Extraordinary beautiful location. Hotel and rooms were great and design and interior very nice. Pool area perfect. Nice and quiet. Perfect location for hiking and cycling. Close to Alaro with nice restaurants and supermarket.

The food did not meet our expectations. They should improve on that.

Fabulous location in the mountains with wonderful views from the terrace and pool. The restaurant is set amidst a beautiful bougainvillea strewn courtyard and offers good lunch as dinner options. The continental breakfast is completely self service but with good choice. It’s a great location from which to explore the island. Free car parking is a bonus.

Room 26 has a bad drain smell from the bathroom which is quite unpleasant. They did offer to switch rooms, but we’d already unpacked and opted to stay, keep the door shut and all use the bathroom in the second room. The staff were friendly but didn’t introduce the facilities or show us the room on arrival. Just gave us a key! The pool area was very busy and noisy with kids. No pool side service. There was a wedding reception on the Friday which did affect use of the facilities by hotel guests. It’s a bit on pricey side.

We had a great stay here. The breakfast was excellent and the lunch and evening meals were fantastic but also very good value for money. Although you have to enquire about the cost of the drinks they are actually good value for money, beers and cocktails. A perfect setting and only 35 mins from the airport.

We read all of the reviews before booking and there are a few negative comments but our stay was really good. It would be nice to get a coffee or a tea before breakfast starts as there are no facilities in the rooms but it really didnt matter as we were on the whole really pleased with everything. Staff were pleasant but not overly familiar. The restaurant staff were really pleasant.

Staff are super friendly and nothing to much trouble. They seem to be a small team so always a familiar face when you need it. Food is excellent, although choice can be limited however it is a small hotel (~30 rooms) and the quality is excellent. The scenery is beautiful and the layout of the property such that there was always a table / seat / sun lounger to sit and admire it, major benefit of it's small number of guests.

There was nothing we didn't like, there are, though, a few minor things that would have made a lovely stay perfect. Taking into account the age of the property (which gives it it's charm) it is still a bit tired in places. Nothing to put you off, it could just be another step up with a little attention. A/c in the room was also quite basic and struggled to cope with the heat, it was 36 degrees outside so possibly a bit picky but again would make a good stay so much better. Small point would have been to have switched it on in the room before we arrived so it was already cool, we had to work out how to switch it on ourselves.

The location was very beautiful and secluded. The scenery was 10/10 and the property is laid out very well with lots of quiet spaces to explore. I also really loved the decor around the gardens and plants. A lot of original decor and old details inside the hotel also.

Sadly we arrived to our stay pretty late and had to leave very early the next day missing out on the included buffet breakfast by 30mins. We mentioned this the night before to the front desk staff and they told us to come down early anyway and we can have some things before we leave as it should all be set up. It was ready in the morning but we're a bit disappointed to find that the staff woman on was not offering us anything and seemed very annoyed we even asked to make a coffee with the machine. Eventually we found a banana and had a quick coffee before leaving. Such a shame because the breakfast looked great and technically we paid for it...

The people did all they can to make you feel at home! Fantastic personel. Great location. Great building.

Poolwater was icecold in April and too much chloride smell. Television did not work and although mentioned 3 times nobody solved it. Food was good but the kitchen had some problem preparing exactly what was ordered. The room 22 was a bit smelly. Shower in bathtub not essy. Second day was no warm water in shower all day. Wifi was ok but not quick.

It’s incredibly peaceful and quiet midweek. Weddings from Friday onwards makes it livlier. With only 27 rooms but large hotel grounds, gardens and space, you feel like you have exclusive use of everything and that’s worth paying the extra compared to other hotels. The grounds are stunning with captivating views. Silence is golden! The staff are so helpful and friendly. This is the second time we’ve stayed and we weren’t disappointed.

No pool service for drinks

Breakfast was fantastic and the location is truly beautiful and breathtaking. Wouldnt hesitate to recommend to anyone a fantastic hotel.

I was disappointed by the size of the room. I booked a suite and my expectation, as this was my 3rd visit to the hotel, was that it would have been a suite in the actual hotel itself with a large balcony and private sunbeds as this was what was on the description of the room and we certainly didnt have that which was disappointing. I would also say that although the evening meals in the hotel are fantastic its very limited and I would recommend either increasing the choice or including the lunch menu in the evening for variety.

The location of the hotel is amazing, in the middle of the mountain, with spectacular views.  Specifically the garden of the hotel is very well taken care of, with nice green patches and ample opportunities to sit, relax, or picnic. The pool sits beautifully in the middle of it. 

Some basic things for a four star hotel are missing: the presentation of rooms is very basic, there is no toothbrush holder, there is no free water in the rooms (this is standard these days). The service is a bit inflexible at times, though mostly very friendly.  The breakfast is ok but terrible (!) coffee. The hotel should invest in a much better coffee machine, this is also 4* standard these days. Overall, it needs a little modernization but is still a beautiful place with a lot of potential.

Peaceful retreat with stunning views. All you could hear was nature. Delicious food and drinks (and we are fussy!) served by attentive staff in a beautiful setting. We felt instantly relaxed the moment we got there. We were three friends sharing a junior suite and it was huge. The beds were firm and comfortable and the rooms were old and charismatic, but not in a broken down, dated way. Will definitely return to de-stress some more!

Nothing. Although we did agree that if we were there for more than 3-4 nights we may have felt somewhat bored and feel the need to explore the area and so a hire car would be recommended. Oh and the insect bites - drawback to being surrounded by trees - but easily prevented with a good repellent (something we forgot to pack)
