It was such a personal and relaxed vibe. The host met us at our car and checked us in, he also insisted on opening for breakfast slightly early so that we could eat before heading out for an early ticket time for the Alahambra. The self service bar was a nice touch and chilling on the terrace in the shade, watching the swifts soar then perch under the roof, is a memory I'll keep forever. The breakfast was excellent and the only bar/restaurant in the village was very hospitable and welcoming and cooked excellent meals.

It is very rural,which suited us very well, but it's not for everyone. The pool and pool area is nice, but to access it you have to cross an unmade piece of land, which means you have to wear shoes. This is picky, but there wasn't much else to not like

Lovely cortijo nicely located, a haven of peace and silence. The rooms are big and comfortable and have everything you need. There is a big swimming pool for cooling down on hot summer afternoons. Excellent place for visiting the area such as the El Torcal nature park or the historic cities of Antequera or Archidona. Juan and his mother do a great job, we felt very welcome. The breakfast is extensive with homemade products all served with a lovely smile. We enjoyed our stay very much, gracias for your hospitality Juan!

Nothing, everything was fine

Beautiful, spacious property, in a very peaceful and picturesque location, private and fenced parking, well equipped rooms (AC + ceiling fan, which is an excellent addition especially at nights), comfortable bed, nice swimming pool, very good breakfast, no problem communicating in English (which is not common in Spain)

- Doors to suites can be replaced with some soundproof ones - Corridor's door should be fixed or doubled as it sometimes opens due to wind blows

We stayed at Cortijo Carrillo at the end of November. It was just the kind of lovely peaceful farmhouse in the middle of olive groves that we expected. The room was very clean and idyllic, the beds were also excellent. The host Juan was very helpful and asked in advance about our breakfast preferences and gave good tips on places to visit.

The yard could perhaps be swept more often to remove leaves from the trees even at this time of year.

Wonderful stay in a "casa rural" surrounded by an olive grove and a view of Peña de los Enamorados. We were positively surprised by the abundant breakfast (incl. attention to special dietary needs and some of their own produce). The room was also very comfortable, with a good bed. We couldn't have wished for anything more. Thank you, Juan + mother.

There was nothing we didn't like.

We stayed just one night on our way back from a two week trip. We didn't expect anything other than a shower and a warm bed. We were completely surprised by the accommodation and the super friendly host. It is a family run guesthouse with a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. Excellent breakfast with local products.

It was a little chilly in the evening and morning, but that's on us, we have to go back in summer.

Juan (speaks English) and mom were very kind and welcoming. GREAT place, lovely breakfast area. Great breakfast (she even made eggs on request)! Super value for money. Clean, good beds, good shower. So glad we stayed 2 nights! It was great having a swimming pool at the end of the day. Ate at the local village restaurant, good food, nice people.

Everything was wonderful!

Peaceful, isolated location. Very attractive old farmhouse with beautiful courtyard, extensive views and a superb swimming pool. Excellent communal facilities and an incredible choice of healthy options for breakfast every morning. Juan was an excellent host, always happy to respond to any request for information about the surrounding area and facilities available.

The premises, our room and the facilities were all perfect from our point of view.

The location in the olive groves is quiet and idyllic. Juan is very nice. He had good tips about where to go horse riding nearby. The breakfast was good and included typical regional and even homemade things. In the evening you can sit on the terrace or in the beautyful courtyard. Drinks can be bought on site.

It is a bit of a pity that breakfast is served in a room without a terrace. There is no shower curtain in the shower. The water floods the room.

Excellent communication prior to our visit and welcome on arrival. We enjoyed again the rural setting, views, quiet courtyard where we could have a drink and read/play games.

It is a shame that dinner is no longer available on site but we were informed prior to our visit and the owner pointed us towards a bar restaurant in the nearby village. In the event, we ate such excellent lunches (again recommended by the owner) that an evening snack was sufficient.
