I had a really wonderful stay in Hotel Jama. First of all, I would like to make a huge shout-out to the staff at the reception: they were really friendly, social and helpful. The contact was very personal: I was always greeted kindly or wished good morning, they remember your face and ask, for example, whether I had enjoyed a particular sight. Otherwise: room was fine, well furnished, with a nice bed. Breakfast was very extensive and always freshly prepared.

Tip for improvement: certain things in the room did not work or did not work properly, e.g. the air conditioning and the shower head holder.

The hotel has a spacious, safe and cheap private parking which was good for us as we arrived by our own car. The location is quiet and safe, close to the highway, a good base for exploring that part of Slovenia. And of course, it is right next to the entrance to Postojna Cave. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. The hotel is quite old, but has been renovated and is in very good condition.

The hotel's exterior architecture resembles an old socialist building, with lots of concrete. We had a room "with a view of the park", but in fact the balcony overlooks the concrete buildings that are the hotel's auxiliary buildings. The park is just beyond that. The breakfast was average. The biggest minus I would give is the fact that there are no restaurants open in the immediate vicinity that are open in the evening. The only option for dinner is the hotel buffet. Although during the day the location is bustling with tourists visiting Postojna Cave, in the evening it all goes quiet. The room price was quite high, probably because of the tourists who come for Postojna Cave, but the hotel's offer itself does not really justify the price.

Every staff person was helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable.

There were only minor quibbles. The water temperature in the shower fluctuated wildly. There was a little dog somewhere near my room; the dog was yapping for much of the first day, to the point that I did not want to use the balcony. I suspect that a guest had left a small dog on the balcony of their room and left, leaving the dog frustrated. Lastly, for the breakfast on the first of my two mornings, it was rather crowded in the breakfast area. I went much earlier the second morning, and there was not such a hustle and bustle.

Staff were so helpful and gave lots of advice on trips etc. the room was stunning!! Absolutely gorgeous views and it felt very clean and well maintained. It was very relaxing and everything we could have asked for. The breakfast was delicious. It was overall a wonderful stay at a really gorgeous hotel and incredibly well priced for the room.

The breakfast was lovely, however it was very busy and felt a little understaffed. The tables weren’t cleared quickly and there were long queues for tea and coffee etc. Also the buffet dinner looked very overpriced. We went into town and had a really gorgeous dinner with wine for less of the cost of a buffet dinner at the restaurant which didn’t include drinks. The location felt very focused on staying at the hotel and seeing the cave/castle and not enough information was available about the town which is a short walk away.

Our stay was absolutely fantastic Beautiful modern hotel ,big car park ,lift available , Shops and cafe right beside you too ,attractions are only literally outside the doorstep, the views of slovenia landscapes at sunset are priceless each corner of the hotel has lovely views, the bedrooms are very modern all ammendenties available, bathroom amazing ,the balcony is very big sitting area nice to chill out The buffet for breakfast so many choices and nicely served and organised there's so many options We had dinner here as well ,everything was fresh so inviting, so many choices to choose from vegetarian options fish and meat ,plenty to offer great set up We enjoyed the food and the room but the most important one was the staff from the girl in reception that checked us in she was absolutely fantastic so helpful and very welcoming To the resturant staff were fantastic ,one in particular staff we absolutely adored was Boro so attentive so nice and always smiling ,he recommended the best beer 🍺 he made sure we were always OK ,probably the best waiter we ever encountered so thank you for making our last night in slovenia memorable and filled with joy and laughter We are already making plans to come back to this hotel ,.

Not enough days we wish we were here longer

A true hidden gem! The hotel is stylish, modern, and spotlessly clean. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The scenery around was breathtaking, and the surrounding area is perfect for relaxing evening walks. The food is simply delicious, and the cave experience is absolutely fantastic! We traveled with kids and parents – three generations together – and every one of us was impressed. Highly recommended!

Everything was perfect at the postojna cave hotel jama! The room was big and had plenty of room for the 5 of us and had air conditioning which is always a must:). Location was right where you needed to be…next to the cave. The food at the hotel was great. No complaints at all

The only thing that would’ve been nice, which has nothing to do with the hotel, was if the restaurants below the hotel were open later. Everything closed so early and there were so few options to eat within walking distance but the hotel was perfect.

The location was excellent and provided great value for the price. If you ever find yourself feeling too tired to continue your journey after exploring the stunning Postojna Cave, this hotel is undoubtedly the best choice for a restful night. The rooms were impeccably clean and modern. I was particularly impressed with the mattress—it was firm yet incredibly comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep. The staff at the hotel were helpful. The breakfast provided was good, offering a variety of options to start the day off right. This hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. The combination of cleanliness, comfort, and excellent service makes it a standout choice. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Postojna Cave area.

We booked the half-board option, which included dinner. This is one area where the hotel could improve. The dinner options were limited, with only salmon and stir-fried beef and vegetables available. There were no roasted dishes on offer, not a fancy menu, which was a bit disappointing. Enhancing the variety and quality of the dinner menu would greatly improve the overall dining experience.

Very well staffed including the restaurant. Hotel kept very clean. Efficient, friendly staff who seem to all speak English. Excellent location for the caves and other local sightseeing locations. We used Postojna railway station to travel by train to Ljubliana and also visited Trieste. Good parking at the front of the hotel.

No kettle. Apparently this is for health and hygiene reasons. Nothing to hold onto in the shower which we consider a potential health and safety issue. Very poor TV reception. The picture kept freezing and pixelating.

What a view and location! Really enjoyed our stay, the room was amazing, loved the idea that one side of bathroom is made of glass which is covered by a curtain, if you open the curtain, you can have a shower with a great view of the beautiful nature surrounding the hotel. The view from our room was just breathtaking. The breakfast was delicious, there was such a big selection of foods, self-service buffet. The staff on the reception desk were very welcoming and helpful, we could even use the parking space after the check out for free. They explained to us about all the attractions around which I found very helpful. Will definitely come again.

The only thing I missed was the slippers in the room, and there is no food available in the hotel after 9pm. Regardless, amazing stay, thank you!
