Property is in a perfect location in the heart of the town. This guest house is beautifully thought out and the hosts Priska and Michi were so warm and friendly. The breakfast each morning was exceptional, each day we were presented with something different with a personal touch, everything was either homemade or locally sourced. The atmosphere at the guest house was relaxed, very dog friendly, especially attractive to people on walking holidays. The gauge walk nearby is stunning. Room was well thought out, the décor was modern and cosy, with lovely attention to detail. We ate breakfast outside on the terrace everyday, I especially liked the sound of the local water fountain running in the background. Honesty bar was perfect for when we had forgotten about the village shop closing times for siesta's. I have already recommended this guest house to all my friends and family next time they visit.

We had a wonderful stay, the only negative I could think of was finding a local taxi to get back to the airport. I would advise booking a day or so in advance. This is however not a reflection on the accommodation to which we could find no fault.

For the first time ever, I rate a booking 10. Olive & Ivy is, more or less perfect for anyone seeking to stay in a small but active Andalucian village. The village is an excellent launch pad for hikes, and offers good restaurants, bars, bakery etc.... The inn beautifully designed and decorated, the breakfast wonderful, the welcome sincere and warm. The room we stayed in (302) works perfectly for an extended stay, with a terrace overlooking the town, a small kitchen and sitting area, and even a small washing machine. Everything about Olive & Ivy felt right.

We stayed one night because of a wedding in Canillas and would have been happy to stay several nights. This small and cosy hotel in the centre of the village is run by a couple from Switzerland who put a lot of energy to make everything clean, comfortable, friendly and pleasant. Room had everything, even a small kitchen, and breakfast was made very tidy with local specialities.

Everything about this place is perfect! The location is fab. We booked the apartment at the top and enjoyed the sunset over the mountains on the beautiful terrace, it was incredible. Decoration of the whole guesthouse is dreamy, all the details! Super smooth check-in, easy and flexible. Welcomed with some roasted almonds and a little chupito ❤️ Breakfast was next level!! Served out on the terrace with a lovely chat with the owners. They really understand hospitality in the broadest sense. 100% recommended. We stayed inside most of the time as the terrace and apartment was so gorgeous and relaxing but the little town seemed to be quite buzzing in a chilled way!

It was an unforgettable experience to stay in the heart of a charming Spanish village. The location was perfect, nestled right in the center of the village. The check-in process was extremly easy, and the communication with the owners was exceptional. Their professionalism truly stood out. The highlight of my stay was undoubtedly the breakfast – one of the best I’ve ever had. This was one of the best stays I’ve ever experienced, and I will definitely be returning.

We loved all about Olive&Ivy. The house has been beautifully renovated and decorated with so much taste and love. The bed and shower are superb. The breakfast was beyond our expectations. It was all homemade and served at the table, looking and tasting beautiful. The owners are a very nice couple who truly understand hospitality. They are friendly, helpful and spoil their quests with little extras.

Set right in the heart of the village, close to all the bars and restaurants this absolutely amazing guesthouse is beautifully decorated and furnished throughout. Superb hosts, food and service was incredible. There is a free multi storey carpark around 6 minutes walk away.

We loved the hospitality from our hosts and their aim for giving a good service everyday. Clean rooms and comfortable beds. Amazing breakfast with good variety. Nice little balcony with a view. I forgot to mention, very pet friendly! We want to Come back!

A bit noisy sometimes but its an old traditional house according to the villages standards.

Excellent on all counts. Fantastic breakfast experience. Room and all facilities were exceptional. Best hosts ever experienced with booking.com over the past 25 years. Located in the heart of the Axarquia region in a very interesting and beautiful town (Canillas de Aceituna - a little paradise in the hills east of Malaga). The small town has fantastic old style Spanish restaurants, well priced and very welcoming. The whole region is steeped in tradition and history. The tourist map has 5 driving routes in amongst the mountains reflecting: The history of 1. the "Moors", 2. Sun & Avocados, 3. Sun & Wines, 4. Olive oil & the Mountains, and finally 5. The route connected with the production of raisins. The Axarquia region has at least 40 villages well worth visiting. Many of these villages have been the venues for our local Orienteering Club (COMA)... one word of warning ... there are many slopes and steps in most of these villages. This region is easily accessible by the main dual carriageway (A7) East of Malaga. There is a large shopping centre alongside the A7 between Velez Malaga and Torre del Mar. The latter has excellent beaches.

There was a bike race on Sunday and we were unable to access the exit road for about 45 minute. Not a major problem.

This is a very nice and comfortable guest house. Our room was very clean with a nice atmosphere, nice room decor and very comfortable bed. This is a boutique place. The owners of the guest house also build the atmosphere of the place. Breakfasts are very tasty, interesting, also "boutique". In the guest house you can make yourself coffee or tea. There is also a self-service bar. You can buy drinks at good prices, fine wines, sherry... This building is located in an ideal city centre. This building is the starting point for the most important hiking trails. Me and my wife are very happy with this place. The culture of this place combines elements of Spanish, Moroccan and ... Swiss culture. Why is it like that ? You have to go there and check it out for yourself.
