We stayed at Cortijo Carrillo at the end of November. It was just the kind of lovely peaceful farmhouse in the middle of olive groves that we expected. The room was very clean and idyllic, the beds were also excellent. The host Juan was very helpful and asked in advance about our breakfast preferences and gave good tips on places to visit.

The yard could perhaps be swept more often to remove leaves from the trees even at this time of year.

Peaceful, isolated location. Very attractive old farmhouse with beautiful courtyard, extensive views and a superb swimming pool. Excellent communal facilities and an incredible choice of healthy options for breakfast every morning. Juan was an excellent host, always happy to respond to any request for information about the surrounding area and facilities available.

The premises, our room and the facilities were all perfect from our point of view.

Wonderful stay in a "casa rural" surrounded by an olive grove and a view of Peña de los Enamorados. We were positively surprised by the abundant breakfast (incl. attention to special dietary needs and some of their own produce). The room was also very comfortable, with a good bed. We couldn't have wished for anything more. Thank you, Juan + mother.

There was nothing we didn't like.

We stayed just one night on our way back from a two week trip. We didn't expect anything other than a shower and a warm bed. We were completely surprised by the accommodation and the super friendly host. It is a family run guesthouse with a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. Excellent breakfast with local products.

It was a little chilly in the evening and morning, but that's on us, we have to go back in summer.

The location in the olive groves is quiet and idyllic. Juan is very nice. He had good tips about where to go horse riding nearby. The breakfast was good and included typical regional and even homemade things. In the evening you can sit on the terrace or in the beautyful courtyard. Drinks can be bought on site.

It is a bit of a pity that breakfast is served in a room without a terrace. There is no shower curtain in the shower. The water floods the room.

Excellent communication prior to our visit and welcome on arrival. We enjoyed again the rural setting, views, quiet courtyard where we could have a drink and read/play games.

It is a shame that dinner is no longer available on site but we were informed prior to our visit and the owner pointed us towards a bar restaurant in the nearby village. In the event, we ate such excellent lunches (again recommended by the owner) that an evening snack was sufficient.

Really beautiful rural farm guesthouse run impeccably by the owner Juan. A perfect place to recharge the batteries in comfort after a week of sightseeing and before a week of fun in Torremolinos. Most comfortable bed we had in 5 weeks of travel. Great big pool to relax by. Friendly dog, cats and multiple horses and ponies. Did I mention the view towards Antequera? Or the terrific breakfast included?

Nada.

It was a very quite and tranquil place.

It’s a pet friendly hotel, which isn’t in the information of the hotel. Guests are allowed to bring their dogs to breakfast, which we found uncomfortable. One day we were at the pool and three couple had their dogs running around, one even let theirs into the pool. When we asked them nicely to tie up their dogs (as is stated on the entrance to the pool) only one couple did. I am very nervous around dogs so this was really not a nice experience. It should be clearly stated that guests are allowed to bring their pets.

If you want to stay away from crowd within olive tree plantations as starting point for visiting cities like Malaga and Cordoba, than Cortijo Carrillo is just for you. Breakfast is rich and served with home made ingredients. There are some nice restaurants nearby with excellent food. You will meet pleasant staff who really care about the guest wellbeing. It is an excellent point to start your walk or bike routes.

This is a very special place. It is in a beautiful and rural area but close to the lovely and historically important town of Antequera. Our room was lovely, the breakfast was terrific, there is a pool, and animals! Juan, the owner is an extremely welcoming host with great recommendations. Cortijo Carrillo is a bit out of the way but that just adds to its considerable appeal. Thank you, Juan!
