room had a musty smell and there was little room to move around. The musty smell may have been caused from a dirty air-conditioning filter that should be replaced. Also, it would be nice to have an outlet for a computer at or near the desk. The comforters and drapes are of such colors that you can't really tell how clean they are but assuming they were clean. White is nice. Ashtrays should be removed from outside air-conditioning units.

Staff was accomodating. Place was very clean. Bed was comfortable, shower worked well and TV worked well. Great landscaping! Great location! Continental breakfast was your basic Continental breakfast. Nothing to rave about but coffee was good, juice was good, bagels were fresh and light - not doughy like some. I noticed there was a breakfast place next door that seemed pretty popular.

Place is dated. We stayed on a weekend so traffic noise was light. Place is close to a well-traveled road. ? what traffic noise would be like during the week.

Convenient location to highways, town center, shopping area. Excellent curb appeal - the flowers and grounds are impeccably kept and beautiful. Room was very clean, AC was refreshing. Bathroom was spotless. Very well lit. Easy check in. Very nice staff. I absolutely loved the lightweight Vellux blanket and five pillows on the bed!

Slightly dated color scheme-which really was fine. I would be okay if they didn’t leave ashtrays outside the rooms, since it’s nonsmoking in the room, but I understand that there are still people who smoke.

I have stayed here for a few times to crash late night towards the end of a road trip to Boston, close I-90--reliable place with a clean bed and shower to get some rest. By far the best bang for your buck around. I can't think of a hotel from Western NY to Boston that is less than $100 that is this clean and comfortable. It's quiet and it's great to get a basic breakfast for free (cup of coffee, juice and a bagel with cream cheese).

The only thing we didn't like was that even though we had a non-smoking room, it became obvious that the previous occupant had smoked in the bathroom. We just didn't notice it when we first entered the room. We told the manager about it and hoped he would give us another room but he didn't/wouldn't. We had to keep the bathroom door closed the entire time we stayed there except for when we had to use it and that helped. Couldn't smell any smoke in the main sleeping room.

Room was clean and it had a nice refrigerator. The breakfast met our needs. The car is parked close to the room. The King bed was comfortable.

As we initially came in the room, the air conditioning was set at 67 degrees F and there was an odor, but after setting the air conditioning to 72 degrees F, where we prefer it, and going out to eat, we did not notice an odor when we came back.

Room was clean and comfortable. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom appeared to have been remodeled recently. The little alcove with chairs to sit in was a nice touch.

Breakfast was OK although not a lot of selections, but given the price of the stay I couldn't get too upset over it. There was a little diner next door if you wanted something more substantial.

The gentleman at the front desk was very patient and understanding with reference to my concerns while I traveled alone; he reassured me of my safety, and even put me in the room right next to the office!….I am quite grateful to him for that! The room was very nice, and the bathroom was very spacious….and the cleaning staff was polite, as well as thorough - overall a great place, and I will definitely return!

The Scottish Inn at Sturbridge isn't a luxury hotel, but it's clean, comfortable, and affordable. The couple who run it seem very nice. It's a great choice if you're traveling and need somewhere to stay for a night. There's a simple complimentary breakfast--it's nothing gourmet, but it was good to be able to grab a coffee and donut before hitting the road in the morning.

The only complaint I have is that the shades were not flush with the wall, which meant that a lot of very bright light from the parking lot came in through the gap at the top. Fortunately, I was able to block the gap with towels to get the room mostly dark. If you're staying here and you have trouble sleeping in a room that isn't fully dark, I recommend coming prepared with binder clips and a big black sheet. (Or one of those eyeshade things, if they work for you.)
