We had an absolutely fabulous stay! The only downside was we wished we could have stayed longer. We certainly will be back and for a longer stay. We had a warm welcome and couldn’t have been looked after any better, from check-in to check-out. Dinner was delicious, the wine too. Breakfast was perfect. The young man at the little bar on the grounds was charming and the gentleman in the Monastery shop was kind and welcoming. Our room overlooked the front into the mountains, beautiful view. The room was absolutely spotless and the shower was warm and had powerful (you don’t find that in many places). The museum was interesting, the church and its mosaics beautifully and the whole monastery gives you this wonderful feeling of peace. Thank you to All from Us both.

The fact we had to leave so soon.

Very quiet location at the end of the road. Superb scenery and road up to the hotel. Excellent parking for our motorbikes outside the reception door. Food is rustic, but tasty. Don’t expect Michelin stars, but do expect wholesome tasty meals. Church attached is magnificent, museum very good. Don’t expect any much nightlife.

The peaceful location. The good food and the friendly and helpful staff. We just loved our stay here {the third time this year} and hopefully we will be back next year on our way to or from the ferry at Santander or Bilbao down to the Costa Blanca area.

Stunning location and wonderful welcome. The monastery is perched on a hill and looks awesome as you approach. The welcome From the Young gentleman on reception was really wonderful, the room was comfortable but not special, dinner and breakfast were fine but again not special, but all in all it was amazing value and very pleasurable stay.

Beautiful location and the accommodations were great. Really liked having meals available on site. Nicely maintained very clean facilities. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Very unique accommodation. So glad we made the journey. Wish we could have stayed longer. Would like to return.

the general ambience and location and idea of what a monastery would be like to stay in. we were the only guests and they made dinner only for us. staff extremely nice.

the only bad thing and not the hotels problem, was the day we were there there must have been a family re union as there were hundreds of people having a bbq /picnic on the grounds and stayed all day and were extremely noisy and no parking..But as i said when they all left at 8 we were the only ones there.it just took away from the solitude experience..

Amazing location. Absolutely amazing. Never slept in a more special place. Peace, quiet and natural beauty.

The rooms are clean. Let there be no misunderstanding. Clean and comfortable. One thing that could be improved is ventilation in the bathroom. The paint on the ceiling was peeling off, I guess because of all the accumulated moisture

Genuinely warm welcome. Arrived just in time for a lovely lunch with local traditional ingredients. Staff could not have been nicer. Great room: no frills but all one needs to be comfortable. Peace. Quiet. Impressive natural surroundings. Contemplative and truly spiritual sanctuary. Enjoyed our attempts at the Valvanera Walking Trail in spite of weather and rain cutting it short on two occasions. Would definitely stay longer another time.

Lovely accommodation part of working monastry. Lovely clean room. Comfy bed. Superb quiet location. Lovely friendly staff. Very reasonably priced 3 course meal for 15 euros each and 7 euros for nice bottle of Rioja. Cafeteria there too for sandwiches and drinks. Motorbike friendly with secure parking. We loved staying here. So peaceful.

Really beautiful fairly remote location, very scenic with nice hiking. Nice getaway from the cities. The server in the bar was very friendly and went out of her way to serve us some jamon, cheese, and bread as we were quite hungry and had not planned our lunch well that day.

Wish the dinner was a bit better since the location is so remote with very limited options. Breakfast was basic continental but good.
