We recently stayed at this hotel and found it to be a convenient base for exploring the city. The location is excellent, making it easy to visit the main attractions and get around. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which added to the positive experience. Our room was spacious and included a fridge, which was a nice touch. While the decor is a bit outdated, it didn't really bother us, as the room was still comfortable and well-equipped. Overall, a good choice for a short stay.

I stayed at the property for 4 nights, the staff was just incredibly friendly and helpful. The food was great and the location perfect to have walk around plateau on foot. I would recommend !

Quiet but central area of Dakar Plateau. Walking distance to great cultural sites (Gorée Island ferry terminal, Sandaga and Kermel markets, Independence Palace, train station, IFAN, and Museum of African Civilizations).

I like the location, professionalism of the staff. I took a lot of cabs all over Dakar and all the drivers know how to get there. It was super convenient.

I can’t really say I found anything unpleasant about my stay.

staying here in studdete room for past 20 years plus. always first preference to stay in dakar is cafe de room as it has a kitchen and a mini market right across can cook break fast coffee even lunch

I love the proximity of the hotel with almost everything (restaurants, banks, shops, and embassies!). The staff were amazing. They always ensured that I was safe considering the current political tension in Senegal. I also loved their airport shuttle. The drivers are so amazing and friendly! I would definitely recommend Café de Rome to anyone going to Dakar. You won't regret it

Beside the fantastic location of the property in the heart of the city (metres away from the presidential palace), relative to the places I needed to visit (mainly CODESRIA and UCAD), the other features that stood out to me the most about the property were the sizeable and well articulated bathroom (loved the wall tiles), and the fact that the room also had a sizeable balcony that allowed me to enjoy a view of the city and take some interesting pictures. The hotel also had several dining options around it other than the hotel restaurant and I would encourage anyone staying there to endeavour to take a walk around the hotel to explore these. Oh! and I must mention, ALL the front desk staff were exceptionally courteous and helpful; particularly Malik, Maye and one other gentleman and lady that I didn’t quite catch their names. wifi at the hotel was also quite reliable. All in, I would rate the experience a 9/10 for me.

That the room I stayed in wasn’t white. But this is a most personal preference. The room was well lit enough that it wasn’t such a bother.
