Great location right on Gijon's terrific long beach and adjascent to the Capavilla headland which has many of the historical sights and restaurants that make this an interesting urban/seaside destination. Gijon's is not a resort but a place to enjoy in the company of mostly Spanish visitors wanting to explore the food and culture of the rugged northern province of Asturias. The town has lots of interesting late nineteenth century/early twentieth century architecture and enjoyable squares and cafes. Expect a grand, comfortable hotel existing in a kind of time warp. Staff at the front desk are super helpful, the way hotels ought to be, and the breakfast room/cafeteria is full of locals coming in for their fresh orange juice, coffee and newspapers. We were happy there.
If you're walking from the bus station, ask for directions in advance! It's not far but a bit tricky first time.

The location is fantastic—right in front of the beach, which made it perfect for relaxing walks and ocean views. The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. Breakfast had a nice variety, with fresh options every morning. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and it was great that they spoke English. Overall, a very calm and quiet hotel—ideal for a peaceful stay.
There’s no dedicated parking at the hotel, so you need to find a spot nearby on the street or pay for overnight parking, which can be inconvenient, especially during busy times.

An absolute gem! A very old fashioned grand hotel. It is beautiful and extremely well maintained. The bathroom very well equipped, quite modern. Set across the road from the beach. I would say to anyone thinking about it, just book it! The breakfast can be bought at the cafeteria next door which serves anything you want for breakfast and is very well served.
At the reception a young attendant wasn’t very welcoming nor good manners. The other ladies at the reception were great. Maybe a bit of training would help the young lady, age or race should not be differentiated.

Location excellent. Across the road to the beach and around the corner to City centre. Lots of bars and restaurants.
Breakfast could have better choices. No other complaints for the price.

The location is excellent, and the staff is friendly and attentive. The room and the hotel are very clean.
We could have used a kettle in the room for tea, coffee etc. It would have been very helpful for the night-time cup of tea with a bit of cake, etc. Im unsure why, but our room was very warm in general and was difficult to cool down. Becoming a bit uncomfortable to fall asleep and to be in. And we couldn't leave the fan on because it was too loud.

The hotel has a great location in the Old Town facing the seafront and with lots of bars and restaurants in the streets behind - of which you could hear nothing during the night. It is central to Gijon' s attractions and the beautiful beach area which is across the road. The promenade stretches several hundred metres and is great for a stroll. It has a lovely exterior. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was a good size with plenty of hot water in the shower.
We arrived by car and had to navigate through the one way systems to get to the hotel, where you could not park only unload then move to a car park. There is a handy underground park on the seafront about 100m across the road. I would recommend pre-booking but it is still expensive for a couple of nights stay. For me, as with most Spanish hotels, the pillows are too thin so extra ones had to be requested.

The place is very well located, right in front of the beach and easy to find. The staff speaks English and were all very friendly and welcoming. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was surprisingly spacious.
The room was quite basic with only the essential amenities—would have appreciated a few more facilities for added comfort.

All staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly right from the start with reception staff, housekeeping and cafe staff. The cafe was nice with good options for breakfast. The room was spacious and the minifridge was stocked daily with fresh bottles of water and handy to store food / snacks in. Our room was at the back of the building so no sea view but much cooler than some of our group who were staying at the front of the building with a sea view. The hitel was quiet at the back of the building. Air con was lovely and cool. The hotel is right on the beach front and close to lots of locals shops, cafes and restaurant. Convenience store located behind the hotel on corner called Opencor.
No bath, which wasn't a problem only minor inconveniece as travelling with young child who usually has a bath daily. The shower cubicle was spacious though and had a tap so worked out fine for us and child. A lot of cfes and restaurants close and don't serve food between 4pm and 8pm which wouldn't normally be an issue but we were travelling with young child so a little tricky at times but we managed fine. Beds were OK but could be more comfortable.

The room was a good size and as requested had a stunning view of the beach. Everything was very clean and it was close to the town area and restaurants and the harbour.
There was no parking so we parked in the parking station recommended by the helpful reception staff. It was only a couple of hundred metres away so was an easy walk back to the hotel.

Beautiful hotel and location. We visited for a family wedding so we were a large group. There was no hotel bar for us to congregate in the evenings but they allowed us to discretely use the reception area at the back of the reception. The rooms were cleaned daily and the toiletries were topped up. Fantastic to have a fridge in the room topped up daily with small bottles of water and it was a good size for keeping snacks. We could have really done with a kettle in the room and a few cups. The location is fantastic right in front of the beach and great to explore from. A supermarket is located right behind the hotel. The reception staff are all very helpful at any time day or night. The room was lovely with air conditioning overlooking the street behind. Lovely big windows that you could open to take in the sounds and atmosphere from outside. The shower was a lovely size. The bed was comfortable but unfortunately only one large bolster pillow for the bed. Could do with extra pillows. I would definitely visit this hotel again and room 411 was lovely. I did visit relatives rooms with a sea view and the evening view of the lit beach/coastline is beautiful. Thank you to all the staff for their patience and help during our week stay.
The cafe/bar is only open in mornings for breakfast and snacks and closes at 3pm. The breakfast menu for 10 euros is very good but it is unclear what you can have. You can actually have unlimited food and drink from the menu you just need to ask for more as it is prepared to order. Ideally needs a kettle in the room.
