Bisbee is a city known for its artistic community and mining history, and its oldest continually operated hotel, The Copper Queen, fits in perfectly. Its façade is invitingly decorative. One can imagine Edwardian ladies and mining executives basking on the balcony and verandah. The foyer and staircase beckon toward shadowy enclaves where ghosts surely abide. Modern day travelers, however, should not expect this ambiance to be accompanied by all the mod cons of a contemporary hotel chain – particularly evident at time of writing. Behind the façade, an interior upgrade was in progress. My room was relatively small, reflecting the hotel’s 1902 origin. But it was clean, quiet and, apart from one windowsill, appeared freshly painted. Overall, the room had what I needed – a desk and table lamp, mirrors, a comfortable bed (maybe needing more up-to-date bed clothes?) and an old-style bathtub, now doubling as a shower. I had long desired to stay at the Copper Queen, and would not want any of this description to put off anyone from doing so. My stay was comfortable, and the location couldn’t be more convenient for the main street’s enticing assortment of cafes and galleries. Just have regard for the oddities.
Like many a vintage bathroom, this one lacked space on which to place one’s toiletries. A small table would suffice. It’s a trivial detail but I couldn’t get the TV to respond to its remote. Of course I could have called reception, but surely it would have been a standard thing to check before a guest arrived.

The hotel was under renovation during our visit. Our room was not one of the renovated/remodeled rooms, but it was still quaint and very comfortable. They have both a restaurant and saloon on premise with outdoor seating available with both. We did not visit the restaurant but did visit the saloon. Both are open limited hours which is understandable as this becomes a sleepy town after 6 or 7 pm. We loved the history of the hotel, the original creaking wood floors, the quaint rooms, and service. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.
There wasn't anything I disliked about the hotel. I was very pleased with our stay. I can understand how individuals who are more "picky" might have negative opinions about the renovations, and maybe even the state of some of the rooms (layers of peeling paint, old carpet, outdated curtains). For me this simply adds to history of the hotel as it continues to stand the test of time. As mentioned before, the hotel is in the process of being renovated, room by room. I look forward to returning to see the progress.

The Copper Queen Hotel was overall very good. From the moment, I arrived the front desk staff Angie and Ethan were extremely helpful. In fact, when I asked for a room with the bathtub, they were immediately accommodating. The room and bathroom was spacious and comfortable. The staff at the restaurant, Jenn & Kelly were both very friendly and professional. Alex, at the bar was very nice even for his first day on the job. Throughout the course of my stay, I felt like I was coming "home" for I was always treated with friendliness. Even had the occasion to see some of the staff out and about and learn more about them on a social level. Everyone was fantastic!
I did have trouble sleeping while there. Also, it would have been nice to have a mini-fridge in the room for stuff that I brought from home, all of which ending up going bad. Also, I wish there restaurant was open longer hours, The food was great, through their creme brûlée was awful. I enjoyed having drinks at the bar but found their bartender, Electra to be a tad bit pretentious talking about a new hire on his first day of work behind his back (in front of customers like myself) rather than talking to him directly.

When we booked, we didn't know about the rumors of paranormal activity in this hotel. We had fun hearing about it. The interior design is really authentic and historic and we liked the ambiance about it. It got us in the Bisbee mood. Very central in the old part of the time. Perfect for exploring the endless stairs in Bisbee. We really had fun.
Here and then it was a little louder due to some ghost excited people. But it wasn't bad. Some things needed a little care or touch up. It wasn't a 4 star hotel, but we rather had that Bisbee vibe than an all modern perfect hotel.

It's such a beautiful piece of history! It's my favorite place to stay when I'm in town. The location is perfect and the staff is always so friendly!
The bed wasn't the most comfortable but it wasn't terrible. The elevator was out this time and we were on the fourth floor but it is an old building and the only hotel with an elevator so definitely consider that as a possibility when choosing to stay here, the staff did let us know when we checked in and made sure we were fine with the fourth floor before finalizing our check in.

The elevator was broken, so luckily we were able to change our room from the FOURTH FLOOR to the second. The staff was very accommodating in this way. However, we were then overcharged $230 because the change wasn't made in their system, or some other mystery. I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company. There was also a computer breach thru YOUR website, BOOKING. COM. Many people were affected, so we worried about that. It's a beautiful old hotel, and the staff were very helpful, but there were so many other issues I don't know if we will return.

Vintage hotel with ghosts room 213. I would expound on the orbs that I saw but people believe what they want. The restaurant was pretty good and the location puts you in the heart of the city.
The parking was not so good. No one there at the front desk to help carry bags inside to the rooms. Valet service not offered. There was one waitress at breakfast, there should be at least 2 waitresses as the poor woman was literally running around taking orders and delivering food, not good.

The hotel is in the center of town and convenient to walk to stores. Bisbee has very limited parking, so there isn't parking available at the hotel. The rooms are nicely laid out, not very big but comfortable.
They only have streaming service for TV with free services. Wi-Fi was not great in our room and we had repeated disconnects. Th restaurant at the hotel was good for breakfast but a little pricey.

This is an historic hotel. With that in mind, it was an excellent place to stay. It lacks in accessibility, but is great location for walking to interesting points and tours in Bisbee. Yes. You will have to walk. No parking on sight, but there are small lots within a couple blocks. Elevator is out of commission, so, if you can't walk stairs, this is probably not the place for you.

The breakfast left alot to be desired. The staff was very friendly.
A little more care for the breakfasts would have been appreciated. I have worked in this industry and felt that the cleanliness not quite up to par even considering the age of the hotel. The four story climb was difficult over the three night stay with service animal in tow as the elevator was out but otherwise, we enjoyed our stay.
