Our whole stay at Almohalla 51 was an amazing experience! We particularly liked all the different places where you could sit and relax, from quirky snugs to poolside sunbeds, all very homely and welcoming. Loved the style and comfort of our room; amazing bed and pillows meant we slept well and the shower was excellent. The lovely fresh breakfasts were plentiful and set us up each day and we highly recommend the paella night, absolutely delicious! The location is perfect for walking and it was a joy to see so many beautiful wildflowers everywhere we walked (May). Archidona is a beautiful place to visit, Jo and Ken know the area and history so well and were a great help to us in planning where to walk, eat, visit, etc. We thoroughly enjoyed staying there and met some lovely people. Just wonderful!

All great with the property! The local bus service was limited so would consider hiring a car for future visits to explore the wider region.

We spent two nights as the only guests here and had a wonderful time, feeling that we had booked a private villa. The owners are very friendly and did everything to make us feel at home. Small touches like complimentary cake and tea/coffee in the afternoon, bringing us cold water and ice cubes by the pool adds to the experience. Breakfast is very tasty and prepared with love. We loved the pool area. Room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. Good shower too and even a bath tub. Good fans are provided but I must admit that I missed aircondition at night since the temperature was very high during our stay. Ken offered great tips for restaurants and things to do, including the special experience of buying cookies from the nuns in the local monastery.

First of all and the most important - excellent communication with hosts: if you wanted them to be present they were there, if not - they were discretely staying aside. This hotel is more than a hotel, you really feel being at home away from home. Super place to chill around - a lounge with chimney, relaxing music, board games, drinks and cake available all day long. Outside terraces with views. Spacious rooms, comfortable beds, nice bed linen and towels, super breakfast. Archidona - fantastic spot to stay in a small, cozy town and explore beautiful places around. Definitely will be back to enjoy more of the region and of the Almohalla 51!

There was really nothing that we didn't like. But for people with mobility issues and families with small kids it is important to note that there are many steps within the hotel, and some openings would be difficult to pass with baby equipment.

The hosts were very nice and helpful and made us feel at home. The room was warm and there was also a fire every evening in the main area which was wonderful as we were there in December. There were good restaurants nearby to eat and this was a convenient location to explore the surrounding area. The outside courtyard is very charming and the hotel only has 5-6 rooms which we liked

The room was dark, and there were very steep steps to access the room, Although very well renovated, this is an old house so that was to be expected. The parking is public parking in back of the property and we are not sure if this is always available.

We had a wonderful time at Almohalla 51! The hotel is centrally located and easy to access. The old village cottage has been restored to perfection with beautiful paintings and other works of art. Ken and Jo are fabulous hosts and have a wonderful eye for detail. The breakfasts were delicious with fresh, local produce and the cocktails by the pool were thoroughly appreciated! We would highly recommend this hotel for anybody wanting a peaceful retreat and looking for a personalised experience. Thank you, Ken and Jo!

Almohalla 51 is a charming BnB decorated in a rustic style. The owners are very hospitable and went out of their way to make me feel welcome. Breakfast is very good and is taken on a lovely little terrace, which as a real pleasure in the early mornings. I recommend the Gin fizz as a nice afternoon cocktail. This is a very quiet, relaxing location perfect for a nice get away

Nothing really negative to say, the town is very small so there isn’t a massive choice of restaurants but what’s there does good Andalusian food and was an absolute bargain (my favourite was picassos)

Ken and Jo were the perfect hosts at this gorgeous B&B. Breakfasts was delicious and they had great reccos for where to eat in town. The pool area is well maintained and a lovely sun spot in which to relax in the afternoon.

The building does not have air con as is very old so just worth bearing in mind depending on the time of year you visit. They do provide fans though.

We loved staying at Almohalla 51. A cosy room, roaring log fires in the lounge, delicious food but more than anything, the welcome we received from Jo, Ken and Barry the lurcher. Archidona , is a perfect jumping off point for Malaga, Granada and Seville, set in stunning countryside.in all we cannot recommend it too highly and we hope to visit again soon.

The property was very quaint. In a fantastic location. The room was very in keeping with the property. Beautiful breakfast garden. The lounge’s were so relaxing. Pool area and adjoining shaded area outstanding. The property was inaccurate throughout

Nothing to dislike

The owners were very welcoming. The included breakfasts were top notch. There was also never ending cake 😃. The outdoor terrace with pool and lounge chairs was lovely, as was the cosy evening fire. Our bed was super comfortable and pillows were "just right".

Just know that the property is located in a small quiet town with a limited number of services, stores and places to eat within walking distance. Check opening times of cafes or restaurants in advance. However, if you have a car, you'll be set!
