Our one-night stay at Parador de Benavente was nothing short of exceptional, leaving us eager to return. Housed in a beautifully restored 12th-century royal castle, the hotel’s Renaissance-style architecture, highlighted by the stunning Torre del Caracol with its Mudejar ceiling, exudes historic charm. The setting in the Jardines de la Mota, with sweeping views of the Tera and Órbigo valleys, added to the enchanting atmosphere. Our room was impressively spacious, blending antique-style furnishings with modern comforts like free WiFi and a pristine bathroom. The large, comfortable bed ensured a restful night. The outdoor pool, surrounded by lovely gardens, was a stunning highlight, perfect for a relaxing dip, though we didn’t have time to fully enjoy it. Dinner at the onsite restaurant was a standout, featuring delicious traditional Zamora dishes made with fresh, local ingredients. The extremely friendly staff elevated the experience, offering warm and attentive service that made us feel truly welcomed. Though brief, our stay at Parador de Benavente was flawless, combining historic elegance, modern comforts, and outstanding hospitality. We highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!!

Nothing!

Fantastic views over the surrounding areas and the town of Benavente as the Parador is at the highest place of the town of Benavente. It is a historic property like most Paradors, there is an outdoor pool, with a life guard. It’s quiet and it’s nice to go for a walk through an adjourning park and the old town of Benavente. There is limited parking in front of the hotel, but there is as well as public parking garage on the other end of the park (about 200 meters away), which as well has the possibility to charge electric cars. We had dinner and breakfast at the Parador and it was really nice and we strongly recommend this. Last but not least the staff was very helpful when we noticed the next day after arriving at our next destination, that we had forgotten something at the Parador, they helped us to send it by courier to our last destination in Spain.

Even though it is a historic property some things could in the near future be updated, it is a bit like staying in a medieval fortress, which is great, but maybe some pipes and so one need to be upgraded. All in all a great stay.

We loved the size of the room, the high tech bathroom, the beautiful balcony with comfy chairs and a brilliant view. The bar staff and cleaning staff were friendly and attentive. The building was well kept, right in the centre of town a few minutes walk to the bars and restaurants.

Apart from the guy who checked us in on arrival, who was very friendly, we found the reception staff alouf and ignorant, we stayed 4 nights in the hotel and not once during our stay did any of them acknowledge us, we passed them many times in and out of the reception area , passing through to go to the bar and restaurant. As with many Paradores we find the reception staff need training in customer service.

It's an amazing setting. Historic context with 1st class accommodations. Gardens park adjacent to entry and a stones throw from the heart of town. I was afraid the castle complex on the hill would be far removed from the center of town, but far from it. It was ideal. The staff was gracious, attentive and welcoming. The meals were very good. The guy at reception was able to decipher the meaning of the elements on the crests of the Counts of Benavente. Well-educated and engaged. The wait staff for breakfast and dinner seemed to delight in presenting the meal offerings. Even the charcuterie plate came with a detailed explanation of each cheese, name, source, origin, and maturation. Attention to detail was refreshing. The shower is amazing! Designed for two. Delightful even for one. Decor is tastefully modern. Even the lighting is coordinated to be the same color. Someone there has vision.

That the pool was closed.

Beautifully-maintained historic building, superbly modern bathroom with a 3m twin rain head showers and wash and dry toilet. Lovely pool and tree-shady terrace for a g&t. Mini bar in the room and free parking right outside. I didn't have breakfast there but took a 5 min stroll into town through the park to a café. I ate lamb cutlets with fries and roasted red peppers on the restaurant and it was very good. All of the staff were very professional and super-friendly. All in all a great Parador experience.

Nothing! It would be nice if the pool were available before 11am for an early swim.

A beautiful room with balcony, a fridge and a super king bed with extremely good linen. The bathroom was superb with a Japanese style toilet, his and her wash hand basins and a double walk in shower. Llight and spacious accommodation which was spotlessly clean. However, there was not an iron and board nor tea/coffee making facilities. A great location though, just a stroll through the park to the town's bars and restaurants. Breakfast was buffet sttyle with a cooked, waitor service hot option that was well worth having - the food was excellent. Plentiful free parking, too. In sum, a lovely, traditional Spanish hotel.

Good Parador hotel and what you would expect at this level for facilities and grandeur Parking is public however outside the hotel and was full on arrival but subsequently some spaces came up The bar was friendly but there might have been a mix up on language as we ordered carafes of house wine at 13 euro but they delivered bottles? at 23 euro which added to the bill We decided to order bar snacks which was very disappointing as the burger and fries came with 6 fries ?? In fact all 4 plates barely had a portion between them ? Not what we expected but the breakfast was very good in balance

Lovely views from our balcony. Clean large rooms, all on same side of corridor. Comfortable beds. Great bathroom. Quiet apart from doors to rooms closing. Good selection at breakfast. Half pension was good value

Staff need training regarding customer service, especially the female ?administrator behind reception staff. All staff could at least smile (the cleaners were the only ones who did). Having to walk uphill from the bus station

Fabulous old castle location on the top of the hill. We were upgraded to a large room on the 3rd floor with a balcony having a spectacular view over the countryside. The bathroom was large and very modern with a long shower with two shower heads for shared showering: can't think I've ever seen that before. Also a high-tech bidet toilet to play with!

As is common with these hotels in Spain, no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. There was also no iron or ironing board (I'm sure one could have been provided if we'd bothered to ask).

Enormous room and bathroom with two showers, one for each member of the couple and more "technology" than one could imagine. The breakfast is "too" good, I mean there are so many good things that is very difficult not to have a little of everything and get too much full. But hey, one day is one day.

The salads for dinner were a bit tasteless, but the rest was fine. The parking in the hotel on Saturday evening was a bit complicated but no problem. It is a bit expensive but again, one day is one day.
