Fantastic old castle, superbly restored and in the process of being refurbished. The breakfast and restaurant meals were excellent, and the staff were superb. My wife had been ill and only wanted something simple for dinner and so chose a fruit salad. Whilst she was eating it another waiter appeared with a different and less acidic fruit selection as he felt this might be better for her.
At the time of booking we asked for a walk-in shower, and the response was this could not be guaranteed but on arrival they would do their best. Unfortunately none were available on arrival.

Impressive building and renovation. Building works continued on our visit but it was not a problem.Bedroom size OK, bed very comfortable, balcony was useful addition and bathroom was clean. Full length mirror always appreciated by my wife. Wardrobe had sufficient number of hangars. Meals- evening and breakfast were reasonable quality and staff very efficient and professional.
Air con adjustment not possible and advised by staff to open balcony and pull ac on full- amusing but far from helpful and not appropriate response. Bathroom shaving mirror poor variety and very difficult to use by my wife. The mirror in parador trujillo was exactly what was needed. Toilet paper left on wc cistern like some cheap motorway cafe. Balcony chairs were akin to the spanish inquisition and tortured ones back with its poorly located metal rung. Parking information variable depending on which parador staff one asked.

The first thing you love about this castle is that it's still a castle in it's original form, meaning the walls are still stone and mortar. A lot of castles have had convenience conversions and their hallways and rooms are drywall, which is not a decision breaker, but definitely not as cool as the real ones that have not had conversions that required drywall.. this is just one of the things I found that makes a difference for me in castle hotels. For those that have had drywall used they should've at least used plaster instead..

The hotel was so beautiful and full of character. It has been refurbished to a high standard, and although there had been a lot of modern touches made the original features have been retained. We were on the first floor with views over the countryside, our room was large with a huge and comfortable bed and modern bathroom. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We had dinner in the restaurant which was excellent with attentive staff. We would definitely return the if we were ever in the area again!

The castle itself has been beautifully restored, and it's a joy to visit and wonder around. The staff at check-in were friendly and efficient. Our room was huge, and we had plenty of space to unpack and settle in. The towels and linen were first-rate, and the massive four-poster bed was really comfortable. We had read some unfavourable reviews concerning the in-house restaurant, and indeed, a first-hand account from someone we'd met the previous week, so we avoided eating dinner there. However, the immediate area has plenty of other restaurants, so you do have choices. The breakfast was lovely. Very well presented with a wide selection of foods and all done with a high degree of professionalism and food hygiene. Each person having their own serving tongs for taking anything from the buffet as well as waiting staff. We parked our motorcycle in an area big enough for two motorcycles just outside the main entrance, free of charge, in the walled courtyard, and although outside, it felt secure.
We were aware before we visited that this Parador was about to close for several months for a re-fit, so we were wary that it might be a bit ragged. Sadly, I believe they had left it just a bit too long in a few areas. The bathroom in our room was really in quite a state of disrepair. Worse than, but not unlike, a previous Parador we'd stayed at in Cuenca. It may well have been because of the imminent closure, but the bar was badly stocked, and with only one waiter serving the room, it became difficult to get a drink.

The location is amazing!! The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was a little spartan - but that's even positive as part of the 'old fortress' experience. The bathroom/shower was clean and efficient.
The dinner menu was very limited. The air in the upstairs corridors seemed a little stale so some more ventilation might be a good idea. This did not affect the room. It would be extremely helpful to have a well visible sign in the main external carpark with an arrow that says "Hotel Entrance". After arriving in the car park I walked another kilometer through the streets before realising I had already arrived. OK - it's a fortress on top of a hill. How can you mistake it? But I didn't realise that fortress was the Parador.

Paradores Inc have converted another historic castle to a large comfortable hotel. Great location atop a historic village easy walk to the town through ancient cobbled streets. Free Guest parking is up next to the hotel entrance behind the first castle wall. parking in the large outer surface lot which is pay only and more of a hike to the entrance. NB in even cobblestone parking is hell on heavy roller suitcases so consider unloading next to the entrance and then parking. Breakfast buffet is in the large dining room. One hour seatings are reservation only. Everyone arrives at their appointed hour and has to leave when their time slot has expired. I can’t say I have ever experienced this management technique in a hotel dining room. It’s a little weird and overly bureaucratic especially since it’s a huge room with plenty of table space. The only rationale we could figure is it’s a pandemic holdover. Oh and don’t sit in a table unless it’s assigned by the hostess. A 3 person party sat at a 6 seat table and was brusquely moved by staff. Perhaps the staff is overworked and underpaid but they established a staff vs. guests vibe in record time. Unpleasant undertone. Work on that. Modern room plumbing, good AC and a nice room balcony overlooking the central court yard. WiFi signal was solid. Electrical outlets were in short supply. Bring an EU multi plug extension cord.

This parador is in a historic building that is in itself worth the stay. The public areas of this parador are spectacular, with its magnificent walls and ceilings, all beautifully decorated. The rooms are very confortable, The buffet breakfast was excellent. We stayed only 1 night, but the hotel as well as Siguenza would be worth a longer stay..
Pricy, but I guess overall fair enough for staying in such a magnificent castle and the excellent service.

Wonderful building with amazing history. Housekeeping staff was excellent. I totally recommend staying at this parador but I will never eat there again. Our experience in the bar and also in the restaurant was awful.
I wish that the service in the bar and breakfast room was better! There was utter chaos when we ate breakfast. The staff decided that it was time to move around the furniture while we were eating. So, all around us, while we sat there, the chairs and tables were rumbling around. And around, and around. 3 times, all before the breakfast was over. I think that this was really unfair to us. And keep in mind, you pay extra for breakfast, it is not included.

Serenity, quietness and coolness(we stayed in July!). Room are a large size, bed very comfortable. Staff helpful. Free parking and a short downhill walk to the town. Close to the Cathedral and the Alameda..
Its a steep walk up to the parador. Not a problem for me but it was for my dad so maybe take your car if going with frailes people.
