What a hidden gem. A true Carribean oasis and very special property all around! Literally steps to the stunning Simpson Bay beach so beautiful and walkable. The view from our room was amazing! A lovely roof top viewing area for sunsets and plane spotting was a great feature as well. Staff are wonderful. From bartenders to maintenance to beach servers. . .All wonderful! The convenience to a small store for waters and necessities was great. Mary's Boon provides bikes with baskets to get the items! Also walking distance to all the action on Airport Road and Pelican area. (Just be careful of your surroundings during traffic hours since sidewalks are not always available but it's doable for sure.) You can also grab a bus for $2.00 to get to Philipsburg or Maho and the drivers are very sweet and helpful. We plan to return next year!

Loved everything.

I liked the vibe, just people coming to hotel for lunch/ dinner to have a chat at the bar. I liked the Tortoises and I was told I could feed them relevant leaves which they seems to enjoy. The beach is really nice nice at Simpson Bay it may seem rough just at the shore. but if one wades in slightly lying on ones back at sunset is a great experience. My trip was February by the way. A store in a 6 minute walk was good for supplies. I was self catering in a beach king room

I feel a deeper clean of the room, fridge etc would have been good. Slightly dated but fine by me

Love the location near the airport and if you like to walk, lots of restaurants like Skip Jacks within walking distance. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the beach (coffee maker provided, but bring your own coffee, water and filters). Delicious meals and loved seeing the sunset from the restaurant. Also, rooftop area to watch airplanes takeoff and land. All the staff (reception, restaurant, groundskeepers) are awesome). We will definitely consider staying here again. We were unable to check-in early, but they do allow you to leave your luggage in the lobby area at your own risk. It’s a short taxi ride to the airport.

Parking is tight and there are few restaurant options in the immediate area.

This is my favorite property on the island. It is clean, comfortable, the staff is very friendly although some people wouldn’t like it being right next to the airport we found it charming we. This is a boutique/special hotel that sits right on the best stretch of beach on the island. We walked about a mile and a half in either direction every day. Just a special place and we found two types of people staying there people that come back all the time and then they were the first time as who will never stay anywhere else

Nothing

This place is located right next to the airport runway, so getting here is very easy, but not in walking distance. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The food is great, beach is great also. Great views of the water and planes landing and taking off!! That being said, it could be a little noisy at first, but we got used to it very quickly. We stayed in 2 different rooms, both were very clean, but the sizes very, depending on what's available, and how much you want to spend. It's a quant little resort, that has been around for many decades and survived many hurricanes. Over all, a great experience, and we will definitely will come back again.

Can be noisy when the big planes land and take off, but that is expected, and actual nice to see up close. Big planes don't land before 9, and last take off before 7, so not a problem at night.

The location is absolutely perfect! Great vibe too, nice and relaxed. Don’t expect a super modern facility, but I personally like the bit-old fashioned and original accommodations, rather than the slick all-look-the-same ones. Friendly personnel too. We’d 100% go there again.

I just can’t get used to seeing birds in a cage. Come on people, it’s 2024!! This might have been an “acceptable thing” years ago but surely not any longer. Let them fly :)

The beach is private, beautiful, allows dogs and has a bar. What more could you want to relax for the day along with man’s best friend and a freshly made pina colada. The decor is quaint and colourful and like you’re in a village all to yourself. The staff were wonderful. My dog was spoiled with “hellos”. Thank you everyone at the hotel.

I really did not mind it, but some people who are on the grumpy side might find the next door Princess Juliana Airport runway a bit loud with the big aircraft, but plane spotters will love it. I did.

Beautifully positioned on the Beach, stayed here five years ago and the management has changed. The Hotel & the Dutch side of St. Maarten as a whole is moving away from the colonial Netherlands in the sun, to an extension of the USA. There is nothing wrong with that, but for me loosing that Dutch charm is a loss. The food has also moved to a more American menu, how much burger & ribs can you eat? Still fantastic weather, clean beaches, incredible waters. If you like the aircraft, a view roof for watching the take offs & landings, bit of fun.

This is the Netherlands West Indies, how about some traditional Dutch food, beers? Might want to sort out the back up genset, handy if any further blackouts. But great little hotel, if not a bit pricey now.

Mary Boon's is conveniently located near the Sint Maarten airport. The rooms open up onto the beach where one can enjoy the sand, sea and sunshine during the warm sunny days of beautifully cool nights - with a drink from the resort's bar. My room was clean and comfortable with a fan as well as AC. I could also open the windows (without the AC, of course) to let in the ocean breeze and hear the surf at night. A small grocery store a short walk away sells beer, milk, tea etc. The resort has a restaurant and several other restaurants and stores are a short walk in town.

The sound of planes landing and taking off from the airport can be a bit overpowering. However, Princess Juliana airport is not very busy and there are no flights at night so the sounds are not too disturbing.
