Beautiful setting on a bill overlooking the ocean. Gorgeous sunsets, and adorable zebras all over. The common room was stunning, with a cozy fire and huge floor to ceiling windows. The food was amazing! Book the dinner…you won’t regret it. The made to order breakfast was also very good. I especially loved the soft muffin type breakfast rolls with powdered sugar…I’d pay for that recipe, they were delectable. We stayed in a luxury tent. Very comfortable, with super soft plush robes, and a warming blanket to keep us warm on a chilly night. Amazing stay, and we’ll tell our friends.

Highly recommended – one of the most beautiful lodges during our South Africa trip in October/November. The J-Bay Zebra Lodge is a true highlight, especially because of the free-roaming zebras that frequently pass by the lodge. It’s important to know that this isn’t a zoo; the zebras are still wild animals, though they are accustomed enough to people to come close. A respectful distance should still be kept; for instance, touching or petting them isn’t possible. Florbela and her husband are charming hosts; we had several pleasant conversations about the country, the people, and the creation of the lodge. We also had dinner at the lodge twice. Although it was a bit more expensive than dining in Jeffreys Bay, we were very satisfied both times and found the atmosphere to be very pleasant and inviting. We stayed in a separate cottage to the right of the lodge and were thrilled by the spacious room and the stunning view over the land all the way to Jeffreys Bay. If you love zebras, enjoy quality accommodations, and want a reasonably priced stay in this area, you should absolutely spend two nights at this lodge.

I recently stayed at JBay Zebra Lodge, and it was a delightful experience. The breakfast was wonderful, offering a variety of fresh and delicious options that catered to different tastes. The location of the lodge is ideal for a peaceful getaway from the city, with its close proximity to both Jeffrey's Bay and Qgeberha. This makes it a perfect spot for exploring the beautiful surroundings while enjoying a serene and relaxing environment. Highly recommended for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life!

Very nice place, we loved it here! The rooms are spacious and the cleanest we have ever seen! The beds are very comfortable. You see the zebras every day, they are fun to watch. We had dinner three times, its a 3 course meal and was very tasty. They had great vegetarian options also. The staff was very friendly, so were the owners, a couple from switzerland. The owner recommanded a walk on the dunes only 10 minutes from the guesthouse by car. It was stunningly beautiful! We would love to come again some day when our son is older.

We didn't realise when we booked that it is not in JBay, but about 30 mins drive away. The name is a little misleading. We had staff come into our room before we'd checked out(I was actually still in the room getting ready!) To "check what we'd used" . That felt a bit unnecessary and not very professional. We also had some issues with the way breakfast was served - all the food placed on our table before we'd even gotten to the dining room, and covered in flies as none of it was covered up. A bit grim. Unfortunate as breakfast looked lovely but we didn't eat much of it because of that. Perhaps better to wait until guests actually there ,/ or cover everything up.

This place is truly a 10 out of 10, I've been on this Earth for 33 years and have not been to such a magical place. Everything from the owners to the staff to the lodge and of course of the zebras in his beyond your comprehension. I would highly recommend anyone to go out of their way to experience what we experienced. I have stayed at hotels that cost over $1,000 a night and this one is by far the most magical. This place tells a story of a couple who wanted to live a life by their own means and share it with the world.

Absolutely unique stay. Zebras are really everywhere and almost always present. The lodge is amazing and the interieur exquisit. We enjoyed every second. You should stay for dinner, the food is very good. Florbela and Didier are wonderful hosts with the friendliest staff. Could’t ask for more. Would definitely come back again.

This is 100 out of 10! A truly exceptional place. Excellent in every detail. Beautiful views of the hills and ocean, luxurious chalets with fireplaces, everything is thought out to the smallest detail. The wonderful owners provide a truly warm welcome. Possibly the best hotel we have ever stayed at. Be sure to book dinner at the hotel - it's amazing - and try the wine that was developed for this amazing location.

The amount of flies 😳 which is understandable with wild life around however it would have been nice to have had a room spray or the like available. It was not pleasant to sit outside because we didn't not have a repellent
