As we were the only guests for that night we ended up with a suite which was great- but it was in the original thatched cottage- which we loved- but if you wanted modern this would not be for you. Breakfast was good- and dinner there the night before was okay, but obviously as it was only us I think they limited the menu. Still a good choice and more than we could eat. Let us leave our car in the secure parking whilst we took in the two tourist attractions at the end of the street 👍🏻

Bathroom would have benefited from an extractor fan.

Quiet location in street away from the main street. Very friendly staff and flexibility to book in early. Nice pool area to cool off. Will stay there again if opportunity presents itself

An aircon in rooms would make a big difference, especially in summer days like we had at the time but the fans compensated nicely.

What a surprise to find this original little boutique hotel - not trying to pretend to be anything it's not and very quaint with original features and decor to suit the era. Sadly it was raining so we didn't get a chance to use the pool which looked lovely or wander around the gardens which has white roses in bloom. The shower water pressure was amazing - best we have had so far in South Africa. Wifi was great too despite others rating it low. Beautiful cafe just a few minutes down the road and lovely menu for dinner and brekky in the hotel. Bookings.com had not communicated our change of date so they expected us the day before but they quickly sorted a room for us.

perhaps could do with a little maintenance like the ceiling in the bathroom but other than that everything was great.

Super cool location. Dinner was excellent. The very private room (honeymoon suite) was very comfy, clean and well-stocked. The bathroom was spacious with an incredible view of the valley from the shower. The little plunge pool on the veranda was a welcomed addition. The veranda was an epic place to chill and watch the sun set.

Not much to say here. I can’t think of any dislikes.

Lovely buildings. Room was beautifully decorated, bathroom was gorgeous. Beds were very comfortable. Shower was amazing. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was clean and bedding was lovely.

They really need to invest in new towels. The ones they have are just a bit bigger than the hand towels. Had my husband been with me I have no idea how he would have managed.

My request for a fridge was swiftly met as was assistance for a puncture caused by a thorn. I had two dinners which were delicious as was a bottle of their own Syrah grape wine. Would definitely stay there again.

A net over the breakfast buffet would help keep away the inevitable flies!

Lovely old characterful buildings. Lovely staff, they could not have been more friendly and helpful. Food was good.

The rooms are a little tired. On one level it is quaint and rustic, on another it needs a bit of a refresh. We liked it mainly because of the lovely staff.

Great breakfast. Decent stay. Solid furniture . Full DSTV package.

The room had a weird old smell. The entrance gate had to be operated manually. The place was a bit stuffy, but I did mention to the receptionist that the windows need to be opened a bit as it can be stuffy. I did not really like the location as there is nothing in the town

I have stayed here many times in the past 3 years and have always been very comfortable and well looked after

WiFi has deteriorated since my last stay and for a self-employed entrepreneur who needs to be able to work this is a real downside

The Vinotel is a historical gem that should be experienced: extremely tasteful and impressive. A professional and unusually helpful staff work in this setting. The food in the restaurant was excellent and a lovely experience.
