Casa Doñano is simply a dream. Nestled in the peaceful Galician countryside near the coast, this charming stone cottage exceeded all my expectations. Originally an indiano house, it has been beautifully restored with care and taste—retaining all its historical charm while offering modern comforts. We were looking for some peace and quiet, and this house was just what we needed. The bed was incredibly comfortable, perfect after a day exploring the surrounding nature and coastline. The garden is absolutely gorgeous—lush, tranquil, and ideal for relaxing with a book. What truly sets Casa Doñano apart is the staff. Every person we met was welcoming, kind, and genuinely helpful, making us feel completely at home. Breakfast was another highlight—fresh, local, and delicious. If you're looking for a peaceful, beautiful retreat that feels both luxurious and full of character, I can't recommend Casa Doñano enough. A true hidden gem.

The house is situated in a very quiet region. We were one of the first guests. Casa Donano has new owners but it felt like they were doing this for years already. Every room is different but beautiful. There are inside and outside sitting areas were you can find privacy. The hosts do their utmost to make you feel comfortable. The garden and appearance of the building is very beautiful. Dinner? Go to Casa Vicente in Castropol or La Solana in Ribadeo.

It is a vintage house. So, you will hear some noise of your neighbours but nothing to worry about!

We are frequent travelers and I must say that Casa Doňano is one of the best we have experienced in Europe. The house has a mystical atmosphere, it is a wonderful and sensitive reconstruction of a rural historical building with the corresponding equipment. It filled us with positive energy there. The owners (a lady from Brazil and a gentleman from Holland) were very kind and helpful, and at the same time they were extremely pleasant communication partners for us. This was by far my best stay on the Camino. It is well located for those walking the Camino and it shortens the walk to Lourenzá. The owners were amazing hosts and I wanted for nothing. It was a great choice for a rest day. Thank you so much. I would like to think I will come and stay again sometime.

This was our favourite accommodation while walking the Camino del Norte. It was exceptional. The hosts were so friendly, helpful and welcoming. They made us an excellent home cooked meal. We LOVED the garden and spend our afternoon relaxing in the shade, napping and playing cards. In the evening, we sat inside in one of the super comfy sitting areas. I highly recommend this accommodation!

Everything about Casa Doñano exceeded expectations. We came in soaking wet from the rain, and were greeted with the warmest welcome, a roaring fire to take the chill off, and the most comfortable accommodation in my 2 months in Spain. The house is a spectacular historic property and the food was outstanding. We only had one night, but I will return to Casa Doñano in the future for sure.

We were on the Camino and discovered this amazing place, at 8 minutes away from the route. The hosts made us feel right at home. The food was delicious, the yard is so beautiful and relaxing. The view is great.

Everything! Uniqe house, inside/outside. The atmosphere, the style - a dreamhouse. We loved it. The hosts are very nice people and are proud of their house - ofcourse.

Perfectly renovated old house away from city noises. Hosts are super friendly and welcoming couple. Room and bathroom were very nice with all unnecessary things. Breakfast was served in separate building. Coffee and eggs were prepared according to our preferences and served to our table. And just like host said, ”mi casa, su casa”, we felt like home.

Both the interior and exterior of the Casa are beautiful. The sitting room with open fireplace was a joy and a fabulous space to sit with friends while enjoying some wine and snacks. The room was spacious, beds were comfortable, towels were white and fluffy.
