Great view

The boat cruise is a bit pricey and information on other activities should be availed prior to arrival

The staff were absolutely friendly, welcoming and accommodating. They really made our stay enjoyable. My husband and I were so chuffed by the singing of happy birthday with a slice of cake followed by our room being decorated with candles and rose petals. We both were awestruck when we entered our room after dinner. The staff really did go out of their way and made my husband feel so special! From the guard at the entry gate to housekeeping to reception and restaurant staff, everyone gets a 5 star for exceptional service.

Due to not eating beef and pork, I was limited to having meals off the breakfast and dinner buffets.

The views were awesome, the staff were exceptional and they were very efficient, Simpihwe, Zodwa, Thubelinie just to name a few. Anthing we requested was not to much. We even got a free cae wash. The chef made the perfect eggs. The dqily programme for the kids was an excellent bonus. Overall a very pleasant stay. Resturant and room service facilities also helping allot on evenings one didn't wnat to dress up and go out for supper.

The ants, they are all over the pool deck and also in the parking lot, if you dont move the car frequently, they get into the vehicle. One visiting staff memeber made our stay a little uneasy on one of the days. But we managed to navigate through it. The water slide was under maintenance for our entire stay which was a bit of a bummer.

The location and staff were absolutely phenomenal!! Couldn’t be more beautiful and the staff couldn’t be more helpful. Such lovely personal touches like chocolates on your pillow and a new bed time story every evening, these were so appreciated. Kids absolutely loved all the slides, and movies in the evenings. Rooms were clean and spacious, we stayed in a loft room. Food was good, we did the buffet for breakfast and dinner and enjoyed it.

My only suggestion would be to upgrade the boat motors for the activities, particularly for fishing. The better fishing spots are further out into the main dam and some of the fishing boat motors are too slow to get there (not sure if this would be a lodge issue however, it would be worth looking into)

I loved their breakfast. The breakfast menu changed everyday, while we were there. Their food is amazing, not salty, not spicey and no excessive oil. Their staff is very attentive. One doesn’t have to go researching for them, especially at the dining/ breakfast area. They are always visible and willing to help, with a smile. The best service, even with house keeping, very impressive.

The colour of the dam, as not as per picture. It rained heavily prior to our arrival, hence the difference. I’m not blaming anyone. Nature took charge as usual🤣. I would have loved to see that colour. I guess all the more reason to go back later, after rainy season.

The hotel has exceptional views of the Pongola River. We had whiskey and wine with our dinner, which was good. The swimming pool was a delight. Although the rooms was clean, it was a bit neglected. Didn't bother us at all, but the stairs from the main building to the rooms and the hallways was a bit dusty and there are a lot of chips and scratches on the halls and the tiles in the bathroom are stained (but clean!!). The aircon was very noisy, but I used the sound as a good bit of white noise. Slept like a baby!

We weren't instructed to hand the keys in at reception and to get some or other stamped paper. The ladies already started cleaning our rooms when we left and we left the keys in the doors. Created a bit of a problem at the gate. We could have missed the instruction, but if we didn't the check-in could be a bit more informative.

The rooms are spacious, well equipped and clean with a beautiful view of the dam. The staff is extremely kind, friendly and helpful. The staff at the spa was also great during my treatment

The food- I ordered my meals off the menu (I didn’t want the buffet) and the menu is so incredibly limited and the food doesn’t provide much of a culinary experience which given the isolated location of the lodge would be great since I don’t really have other places to get my meals from. I would strongly recommend you invest in a suitably qualified chef to help improve the food quality. The boat cruise was incredibly lousy especially for the cost, I was hoping it would also be educational regarding the history of the area and dam but it was really just people sitting on a boat cruising around the dam

The property’s location was absolutely stunning—a serene haven with breathtaking views in every direction. The rooms were exceptionally comfortable, making our stay even more enjoyable. The staff went above and beyond, with special mention to Ntombikayise, our wonderful waitress throughout our visit—she was truly outstanding! Casslyn, he was the manager who ensured everything ran smoothly, was fantastic. Hats off to the entire team for delivering such an incredible experience!

While the property was overall lovely, one thing I didn’t like was the bathrooms—they’re quite old and outdated, in need of upgrades and better maintenance. For the price of the stay, the facilities should be slightly more modernized to match expectations. Additionally, the buffet didn’t offer a wide variety for the price, and the à la carte menu was so limited that it left little choice but to opt for the buffet, which unfortunately wasn’t very impressive.

Breakfast was excellent but was disappointed with the dinner buffet they only served chicken pork and wors no variety on meat as i thought since it was a buffet, Cocktail as well was not spot on so dinner was thumbs down but breakfast thumbs up.

Dinner Buffet Variety especially on protein at least have lamb or beef or fish and chicken or do curries as well to accommodate everyone in your accommodation.

Jozini Tiger Lodge had a great variety at their breakfast and dinner buffets. The meals were delicious, and they had different buffet options set out every morning and evening. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and we could see that they are extremely proud of the work they do. Our view from the room was exceptional as we had a view of Jozini lake and the dam wall. We had a special request for a birthday surprise, and the team went above and beyond to make my partner's birthday so much more special. I would like to thank the whole team for their professionalism, friendliness and hospitality. We would definitely visit again in the future.

The weather didn't permit us to do a few activities, however, the tranquility of the lodge made us completely forget about the weather altogether.
