A little gem of a hotel within easy reach of Malaga. The owners were very welcoming and always made time to chat to guests. Olivier, gave us excellent tips on local attractions and places to visit. The breakfast was lovely, with a good variety to start the day right. The hotel had a great selection of local wines and beers plus a selection of lovely Belgium beers. We also had a couple of lovely evening meals at the hotel. The pool set in a beautiful garden, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The location is ideal, there is an hourly train service to Malaga and the Caminito del Rey is close by, although if you go by train check the times of the trains coming back. Alora itself is well worth a visit and there is a bus stop nearby that makes getting up the hill to the town easy. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful, friendly base to explore the area!

We loved everything about El Cielo Azul. The owners were so friendly and kind - we felt very welcome, and especially enjoyed the company of their beautiful dog and cats! We miss them already! The property is simply stunning - quintessential traditional Spanish, the most amazing ceiling in the bedroom and lovely art work on the walls. En suite bathroom had a great monsoon shower. The pool was a welcome treat during such hot weather. On the other side of the wall is a train station, but the electric trains are so quiet you barely notice them. It felt like we were in a quiet haven/oasis. The garden area with seating for breakfast/dinner/drinks was just beautiful - I could’ve sat there forever with a nice glass of cold wine! The continental breakfast was delicious and everything was so fresh. Olivier was so attentive and kind. We also had a meal there one evening and it was superb - my 12 year old son ate every bit of his salmon dish - which shows how good it was 😂. The coconut ice cream was also incredible! We would highly recommended this wonderful place to anyone. We loved it and wish we could’ve stayed longer. We most definitely want to return sometime. If you are planning on visiting Caminios del Ray - this is the ideal location as it is only 30 mins or so away.
Very small suggestions - there was 1 very small bin in the bathroom, a slightly larger one in the bedroom wouldn’t been useful. The towels in the bathroom were quite small

The hotel was in a beautiful historic villa which had a large garden in which we sat out for our breakfast and evening meal. The breakfast included a lot of local produce and the hotel had a nice selection of evening meals and drinks. The owner was wonderful and made our stay special. He was very pleasant, interesting to talk to and helpful. There was a good train service into Malaga and a small minibus from the station which went up into the lovely town of Alora. I would highly recommend this hotel!

We were in Feb during the week - it was quiet and in fact very relaxing. Olivier was around and always happy to help or provide some advice. No issue with a train station just behind the hotel - it's pretty quiet. Breakfast was rich, fresh and nicely served. It was a great basis for our hikes during the day. Olivier served it one day for us before the official breakfast hours as we were heading to Caminito del Rey for an early start - that was very kind of him.

It is a lovely hotel, very comfortable beds, and slept so well. The location is great for the station. The swimming pool was lovely, really needed a swim as it was so hot. We had dinner on our second night, and some lovely wine was great. The gardens are excellent, a lovely place for breakfast, which was excellent, especially the Pancakes
It is a very steep walk into the centre but it is worth doing ascomjnv home is all downhill

Our stay at El Cielo Azul in Álora was amazing. Olivier, the super-friendly and attentive host, made us feel instantly at home and his sweet dog Chang and the cats welcomed us on a daily base. The guesthouse is peaceful, beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. We loved relaxing in the lush garden and enjoying the delicious breakfast as well as the meals — especially the Bolognese! An great experience we can’t wait to repeat.

We recently stayed at El Cielo Azul and had a wonderful experience. The rooms were very nice, offering a comfortable and cozy atmosphere. The location itself was beautiful, providing a serene and picturesque setting. Although it was a bit difficult to find at first, everything else was excellent. The owners were incredibly accommodating, waking up earlier to specially make breakfast for us, because we were heading to El Caminito del Rey.I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a peaceful and enjoyable stay.

We stayed in the property for two nights to walk the Caminito del Rey and the property was in a great location for that, especially if you wanted to use the train (the station was just opposite). The house was very nicely decorated and furnished. The continental breakfast was excellent and included lovely homemade jams, pancakes and fresh fruit salad. The owner and his friend were so nice and helpful! They prepared an evening meal for us at short notice because it was raining so heavily that we couldn't go out, and on the last morning, when we found we had a flat tyre, they let us stay until we finally got the problem sorted. They helped by talking in Spanish to the breakdown service which was so useful. I would definitely recommend staying there if you are planning to walk the Caminito del Rey!
Nothing.

Breakfast was served outside in the lovely garden. Coffee refills, fresh pancakes, eggs were always offered. Beers were ice cold. Pool was always clean and open. Very friendly and accommodating owners/staff. 2 minutes from Alora station which goes directly into Malaga. Authentic Spanish house. All room facilities in good working order.
We had to go home.............

This hotel was a real find. The location was great. Located strategically to access El Caminito del Rey, or Marbella or other towns in the periphery. If you wanted to just relax in the beautiful environment stay back and enjoy. The pool was fantastic, the grounds well cared for and the owner, Olvier was, what can we say? A true jewel. He serves great dinners, prepared by his partner and has an excellent collection of beers from all over the world. You can enjoy the evening, under the stars, sipping your wine or beer. Nothing to distract you, complete relaxation! Also, Oliver is well connected to agencies that can help you get tickets to El Caminito del Rey or to a restaurant. He knows the area well and what to us was important, he knows the history of his own property and the area in general.
We found that parking was a bit hard. If you had a big car, you could not fit in that space. But that did not deters one from enjoying the place.
