Cafeteria excellent. 7 euros English breakfast. Staff friendly.

Noisy, A7 motorway and roundabout leading to slip road within 200 metres of front door. But double glazing and electric shutters made it tolerable at night. If we booked it again would requested a south facing room, on the other side of the building.

This hotel is in a great location, close to the beach, restaurants, pubs and a well stocked supermarket. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful and the hotel is very clean. There is a café attached where a breakfast or snacks are available. The hotel is also peaceful and quiet. My husband and I return to this hotel at least twice a year during the off-peak seasons.

There are no tea/coffee making facilities in the room, but we solve this by bringing a travel kettle.

Top-class location right in the centre of La Cala and and an amazing view of the town from the top-floor suite with its balcony. Staff were really friendly as were the cleaning staff. Can't think of a better place to stay.

Possibly having a bar in the hotel might help. There is a wonderful breakfast and snack bar downstairs but that shuts in the evening. Might it be possible to integrate the two so that you have all-round refreshments when needed?

This hotel was excellent in every way...lovely spacious modern room mountain view...Fabulous walk in shower with sensor lighting...friendly staff making you very welcome.Excellent location in the middle of everything. We were in room 204...nice cafe downstairs used by locals so must be good...great stay

This small hotel is in a location that is close to the beach and close to bars and restaurants and supermarket. Everything is a short stroll away. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the staff very friendly and efficient.

We would have liked tea/coffee making facilities in our room. However, there is a café attached to the premises. The hotel does not have car parking facilities. There is a free car park opposite the building, but the surface is very rough but usable. There is limited on-street parking also.

Great location. Some rooms had view over town to the sea, some views onto a road and highway. I had a sea view. But 5 mins walk to the Main Street and beach was perfect. Breakfast included was nice and a good variety from the main bar/cafe. Room very clean and comfortable and spacious. Staff very very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again!

Open plan lobby means you can hear people chatting downstairs and going upstairs. I was conscious to try to not make a noise when coming in late at night after dinner and drinks.

Hotel is located a 3 minute walk to the beach and even closer to many restaurants, bars and shops. Two supermarkets a couple of minutes walk away. Staff were very helpful and friendly and front desk was always manned. Room was on the small side but very clean and comfortable. Minibar and safe included. The bathroom was of a good size and shower was great, easy to use and with a good powerful jet of water. Parking in the streets close to hotel was always available. Would definitely stay here again.

There was nothing bad about this hotel. From the outside it looks as if it will be old but inside the rooms are quite modern and up to date.

Hotel Carmen is in an ideal location. It's close lots of restaurants and bars - especially Biddy Mulligan's Irish Bar which was showing sports. It is also just a small stroll away from the beach. The hotel is immaculately clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The bedroom was air conditioned and comfortable and the T.V. had several English speaking channels.

We would have liked a kettle and tea/coffee making facilities in the room, but we brought our own with us. Thankfully, there was no objection and we were very careful when using same in order to cause no damage. There is no parking at the hotel, but there is a free car park directly opposite. However, the surface is very rough and has been like this for years. This is outside the control of the hotel.

As you enter reception or your room you are always greeted with a beautiful smell from the non stop cleaning, the hotel is located in an excellent spot in LaCala close to all the amenities but just far enough away from the noise of the bars and restaurants. I always stay here and have never been disappointed. They have their own little coffee shop that does an excellent breakfast choice and exceptional value. I was greeted by Daniel like I was a long lost brother he will make an excellent hotel General Manager one day, I was too early and they arranged to keep my bags until the room was ready they also have a shower for guests if you have a late flight home you can use once you check out. A fantastic friendly and very welcoming hotel where nothing is a problem that they can’t resolve.

Nothing to dislike

the hotel is clean staff are very helpfu and it is in a very good location there is a nice cafe/ type resturant in the reception part of the hotel which does coffee and nice breakfast and tapas bar ,there are restaurants and pubs and supermarkets within minutes away and the beach is also minutes away and buses are frequent going to Fungerolia and Marbella
